« on: May 22, 2016, 12:50:59 PM »
Rehaired and or deflocked or sad condition is fine but I'd take minty too! I'd really love to trade but will consider buying. US trader preferred. Thanks!

My trade list:
Lady Flutter (summer wing or windy wing, very good to near mint)
Tex (very good condition)
Baby lucky leaf (rusty inside but outside looks great)
Newborn twins noodles and doodles near mint
Almost complete set of mail order sparkle ponies  (only one missing is Napper, all in great condition)
Rainbow baby star bow (the white earth one)
Newborn twin dibbles (or nibbles? The Orange one, great condition)
Moonstone (I'm pretty sure she's the mail order one, great symbols, VGC-NM)
Plush Cherries Jubilee great shape

Pony Corral / Question about cleaning plushies
« on: May 22, 2016, 12:42:30 PM »
I recently rescued a bunch of new MLP plushies from the side of the road. They appear to be in great shape, but they obviously came from a smoking household. I left them outside to air dry for two weeks and they're better but still smell a bit, especially if you sniff them directly. I'm afraid if I wash them in the machine their tinsel and sparkly wings will get ruined. I read online you can put them in a bag with baking soda but I'm also worried that may be bad for them. Any recommendations? Thanks!

No holds longer than 72 hours please. Thanks for looking!

Pony Corral / Ponies and morals
« on: August 10, 2015, 03:53:49 PM »
Is it morally wrong to separate a pony from her lifelong playmate? It sounds bizarre I know, but hear me out. I recently acquired a lot of ponies, and in the lot is a nibbles and dibbles. I have every reason to believe that this pair was originally packaged together and has spent the last 25 years together. The nibbles is in fabulous shape, but the dibbles has marker on his face :(

I have a dibbles in my collection in great condition. I want to sell the nibbles and dibbles pair. I am considering keeping the one with marker on his face in my personal collection (because I don't mind it so much), and selling the nibbles with my former dibbles, because then they will both be in fab shape and will probably sell better. I don't have a nibbles. Is it wrong to separate poor marker face dibbles from his twin? Is it wrong to just stick my old dibbles with this other nibbles and assume they'll get along?

Yes, I know they're just bits of vinyl or plastic, and I'm being pretty silly, but...hear me out. What do you think?

Wanted! / New tail for star hopper
« on: April 27, 2015, 02:51:22 PM »
I need a yellow with gold tinsel tail for my poor star hopper who lost hers. I am open to a donor tail from another star hopper (even if it is rusty or the tinsel is very crinkly, or even if it's trimmed), or I am open to one made with dolly hair or whatever custom hair, as long as it will match her mane (doesn't have to be a 100% match, but you know, match well enough). I honestly don't want to pay too much as the pony herself isnt worth much anyway (and it's not like she was a childhood pony or anything). Anyway, just thought I'd see what was possible. Thanks!

I'm more than a little irritated so please excuse the excessive ranting. I bought a Kate spade bag on eBay a few months ago. The seller hadn't mentioned the detachable cross body strap, and it wasn't pictured, but she had said she bought it new direct from Kate spade, and I've bought the same style bag on eBay before when the cross body strap wasn't pictured and was still included, and it was a good buy it now so I went for it.

The bag arrived not only without the strap but also with stains and other previously unmentioned issues. I contacted the seller who refused to do a refund, and I just didn't want to deal with it so the bag stayed in my closet until last week.

I decided to sell on eBay; I took many pictures,  and described it thoroughly. In both the "item condition" section and the main description I very clearly stated "the cross body strap is not included. " The auction was up for seven days and ended two days ago. I sent the winning bidder an invoice yesterday. This morning I got an email from her saying "I didn't notice the cross body strap wasn't included, please cancel the sale. "  Obviously I'm furious; not only did I clearly state it in the auction twice but it wasn't pictured and I myself went through almost the same situation as a buyer (where it wasn't clearly stated in the auction) and I had to suck it up and buy it. In my auction I also stated all sales were final and it was the buyers responsibility to ask questions before bidding.

