For Trade / MIB Adagio Dazzle EQG for trade!
« on: February 08, 2016, 02:47:05 PM »
I found one at Walmart this weekend, and she's up for trade. Seeking in order of priority:

FS Coco Pommel
Flash Sentry EQG
Lyra EQG
Sweetie Drops EQG
Amethyst Star EQG
Roseluck EQG
Cheerilee EQG

I can ship Adagio MIB or loose, and I have no preference for loose or deboxed in return. I intend to debox them anyway. :)

Pony Brag Arena / So I went to the comic shop today...

It was new comic book day, so I went down to my favorite comic shop. Lo and behold, look at what I found!

At normal retail price! I was sure that comic shops would sell the rarer variants for more, but no! I briefly toyed with the idea of trying to trade her, but she's just too beautiful. I have a glitter Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash up for trade, but I'm keeping Cadance. :)

Off Topic / Any must-see things in Winnipeg?
« on: August 27, 2015, 04:38:14 PM »
I'm taking a long-overdue vacation in a few weeks, and my sweetie and I are going to Winnipeg! We don't have any concrete plans beyond seeing Star Warz at Celebration's Dinner Theatre, and trying some restaurants from You Gotta Eat Here, but neither of us really knows much about the city.

Anyone have any recommendations about cool stuff to see or do? My bf is of Metis decent, and I know he would love to check out some historical sites and museums. :)

Jumbo Cheese Sandwich beanie, $200 CDN (includes shipping)
Original body, mane, and tail patterns by valleyviolet, modified by me. Made of micro chenille, lightly stuffed with polyester fibrefill, poly-pellets in the hooves. 100% cut, sewn, and embroidered by hand. 27" long from hooftip to hooftip.
I should note that Cheese can't actually hold his head up. His mane was pinned to his back for the bottom-left picture. Cheese also has his very own "lame claim to fame"...he was worn on my shoulder to a Weird Al Yankovic concert!

Pony Corral / G1 Princess wand ID?
« on: October 07, 2014, 06:57:34 PM »
I'm reasonably sure I have Princess Sparkle's wand here. I got it from a flea market, packaged with a Baby Sniffles for some reason, but there was a Princess Sparkle in the bin. Can one of the awesome accessory gurus confirm, and maybe PC for me?

Arts & Crafts Corral / Silver's plushie gallery!

If I'm going to keep making these things, I might as well pile them all into one thread.

I'm sure many of you remember my very first plushie attempt. She can be found here: http://thirty7of9.deviantart.com/art/Scootaplush1-0-433721820

AGES ago, I found an amigurumi deer pattern in a book that I bought, and I modified it into a pony. She was forgotten about for a long time, but I found her recently and finished her! Meet filly Fluttershy! She's for sale, if anyone's interested. ;)

My first time using the valleyviolet beanie pattern. I LOVE this pattern! I definitely stuffed her too firmly to work well as a shoulder pony, but overall I'm very happy with how she turned out. As all of my plushies are, she's 100% sewn and embroidered by hand. This one is one of my favorite Let's Players...Phoe of Equestria Daily!

Arts & Crafts Corral / Customized Lego minifig!
« on: June 05, 2014, 10:53:21 PM »
Not pony, but definitely art. :) I think my first try at customizing a Lego minifigure turned out pretty well!

The default series 9 waiter already bears a striking resemblance to one of the characters played by my favorite local actor, but he needed a few little adjustments to complete the look. All I did was swap out his hands, change the color of his vest, and grey up his hair a bit. It wasn't much, but I'm very happy with the result!

Wanna know the best part? I posted that picture to the theatre's Facebook page before work this morning for Throwback Thursday, with the following comment:

"Any other Ghost Busted fans out there? I was amazed to find just how much the Lego series 9 waiter minifigure looked like a certain hotel manager. (Original waiter on the top left, customized on the top right.) A few tiny modifications later, my Lego city is now home to René Bouggaire! Though I think his ghost problem may have followed him..."

I arrived home after work to find this comment:

"I am zo proud to be immortalize in Lego. (Whatevah zat eez.)" R. Bouggaire.

FROM THE ACTOR!!! :dropjaw: :faint: :frolic:

Hello handsome!

His eBay pic didn't do him justice. He turned a little blue in this pic...not sure why. He's a proper minty green IRL and he's absolutely gorgeous!!!
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

His eyes and symbols are immaculate, but he has a few imperfections. Some little marks here and there, a small cancer spot on the side of his neck, and 2 cut hair plugs on his forelock. A Magic Eraser scrub should take care of most of that, and I'm sure I can handle replacing 2 hair plugs. :)

Eeeeee!!! :frolic: Ice Crystal has been one of my major grails since the first time I saw him, and at last he's MINE!!! :frolic: I owe a HUGE thank you to SeashellnBubbles for finding this guy on eBay and letting me know. I just barely lost an auction for another Ice Crystal. He didn't get away a second time!

Customs / First plushie!
« on: February 11, 2014, 10:44:40 PM »
I'm a bit nervous to share her...one one hand she's freaking adorable, but on the other I can already see a dozen things that I could do better. The creator's curse is a giant jerk.

