Magick commissioned me to sculpt her beautiful OC last year, but I had some problems getting her to look as good as she should so she went on the back burner for a few months.

Thankfully Magick is the nicest person ever, and was fine with me waiting to get her just right!

No D specified Day of the Dead ponies, skulls and Ravens, and because I can never pick one thing I picked those things. Originally the mask was supposed to be all black gems but they didn't arrive on time, so it's just a raven face :p

I made a Day of the Dead pony, with a painted face and then I used pastels for her shading. I found some gorgeous artwork/ face paint with pink and red round the eyes and I knew I had to try and emanate that. This meant I didn't go for the traditional flowery eye socket, because I felt that would be too cluttered.

I kept to a simple colour palette, and matched it up with some dip-dyed hair which is very subtly peach to orange.

Because I'm silly, I decided to do black on black for her main body. Yep. Black. on Black. So her body is matte, and then up her forelegs she has a flock of ravens painted in deep black and blue and green 2-tone pearl ex pigments mixed with gloss. She also has a single feather painted on her back NDS leg in the same mixture, both for the ravens and because NoD has a beautiful persona with a feather.

Her cutie mark is a black raven standing on a skull, which is quite an iconic thing with Ravens and Skulls. I had wanted to try and include a pony skull but skills> me so I went with human instead. Again this raven has highlights of the sparkle mix.

I made this girl a mourning veil hairclip, out of black lace, beads and and some fabric flowers I had in my box of stuff, and I embellished with Swarovski's because...BLING. This gives her that pretty DotD look. It's just a normal hairclip so I suppose it could be used on anything.

Then, I decided she needed a Halloween outfit. Because spooky ponies need to dress up too! So I made her a raven outfit! She has a raven mask which has a magnet in the beak (I'll be honest it's a little clunky but it's okay) which joins to a magnet inside her face (lol). (Thanks to Roogna for the heads up about using pony hoof magnets - genius)
And she has a set of spread forward wings which just balance on her back. They're both lined with craft foam to try to prevent paint damage with removal. They are made from Steel armature, 2 part epoxy clay and Sculpey/Super Sculpey 50/50 blend. They're painted black, then drybrushed highlights and accented with more of the blue and green iridescent sparkle on the feathers near the body, to mimic that beautiful shine the crow family have on their black feathers. I tried to do "real" bird feathers but I'm going to need a bajillion years more practice!

I know a few of you were asking about how the new Nylon from MLC curls. You may well have bought some by now, because it took me this long to get round to curling it so I couldn't show you, but here is a Pinkie Pie MH dolly I'm currently halfway through re-face-ing! Sorry I couldn't even remember what the old thread was called, and I'm not a fan of thread necromancy, so I made a new one. Maybe people who have done other stuff with it all can add to this.

As you can see, her Sweetie Nylon took the curls just as well as we'd hope (despite me being a bit of a disaster with the straws and pins).

sorry the pics are a bit rubbish, still confined to the tragedy that is the camera on my S5 currently. SAMSUNG! Y U DO DIS?!?! 

But yeah. the new Nylon is lush. The colours are gorgeous. Fin.

UPDATE:
If you've been following this girl's progress on Facebook (thank you!) you'll know all about the many, many disasters I had with her. It's been pretty saddening at times, but I'm done with her now. She just needs sealing and, probably, at some point, a proper base making. But Currently I need to work on my Halloween swap pony so that's on the back burner. I just wish instead of her fringe (bangs, for you US folks) looked like the "windswept" hair I intended, instead of a toupee. 
(for those who don't know, some of the disasters included having to strip all her paint off and start again, but not being able to get *all* of it off, having her fall off my desk, and breaking both wings and tail, AND ruining paint, eyelashes being too big, eyes being too lumpy etc etc).

So my floofy cat Megatron (named thusly because she is pure EVIL, as demonstrated by this story) decided to play circus lion, and dove straight THROUGH the tissue paper side of my home-made lightbox. This means I am currently snapping pics of ponies standing on two bits of white craft foam, on my desk.  So sorry, they're a bit naff and Photoshop is currently beyond me. Because I'm grumpy. 

Anyway, here are some of my recent girls, who are all for sale, apart from Bright Glow, who is mine and Princess Whizzer, who isn't finished. <3

Dappled Unicorn:

Midori Fling, who was a pre-haired bait I got from ....someone.... ViciousJupiter I think?

This Daisy Girl, whose paint never set properly, and so has tons of wrinkles and indentations in her, but I still love anyway (was painted last summer)

Glittered Bowtie, who was originally a speed paint exercise last year but someone was pretty rude about her eyes, so eventually I stripped her back and re-painted, slowly. Then I was at Pinkkittywinks' house and she enticed me with glitter, and now she has sparkly symbols :p

G3 Sparkle Fakie TE Bright Eyes, who was originally for the pimp my fakie contest a couple of months back, but I forgot to take pics in time so I never entered her! She actually has about 3 hanks of hair in her, and those fakies are SMALL!

G4 Sweet Pop, who also has glitter thanks to Pinkkittywinks! She's actually been done for probably close to a year (maybe?) but I hadn't gotten round to putting her eyelashes on or washing her hair until recently!

My Bright Glow rehair, as she came to me with a haircut at both ends, and I don't like her colours anyway. The white strip is a glow in the dark poly from MLC.

Some WIP shots of the Princess Whizzer pony sculpt I've been working on. Her hair is removable for painting. She's currently being airbrushed and WIP shots are going up on my Facebook, please do "like" my page if you can. It means a lot to me <3 Whizzer was my favourite childhood pony.

Hi lovelies!

Well times are rough (aka I spent too much money on my credit cards and need to pay it all back *snort* ) and I think I need to sell on NC CB (as well as a ton of normal ponies).

Can we get some kind of consensus on what she might be worth please? I know normal CB is shifting at around $40+ ATM.

She has no plugs missing from her mane, but does have one which is very short right at the bottom. She has a blush scrape on one side but it's so clean it may be factory. Her knees have some pale pink regrind, looks like they've been blushed! Eyes and symbols are perfect. Wings have a slight crease at the point where they go "in" in the middle - it's the same on both sides so perhaps a result of the factory process (like the stickers went on wonky?) Some creasing at the base but only in the sticker, not the plastic. Teeny bit of wing-edge peeling but not noticeable from a distance. End of her tail is slightly dry but someone more skilled than me could maybe fix that.

I cleaned her gently and de-tangled her and gave her leg-wraps to re-curl and tame her hair.

Looks stunning on display.

I will probably be taking offers on her but do have a FIL person if they're still interested after PC.