What can I do? I sent the other bidder a second chance offer this morning but she already told me that she has since bought a different one and no longer wants this one. Will this EBay buyer get a strike against her if I go through the resolution center process? I'm so so so frustrated, I feel this buyer is being irresponsible; who bids on an item without reading either the description or item condition thoroughly?  I don't want to wait another seven days just to sell this stupid bag that's brought me nothing but trouble :(

I recently bought a leather Kate Spade bag on eBay. I'd been looking for this style of bag for a while, so I had a pretty good idea of how much they've been selling for. Well, a couple weeks ago I saw a buy-it-now for this bag which had just been listed. The pictures weren't great. The description said it was "in great shape, only used a couple of times, purchased brand new at kate spade store in NYC." The BIN price was pretty low; about 30-40% lower than the bag usually sells for.

I did not see the detachable crossbody strap that was originally included with the bag, but I've noticed that many sellers of this particular bag often do not show it in the pictures; sometimes they mention in the description that it is or is not included, other times I have asked about it (and curious enough, even though many sellers do not picture it or mention it in the description, when I've asked, it usually is included). I wanted to ask the seller, but because it was a just-listed BIN at a great price I didn't want to risk waiting for a response, so I went for it. I figured that if this person really did buy it brand new from the store they would have the strap, or at least know that it came with one and therefore would've mentioned if it wasn't included in the description.

Well, not only did the bag arrive without the strap, but it has several stains on the exterior leather as well! There are dark stains ranging from 1/2 inch to 1.5 inches long both on the front and back of the bag, and a long scratch in the leather on the base. None of them are visible in the auction pics (they are blurry and poorly lit). I used my leather cleaner to try to remove the stains but they won't come off. As if that weren't bad enough, the inside of the bag was very dirty -- there were even many crumpled up old "to do" lists and gum wrappers in the pockets!

I went to leave neutral feedback, but a little thing popped up before I submitted it saying "please try to contact seller to resolve the issue before leaving neutral feedback." So, I contacted the seller and explained everything. The seller was very defensive, said she didn't notice any stains (I'm sorry but they're pretty obvious, and with a leather kate spade bag you should definitely give it a good look before selling on eBay and stating its in great condition!). She said she knew the crossbody strap was missing but "since it wasn't pictured it didn't need to be mentioned in the description." Lastly, she said since the purchase price was so low, I should just be happy with it and that she wouldn't do anything further.

I'm a bit frustrated; the price /was/ great but if the stains had been clearly pictured and/or mentioned I probably wouldn't have bought it. Ditto for the strap; at first I thought "maybe somehow she forgot it originally came with the strap?" But in her response she clearly admitted that she knew it was supposed to have the strap, she just didn't think it needed to be mentioned.

I am an occasional seller on eBay myself, so I know how annoying neutrals can be, and I don't take it lightly when I consider leaving one. What do you think, does this warrant a neutral, or just a positive with a comment about inaccurate description, had stains, etc?

Arts & Crafts Corral / Are you a graphic design artist?
« on: March 15, 2014, 03:33:30 PM »
I hope this is ok but I need an experienced digital artist to create a vector image logo on a short time frame so I wanted to xpost this in the hopes of reaching one (I'm not sure how regularly the trade forum is checked?). I have G1s to trade, please see my post in the trade forum here, thanks!

Looking for a legit graphic design artist to create an official logo for my new start-up company, to be featured on our website, business cards, and other promotional materials. My business partner and I had already reached out to a friend of a friend graphic designer weeks ago, who promised to help, but has now flaked out on us barely two weeks before our first major event, leaving us in the lurch. The design is exceedingly simple, basically just text, we just need an experienced digital artist to make it look "extra pretty and official," if you will. We still need to order business cards before the event (and get the logo on our website, etc), so we are hoping to find someone willing  and able to do this in the next couple of days (deadline of Monday evening so business cards can be ordered by Tuesday morning).

