So I just recently moved over 2,000 miles to the lovely state of Oregon! Oregon has been wonderful so far but I was curious as to what local attractions people enjoy. I am in the Salem area and would love to know about great places to eat, trails to hike, theaters to visit, etc. Also, are there any pony-related groups or anything around here?

So I am pretty sure I got food poisoning on Saturday night.  I have been pretty much living off of only Saltines, I've been sick near constantly, and I feel absolutely horrible.  Oh and I have a test in my College Algebra class tomorrow that I haven't been able to properly study for because of my illness.   

Can you lovely people show me your favorite ponies, of any gen?  Seeing love for ponies will surely help me feel better.  Thank you in advance.   

Hey all!  In exactly one month, I will be attending a Backstreet Boys concert and meet-and-greet!! I was thinking that instead of having the band sign one of my videos/posters of them, maybe I could have them sign a custom BSB pony!  But this got me to thinking of how that could work with ink and such.  Can anyone help me?

1.  Should I dye the pony's base colour in a Rit Dye or can I get away with using Acrylic paint on the entirety of the pony?  How will permanent marker affect either the dye or acrylic paint?
2.  What type of pen/marker should I have them use to sign with that has the least amount of bleeding and is indelible (won't fade away with time)?
3.  Should I seal the painted pony first then have them sign and then reseal, or wait to seal until the signatures are in place?

Hello everyone.  While I was out taking care of the cows, I found a little parakeet out in one of my fields!  He can running up to me as fast as he could and hopped onto my shoe.  His wings are clipped.  I have no idea how long he was outside.  I brought him in the house and found an old decorative bird cage I had to put him in.  I gave him water (which he drank so quickly) and went out and got him bird food for parakeets/cockatiels, a bird toy and a cuttlebone.  He hasn't shown much interest in the toy or cuttlebone, but it doesn't surprise me that much since he hasn't done much more than sleep and eat/drink.

I've never had a bird of my own before, and was hoping for some advice on bird care from someone who has birds, or is very familiar with them.  I've done a little reading, and he seems to be pretty healthy.  His feathers are soft and clean, and his eyes are bright.  He is, as I said, only really eating, drinking and sleeping, and I was wondering how long do you think it will be before he has some energy?  How quickly do birds calm down after very stressful situations?  Is there anything I should look for, or keep an eye out for?
