The Dollhouse / Sites for modern Barbie identification
« on: June 16, 2015, 11:30:13 AM »
I'm trying to find and identify the Barbie doll that I had as a child by the way she looks, but I can't find any good reference sites, most of them are for identifying vintage Barbies or auction sites. I got that doll in 2000 (give or take a year) and I don't own her or even pictures of her anymore so I'd love to know what line she was from. Any help is appreciated :)

The Dollhouse / Sparkle Girlz clothes for MH?
« on: June 03, 2015, 03:02:49 AM »
I need some doll clothes for a thing I'm doing with my Monster High dolls, and I need them to be cheap, so I was wondering if anyone here has tried to put Sparkle Girlz clothes on MH regular size dolls, or if anyone knows anything about it. Pictures are more than welcome!

« on: May 22, 2015, 03:49:55 AM »

From minty to baity, show me all of them!

Pony Corral / So Soft ponies
« on: May 07, 2015, 12:30:22 PM »
At the moment I'm obsessed with so-softs, even though I've never owned one. I want one really bad!  I haven't really had much experience with flocked toys, and when I did get a flocked toy in the past, the flocking was usually very thin and kinda scratchy and not as "cool" feeling as it's meant to be. However, I've heard that So Softs are extremely soft and fluffy, and my question is do they compare to any other flocked toy? How "soft" do they actually feel? What could you compare them to? I just want all the SS lovers to rave about these ponies in this thread LOL   because I'm really considering getting one, either through trading or just buying one, even though the ones with good flocking are usually quite pricey.

Pony Corral / Sought after ponies that you're not a fan of
« on: May 01, 2015, 01:14:31 AM »
I'd like to hear which of the most sought after ponies aren't really your cup of tea. Mine would be Rapunzel and almost all the boy ponies. Rapunzel is pretty, but not I'm not "wow-ed" by her at all. As for the boys, not really a fan of those hooves, and they just don't seem that special to me.

I'm not really keen on a lot of nirvanas. To me most of the originals are way prettier than their foreign variants.

(That being said, all ponies are cool, I don't hate any of them, I just doubt I'd be looking for any of those anytime in the future.)

Pony Brag Arena / March/April brags! (My first G1s and more!)
« on: April 19, 2015, 05:52:14 AM »
I wanted to wait until I get more ponies (I'm waiting for a couple of packages) but I simply couldn't resist!

Sooooooo this year I got back into MLP... just like I do every now and then. I've always loved it, but recently I got even more into it, and since it was the first "pony obsession spree" for me as an adult with a few extra euros to spend  I decided to just give in and buy ALL THE PONIES XD

Here are the photos of the things I got in the last two months!

Two TY plushies (I like those way better than the Funrise ones, and they're even cheaper!)

Diamond Mint! My first G4 brushable

And then some ponies that I've always wanted! I was especially excited to get Minty and Rarity, because I've been wanting them since I was like 12

Next up is a beautiful 25th anniversary repro Minty I got from a trade! She's beyond gorgeous!

I curled her hair because I felt like it lol :D she's not technically a g1, but I was beyond excited when I got her, because she was just so different from my G3 herd  ^.^

My (growing) Minty army!

I fell in love with Shady ever since I saw her SS version, and when I discovered there is a NSS version with a bright pink body to accompany that flashy hair color, I knew I must have her!

Baby Nightcap is just so adorable! I thought G3 babies were cute, but G1 ones are just irresistible! I want an army! :D

I will probably update this thread with new brags as I get new ponies :)

Pony Corral / Favorite horns and wings!
« on: April 19, 2015, 04:33:18 AM »
They're all different in every generation! Which generations' unicorn horns and wings are most appealing to you?

I like G1 unicorn horns because they're long and majestic. I just prefer when unicorns have longer horns. G4 brushables have teeny tiny horns which are cute but eh. G4 allicorns' horns are also cool looking!

As for wings, I think I like G4 wings the best because they actually look like they can lift the pony up  and I couldn't say the same about G1 or G3 (the wings are just so tiny!)

What about you? :)

Pony Corral / Show me your before vs. after cleaning/restoration pics!
« on: April 17, 2015, 10:55:32 AM »
There are only a few things more satisfying than seeing a sad, dirty pony being turned into a near-mint looking one, am I right? :D I love seeing before/after transformations, especially when they're extreme. Do you have any before vs. after photos?

I personally love cleaning and restoring ponies, but unfortunately I haven't come across any super dirty ponies that need some serious spa time yet :)

I've been looking on ebay and people are selling her loose for around $50 and I doubt that's a fair price. Is she that much rarer than other G3s?

Pony Corral / Would you debox a G1/G2/G3 pony?
« on: April 13, 2015, 02:31:47 AM »
I'm making this thread because I feel like the majority of collectors would cringe at the idea of taking a vintage toy out of their packaging, however, I think that I would not be able to resist the temptation. Of course if the pony is more rare and expensive, then I'd keep it as an 'investment' and display it in the package. Other than that, what better feeling than to get a, let's say, so soft pony and feel the perfectly soft, brand new, untouched flocking, or take a BNG pony out of their packaging and make the brand new mint hair "grow" by yourself? I'd totally take out ponies that have fragile parts that otherwise would have been lost (flutter wings, flocking, etc.) simply because I love to brush and pet and gently play with my ponies and not just look at them :)

If you got a MOC/MIB pony that you couldn't find at a store anymore, would you open it?

Pony Corral / G1 in Eastern Europe?
« on: April 11, 2015, 01:12:24 PM »
I have been wondering for a while whether G1 was ever distributed in Eastern Europe, because I doubt we ever got any western/american toys at all before the 90s. I've read in My Little Wiki that European ponies have been sold in Poland, so I'm wondering how many eastern countries were actually importing MLP at that time. Some people from my country (Lithuania) who lived at that time report getting toys from China and other Eastern European countries while travelling, so I'm wondering which countries exactly had the toys for sale in stores. I honestly never thought there would be even the slightest possibility to find vintage ponies in my country or anywhere around it, but maybe the situation isn't that hopeless. Does anyone know anything about G1 toy distribution in Eastern Europe?

Pony Corral / Help?
« on: April 02, 2015, 10:49:05 AM »
I came across some used ponies in a local advertisement website, and I was wondering if it's worth getting them.

Could someone please help me identify the pony in this picture? Or is it a fakie?

Also, I found this G2 pony, she's €3

I believe her name is Light Heart. Is she common? Should I get her? I have very little knowledge of G2 ponies. She seems in fair condition, but I can't see her tail. Is €3 a good deal?

Pony Corral / Your favorite pony color combos?
« on: April 02, 2015, 06:11:11 AM »
There was a topic about ponies that you wish were a different color, so I thought why not share your favorite color combinations as well? Which ponies' color schemes do you like best? Which ponies have the best multi-colored hair? and so on :D

My personal favorite has to be G3 Daffidazey, because oh my god, THAT HAIR  :dribble: best color combination Hasbro has ever come up with in my opinion. Also I'm a sucker for blue ponies with warm toned colors in their hair (G1 Sweet Pop, G3 Party Cake, G3 Waterfire).

Pony Corral / Does re-hairing affect a pony's value?
« on: March 30, 2015, 10:59:33 AM »
I have been wondering for a while now. So let's say you have a G1 pony with terrible hair who isn't dirt-cheap and would cost a nice amount of money in a good condition. If you rehair the pony with brand new doll hair, does the value rise or drop? Because I've heard of collectors who would rather have a pony with bad (but original) hair or rubbed symbols than a restored pony. What do you think? (The same question applies to repainting rubbed symbols, or re-flocking and restoring in general)