In exchange, I am offering your choice of several G1 ponies, up to a $20 total trade value (plus shipping will be covered by me) US only. Please see below for pics, approximate trade values per pony (you can get four ponies valued at $5 OR two valued at $10, for example). Ponies will be sent out after logo is received to our satisfaction. (I have amazing seller/trader feedback here so I think this is fair, given the type of trade this is.) PM me if interested, thanks!!

P.S. If you're interested, highly qualified (can show relevant examples of your work), but feel that the trade offered is not high enough compensation then feel free to PM me and maybe we can work out a higher value trade, if necessary.

Of all the hundreds of ponies I sold when I downsized, I've been missing these the most.
I'm mostly looking for:

Princess Tiffany (Pearl)
Princess Sparkle (Amethyst)
Princess Serena (Aquamarine)
UK Baby Dragon Prickles (green)
UK Baby Dragon Sparks (pink)
UK Baby Dragon Smokey (blue)
Brazil Baby Lofty
Brazil Baby Cuddles
Brazil Baby Tiddlywinks

I am also somewhat interested in buying princess wands, damsel hats, as well as the other Princess ponies from this set (I don't have any currently). However, I am only interested in buying these items in conjunction with one of the ponies (or dragons) listed above, as they are my main focus (and all the rest is just gravy right now). And speaking of gravy, I also may be interested in a few Greek babies (butterscotch, blossom, minty...just about any except for Cotton Candy or Firefly)...

Anyway please PM me if you have any of these things for sale! I can pay with paypal :D

So, I wanted to give you guys a heads up about this seller. It's kind of a long story... she's been trying to sell a large lot of MLPs on craigslist here in Portland (the lot is mostly G1 but also has G2s and G3s in it). She posted it up several weeks ago with an asking price of $200. Each week she has reposted the lot on craigslist for a slightly lower price ($180, then $160, etc). When she reached the price of $120 I responded, and offered her $60 (frankly the lot isn't worth much more than that, most have haircuts and look pretty mangy). We went back and forth a little bit, and she told me "I can't sell for less than $80, I bought them a few weeks ago and I paid $80 for them at a vintage toy shop." I told her my offer for $60 stood, but IMO the lot isn't worth $80 in the shape it's in (plus there's the fact she insisted I drive out to her, 35 mins away). Then she told me "it doesn't matter, it's on Ebay anyway and there are lots of people watching it so I'm sure someone will bid."

I've been watching the auction on ebay for several days, it was originally listed at $120 plus $20 shipping, and she keeps altering it, yesterday it was at $100 plus $12 shipping, and now it's at $98 plus $15 shipping...I dunno, it's a little bit screwy. Anyway, the auction has less than 24 hours on it now, and no bids, so I thought I'd reach out to her again (in her craigslist ad she specifically made it sound like a cry for help, saying she "needs cash to pay bills," so I thought perhaps she might reconsider an in-person cash offer). I messaged her through ebay, telling her I was still interested and could still come to her and pay $60 cash for the lot.

She messaged me back and was very rude; I guess she had mistaken me for another person who had responded via craigslist, because she accused me of being "the one who wanted to cherry pick ponies from the lot and pay only a few dollars per pony," which was honestly not me, I wanted the whole lot for a flat (fair) price. I tried to explain that that wasn't me, and I said "I'm sorry you might not be able to get your money back, but honestly these ponies just aren't worth $80 in this condition." She responded ruder than ever and said "I never said I paid $80 for those ponies, that is ridiculous, I only paid $20 for them!"

So, bottom line, she is rude, IMO unreasonable, but she for sure 100% lied to me about how much she paid for them (I went back and re-read the text I had gotten from her in which she told me that she couldn't accept less than she paid, $80). I understand that this might not necessarily make her the worst ebay seller ever, but...she definitely lied at least once, and I wouldn't trust her!! (Hopefully no one will bid anyway, like I said I don't think that manky lot of ponies is worth her asking price.)