All things considered, she's really not too shabby for a first effort, and the next ones will only get better. :) Meet Scootaplush 1.0!

I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but her eyes ended up WAY too low on her face. From some angles it's not bad, from others it looks like her eyes are melting off. I'll be extra careful of that next time.

Close-up of her hand embroidered eye.

She's 100% hand stitched, made of fleece and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. The body pattern was made by Voodoo-Tiki on deviantArt, the wings are from the valleyviolet colt/filly pattern, and I tried my hand at making the mane and tail myself.

Trader & Shipping Support / Can someone explain PayPal to a nOOb?
« on: January 22, 2014, 06:48:40 PM »
I'm gearing up to make my first online sales, but I have this one last nagging question. I've done some research and I think I finally understand how I would receive money from PayPal, but I'd love to hear it in plain English from people who actually know what they're doing. :P *sigh* This is probably a very simple thing in reality, but I'm expecting it to be complicated and am therefore making it complicated. :drunk:

This is my current understanding: I make a plushie and someone buys it. The money goes into a virtual account on PayPal. I then tell PayPal to take that money and put it into my bank account. I then withdraw that money and buy more fabric to make more plushies. :)

Am I in the ballpark here?

or Have Yourself a Little Pony Christmas. :xmas:

Princess Celestia had given the newly crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends a very important task. "Listen up, everypony!"

"Princess Celestia is sending us on a very important goodwill mission to Christmastown."
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The ponies had never heard of Christmastown before. "It's a very small village far to the north," Twilight explained. "It's beyond the northern border of the Crystal Empire."

"We're nearly there! I think I can see our contacts, but...I've never seen anything like them before!"
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

"You must be Princess Twilight. Santa told us you were coming. I'm Rudolph, and this is my friend Clarice." Just as the ponies had never seen reindeer before, the reindeer had never seen ponies either. "It's very nice to meet you, Rudolph and Clarice. I'm Twilight Sparkle, this is my assistant Spike, and our friends Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash."

"The task that we've been given by Santa and Princess Celestia is to decorate the biggest tree in Christmastown. It's the centerpiece of our whole Christmas celebration!"

"Twilight? I think Princess Celestia is sending me something..."

Spike gave a mighty, fiery belch, and..."It's a present for Pinkie Pie, from Rarity!"
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

"Uh-oh...not done yet!" The next gift was a string of magical crystal lights from Princess Cadance and Shining Armor.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

"And finally, a wreath...*burp* from the Apple family."
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

While the ponies were receiving their gifts from home, a team of elves delivered the decorations for the tree. Pinkie Pie dove right in. "Time for a DECORATING PARTY!!!"
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

"Fluttershy and I will take care of the top of the tree, since we have wings."
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Rudolph giggled. "Around here, reindeer can fly too!"
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

"Mmmm...these ornaments look delicious!"
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

"Betcha can't hang five ornaments at once!"
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The ponies quickly discovered that this "Christmas" was just like their Hearth's Warming. The history behind the holiday may have been different, but both were all about good fun and good friends. They shared songs and stories as they worked, and the ponies taught the reindeer their favorite Hearth's Warming carol.

Their mission was a great success, and soon it was time for the ponies to return home to Equestria. Rudolph hugged his new friend Twilight. "This is the best Christmas celebration ever, thanks to our new pony friends. After Christmas, we'll visit you in Ponyville!"

Pinkie Pie wasn't about to wait that long. She insisted on leaving Clarice with a gift, so she would always remember the fun they had together.
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The ponies relived their favorite memories over and over again on the long trip home. Twilight was the one to say what everypony was thinking. "It's really too bad that Applejack and Rarity couldn't join us, but they were given a different important mission. I can't wait to hear all about it when they get back!"

Trader & Shipping Support / Want to sell things online: need advice
« on: November 17, 2013, 09:21:26 AM »
I want to start selling some of my handicrafts online, but I'm not sure how to actually go about it. I'm thinking that private sales are the way to go, through here, or my deviantArt page or something. I don't think an Etsy shop would be worthwhile, and eBay would eat my profits. I'm not trying to make a living or anything. Selling some of the stuff I make would just help me buy materials to make more stuff.

I think I know what I need to do. I think I need to link a bank account to Paypal. I already have a credit card linked to Paypal for buying things online, but I don't know if I can use that to sell too. A bank account that I would use exclusively for receiving money from PayPal seems like it would be easier (and I have an existing one that would work since I hardly ever use it), but I have no idea if it's a good idea or not.

I know lots of you guys sell stuff online. How do you do it? :what:

Pony Corral / Kellogg's coupons are back!
« on: November 12, 2013, 03:29:52 PM »
And this year, you don't have to redeem a code for them. They're actually printed on the box. :P

Kellogg's cereal boxes have coupons on them for $10 off a $25 purchase of any Hasbro product, excluding video games, Winning Moves (whatever that is...), USAopoly, and Funrise products. So go buy some Froot Loops and get a nice pony discount! :D

EDIT: It seems this is a Canadian offer, and it probably doesn't apply to sale-priced items. I should read the fine print first. Still, pony discount! :D
