Whoops, I poofed, I had one pony doodle I never finished ack, but I do have a different kind of pony I just drew. Picking up my Pokemon speedpaint month challenge again after my tablet died in March and I had to get used to my new one. Here is Galarian Ponyta. Hello wonderful Arena folk. Some of you may remember Let's Make a Pony, but for those of you who didn't catch the first game, here's a handy link to see the happenings (sorry for all the broken images, photobucket, right?): http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,381901.0.htmlAnd without hopping threads, the gist is that we, as a community, partake in a series of polls--which ask questions like species, colours, theme, names, etc.--to create a brand new, maybe crazy, maybe simple, pony! Here is Cassie, the first arena created pony- visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAnyway, moving onto modern times. I was remembering the fun and would love to host another one. My only concerns are my timetable, luckily I have a 9-5 weekday job now so no randomly scheduled night shifts to worry about getting in the way. But I'm still busy and this was a five month commitment last time. D: Ideally, I would love to recruit a co-host to help with organizing and thread making/updating. But at the same time I don't want to be flaky and kind of disappear when we need to communicate (my brain works best when my mind wanders at work or the subway commute)... Furthermore, I have lost my notes, so I will be backtracking through the old threads to catch myself up and create a new document, and hopefully have enough information about the kinks that went on last round (I remember there being a few!). Please, if you participated before and have any suggestions/feedback on the things you liked and didn't like, I'm more than grateful to receive it. One think for sure I feel could improve is the poll format. The arena polls are great, but sort of limited. I feel it would be smoother if I had the ability to have multiple polls up at once, instead of trying to cram 2 different questions in one poll and/or snail things along and ask small details one at a time. My only hesitation is I don't want to force people off site to participate, you know? Sorry for the unorganized ramblings. I guess, I'm just looking to garner interest and feedback before I start working on this. No matter what, it will still be a little while before I get the ball rolling, since I need to rebuild my notes and try to get some art assets and other small nitpicks taken care of. TLDR; Let's Make a Pony! Game 2, yay or nay?

What would you change? A question I thought would be fun. Love a pony's colourscheme but not their symbol? Love their beautiful mane but it's stuck on a pose/pony race you don't care for? Has a lackluster name? Has a darned gimmick you just can't stand? Just be sure to list ONE thing per pony, it's kind of like a "this pony would be my favourite ever but I have this one nitpick!" and not a "I really don't like this pony, this is what they should have done..." Anyway, to start off: Thanks to the current white pony picture thread, I just dicovered G3 Breezie. I love white bodied ponies, and her CM is so adorable...but that mane colour.  It's boring to me to a have a white pony with pale blonde hair in a line that is all about fantasy colours. I think she would look cuter with a green mane matching her CM colour instead. Now you go!

What would you do if your pony has a missing 3D symbol? Leave it alone? Hide it with ponywear? Create a replica? Craft something unique? What material would you even default to?
I don't know how it is for every 3D pony, but I know for a fact the G1 princesses (or at least Tiffany, but I imagine they are all the same) have a gaping hole in their flank, and the one I rescued seems kind of sad that way. Conveniently, the part that used to hold her gem is loose inside the pony (not the silver teardrop, just this blue/grey base with a screw attached, so I have SOMETHING to work with if I feel like ripping her neck seal. But yeah, it got me thinking about how you all tackle the issue of a pony missing a symbol; especially when painting is clearly not an option.
I don't have a picture of my girl at the moment, I'll try to take some eventually, but I am mostly curious in hearing your stories than seeking advice on what I should do.

Interested in commissioning maybe?I could use some extra cash to buy new art supplies and save for a new computer (one that can actually handle running photoshop ). I'm happy to draw non pony things as well (pets/animals/OCs/Pokemon/etc.) but may run a different price depending on what so we can discuss if you're interested. Traditional (will be fairly small size about the size of a G4 pony/G1 baby--3" maybe a little bigger or smaller? I can intentionally draw it the size of a card to fit into a card holder as per example in below spoiler) Also, as of now it will be drawn on standard printing paper, as cardstock is one of the things I'd need to buy....)-$5 +Can also be mailed to you for cost of shipping and standard letter/card envelope (so should be fairly cheap) Digital Hasbro Pony (Any gen)-$10 Digital OC Pony-$20 +Simple Background (as per puppy example)-$??? Hello my pony loving friends. There is a non-pony item I have my sights on on Ebay, going for $118 Cad and free shipping from Thailand. For this scenario, what should I expect the customs charge to be? Is it just provincial tax (13%)? Or something more? How frequently and at what price points do y'all get hit with customs fees? I'm not an online/international shopper (maybe a maximum of three times in my life, and they took place at least ten years ago or longer), so I'm completely ignorant in how things work nowadays. I want to know what the true price I'd be paying before deciding if I want to take the plunge. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Anyway, I did take a bit of liberty to change the CM a bit, I removed the dipper for a generic planet, and due to being her namesake, made Cassiopeia just a little more prominent in her design (and I couldn't resist the idea of GitD mixed into her symbol to match her mane). Still not fond of the tiny little stars and placement, but getting a genuine star map in there was more art pony than TaF. Hope you all like her anyway! Couldn't help but throw in a poll for this as well. How close was she to how you voted in the polls? What do you think of Cassiopeia? A big thank you to everyone for participating. it was a fun little project for me, and I hope it was equally fun for you all too!

visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI know we have some Japan fans here, so I thought maybe someone would know about these guys. I was in Japan...sometime ago, like almost a decade I think, and there was some Kirin iced green tea promotion where the bottles came with these super adorable panda guys that are pictured (they were all phone charms, I took out the straps and converted them into that little stack so they can hang on my wall). Haha, I actually hated the tea but bought way too many because I was obsessed with these. The four at the end, which I think are soccer related came afterwards, my brother brought them back and I kind of took them. Anyway, the point of the thread. I was able to google enough to find these guys are called Namacha, I think, and I found a plush and commercials related to them, but that's it. I'm trying to find more info on these (what I have here wasn't close to a full set, I remember checking every variety store I could hunting the one in a hot spring, but never found it) and any other charm sets, and I guess merch in general, but am having no luck. Anyone familiar with these and can point me in the right direction?

Now that we know the direction we want 'Arena Pony' to go, we need to talk symbols. So this week let's brainstorm ideas. The universe is literally the limit here, so what imagery does space inspire for you? If you want to submit artwork, that would be perfect. Line art is best (especially if you can make it transparent), but if you want to add some potential colour options, that is recommended. Also, this is not skill based, so any art you come up with will be wonderful, even if you don't think you're much of an artist. Though, you aren't obligated to submit art. You are free to submit stock photos, stock images (but PLEASE, with either of these, only share what is free use or you have been given permission to share) or detailed descriptions of your ideas, and I can doodle up the line art for you. This is all to gather some inspiration and potential symbols to tattoo our girl. So even if someone has a similar idea to yours, don't shy away from submitting your own interpretation. Here are some sample ideas to start off. There is no limit to how many designs you submit, the more options we have, the better. I'm thinking a week is enough time to think things over and create, so get your submissions in by Dec. 17th!Note: Try to keep things simple. As long as it can be related to the theme it is a valid design. No generic roses or anything, but if you can create a floral-space motif, that would be awesome. It's time for the holidays (and miserable weather for us northern folks) so let's get in the spirit!
