Hi all,
I recently acquired a less-than-perfect Seaflower with color changing hair. I've managed to smooth and brush out most of it using a good wash and condition, but the color change hair is still a bit frizzy. Any ideas?
Note: heat will sadly not work, as the hair melts easily...
I have also tried dipping her feet in hot water (carefully!!) to get her to balance and stand better, with no luck...

I got one of my grails last week, but I was too busy with classes to draw anything to celebrate... so I drew this today after getting all my schoolwork done. Mainsail is one of the sunshine ponies that I wanted the most, because I can't resist a good blue-bodied pony. And it has a primary color scheme!!  The large one is at print resolution (under a spoiler, it's 1050x1050), and the small is at web. I'm going to be a senior in college next year, and I have to tackle my senior thesis (huge art show), required volunteer work at schools, a Teacher assistant's position, and master's of education courses next year... and there's probably more than that... I can't remember all of it! x_x
So I'm taking three online summer courses so that my final year in college goes a bit more smoothly, and I have more time to dedicate to my senior thesis and all that other stuff I gotta do to graduate.
So far... the work has been grueling. Teachers in summer classes KNOW that they're the only class you're enrolled in, so they assign like crazy!! But unfortunately for me, I'm in three at once @_@;
Have any of you taken summer classes or are enrolled in them now? If so, how is it / did it go?

Hey guys, I don't have a G1 TAF Buttons in my collection to look at for this but I'm working on a G1-G4 custom of her and I'm not sure what color hair she has. Every reference I've looked up has told me that it's either really blue, or really teal. I'm torn between whether it's in water nixie or atomic turquoise, basically. I checked three different pony hair color sites and they all say different things, so I'm extremely confused.
I then tried to check water nixie against my ponies that have the same blue hair (Firefly, Glory, Speedy), but it's all too faded for me to tell if it's a close match.
I was wondering if I could get your opinions on what color her hair is. Is water nixie vs. atomic turquoise more of a subtle color difference, or is it more extreme? I kind of like water nixie, and I have a hank of it already, but I don't want to mistakenly rehair her in the wrong color.

I took a crack at my first ever restoration over this weekend, and she turned out great! I was cleaning my room this week and I found her on my bookshelf. I'd bought her like two years ago to fix, but forgot about her. TE Speedy had serious tail rust, a dirty body, and messy hair. I separated her head from her body and soaked the body in oxyclean. Since I heard oxyclean removes the coating on twinkle eyes, I only poured the oxyclean inside of her head. I scrubbed all of the gross rust out. Then I washed and conditioned her hair until it was soft again. I went out and got a replacement washer (plastic!) and put the tail back in the pony once it had dried. I'm very happy with the results, and I think I will be more receptive to buying more fair quality ponies now. The only issue is her white and yellow hair is still a bit tangly.. I'm not sure if it's something about the color, or what. Maybe I'll go back and try to restyle it to get that curl in it. Before and After photos are under this spoiler: [moving to Corral - kkat]

visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginHey guys, I got a Bouquet Brush N Grow a while back that's dirty (shes dingy and sometimes a bit sticky to the touch), and her hair is a bit matted. The mechanism still works -- her head turns from side to side to wind her tail up, and her tail can be pulled back out after shortening. I would like to make her bright white again and tend to her hair. However, I'm not quite sure how to approach it. I'm in the process of doing my first restore (Rusty, dirty, tangly haired TE Speedy), but with that, I can remove her head and clean the inside, and I don't have to worry too much about mold. For Bouquet, I'm scared I'll get water inside of her when I wash her hair, and I'm not sure if I should wash her tail fully extended and leave it out for a few days, or what I can do about it so water does not get inside. I was wondering how you guys recommend going about restoring her, whitening her body, and washing her hair without getting water inside and damaging the mechanism or her symbols. I really appreciate it, guys. uvu I just want to make sure both of them get the best care I can give them. Post Merge: May 23, 2014, 09:29:31 AMbump~ Bouquet's feet are also off balance a bit. Hey everyone! To make more space in my display cabinet for more sentimental items, I'm thinking about selling some of my G4 MIB and Mcdonald's ponies. I also have a few mane-fronts. I was wondering if I could get price checks. I have a MIB glow in the dark Zecora. The only issue is she moves around in her box because the plastic keeping her on the box arrived disconnected. I have a MIB wedding fillies set. I have a MIB school pals and cheerilee I have a MIB Diamond Rose single with Applebuck Season DVD Here's images of all the stuff that is out of box/bag under a spoiler. Pricechecks on these would be awesome too. It's 2011 and 2012 mcdonalds and the mane-front basic size ponies. The mane front ponies have had a haircut. Thank you! \o/

I've been working on a mailpony custom for the past few months and I've been stuck because every time I glue the plug back in the body, wait for it to dry, then try to put the head on, the plug caves back into the body!!
I've even tried regluing, and reinforcing it with more glue
but every time I try to put the head back on the pony, the back of the plug tries to take a dive into the body and almost gets stuck.
any advice on getting that sucker to stay? A certain glue? I've been using fabri-tac.

I don't think I ever posted these, which is a shame. I made them for the kids I babysit as a goodbye present. c: They both sat down and designed them. We were also supposed to paint them together (I picked G3s because they were a good size for their hands), but the paint they had was awful(their mom gave us watercolor to work with) so I ended up doing it myself. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThis one was for a ten year old boy. He named him Greek Fire, and said he was sort of like Fluttershy. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThis one is Daisy Gem, and she was designed by a six year old girl. I wanted to experiment with gem eyes and wings, so I was glad she wanted them. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginHere they are together. Also, I let them know these were special toys and to be gentle with them. So far, they have apparently held up well after 4 months of play. I just have to fix Daisy's wings and eyes... too fragile... >.<

I have been looking for these things since we got word of the set coming out! And I finally found them today, at Target. I actually jumped up in the air when I saw them, I was with a friend and she found this very funny.  I also snagged a Diamond Rose yesterday, but I'm currently holding onto her MIB until I know what I'm going to customize it into / do with it.

Yep, doesn't matter the condition. I just ask no bite marks or dents. Also, I just want a normal Fluttershy. Not a glimmer wings or shine bright. etc. EDIT: wow, you guys contacted me fast! thanks!

So the kids I babysit found out that I paint and make background ponies, and they'd like to make their own. (they want me to do the cutie marks, eyes, and rehairing part.)
The girl wants fairy wings on hers, so I was wondering if there were any good tutorials or if you could show me ponies with fairy wings so I can be inspired.
I'm currently searching around for some G3 baits to get them started. I was originally going to buy a blank, but the boy wants a unicorn and the girl wants a fairy-winged, gem eyed pony. I have two gems I'm going to glue on top of the eyes, but if you guys knew a way I could make them look like the G1s do, let me know.
So I guess: Show me your fairy wing and gem eyed customs.

A very kind person saw me asking about what a RAOPK stood for in the shoutbox last week, and she sent me some ponies from my want list! I just got the package today, and this was inside. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginShe sent a little hat that could fit on Applejack's head, and it's adorable. She also sent a Skyflier, and the glitter on her cutiemark is in great condition! Before I lovingly added them to my little collection in my display case, I set all my ponies in total on my bed and took a photo (the display case is glass, and reflective, so any picture I tried to take ended up VERY clustered. Ponies reflected on cameras reflected on ponies... @_@;; ) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI love all of them <3
