Pony Brag Arena / Lucky weekend!
« on: April 24, 2017, 09:41:20 AM »
I wasn't going to post, but seeing as I never find G1 stuff anymore...  ^.^

I had some luck at the swapmeet; these days I mostly just go to hunt for art supplies, but I still check the odd box of toys just in case.

I thought it was one of the regular 'my little puppy' figures at first but then realised it was Baby Susie's pup Spot. Never thought I'd have one, let alone find one (he's so tiny!) but finally my baby Susie is complete. It was really expensive though. A whole 20c. Ouch.  :stunned:

Hi again everyone! To cut down on threads I'm going to use this one to post my petites/etc from now on. If you're keen to see extra photos or other works you can check out my deviantart gallery, I'll be adding most of my stuff there. http://kookyraccoon.deviantart.com

(With big parasol)

Been a little while, but I'm back with another one :) I was excited to be able to give mini-parasol glittery symbols like her original-version. ^.^ (Bit hard for the camera to pick up.) Glitter is not something I ever use in my other art, so I don't buy it; but fortunately I also seldom get rid of art supplies. I just happened to have a little bit of ultra-fine stuff that was perfect.

On my deviantart page there's a pic of what she looks like as a completed necklace; and the glitter is a bit clearer too! http://kookyraccoon.deviantart.com/art/Parasol-Petite-670607298

Something a little different this time; a clay sculpture of Fireball. :)

And here's the favourite-pick from the poll; Seaflower! A truly awesome pony worthy of petite-ification.

Out of curiosity anyone know if she came with a ribbon? Not sure if the Sunshine ponies did; I found a few pics of MIP ones and couldn't tell. :| Anyway, I went with yellow because it works with her colour scheme and she came with a yellow comb.

And a group shot, they look pretty all together

Jazzie has a matte finish now; I wanted to see what a non-glossy option would look like. Surprisingly hard to find matte varnish that actually turns out matte!

And they're done.  ^.^

Had a minor mishap with Nightglider's eye while trialling a new varnish (not the eye, ANYTHING but the eye :faint:) but fortunately it was fixable. Paint's a little darker near her eye but she still turned out super cute. ;)

Jazzie's itty bitty rollerskates:

Maybe she was an odd pony to do, but I've always been a fan of Jazzie's colour scheme. I considered painting her without the skates but she just didn't look like Jazzie  :P Anyway, hope you guys like them.

Man, I'm a slow artist. At this rate I won't finish these until next year.

Any guesses as to who these are going to be?

Me again :) Here's the latest petite I've been working on; Blueberry Baskets! This time in the pegasus mold.

I made her colours a bit brighter than her big G1 counterpart; I love the intensity of a bold cobalt blue, can't help it

Arts & Crafts Corral / Merry treat Petite
« on: December 27, 2016, 04:48:29 AM »
Merry Christmas! In the spirit of the season, I've made Merry Treat into a petite pony pendant. No petites were harmed in the making; she's resin, and is a half-pony (so she sits nice and flat on the neck.) I love petites and couldn't fathom the idea of chopping one in half :scared: but this is something I've always wanted to do. Finally I have!
Took three days to make and the tiniest paintbrush ever but I feel like she was worth it! ;) What do you think?

(Also I posted her here as she's technically not a custom, being that I didn't paint over an original petite; but hopefully I haven't posted on the wrong board :lookround:)

Pony Corral / Blue Ponies

Random questions; but who's your favourite blue earth pony, and who's your favourite blue pegasus?

I feel like there aren't enough blue ponies out there  :satisfied: I'm looking for inspiration! Show me your faves!

Pony Corral / Is this Megan?
« on: November 13, 2016, 12:10:59 AM »
So today I found this doll, thought it looked a lot like one of the G1 Megan dolls and sure enough, on her back is 1985 Hasbro. But what threw me off is she had a big bright purple streak in her hair; I'd never seen a picture of Megan with purple streaks, so I thought maybe Hasbro had used the same mold for another line of dolls? I bought her regardless, as you do  ^.^

Then later when I take her out of my bag, the purple streaks are gone. Verrrry faint bit of purple left, (for a second I thought some of her hair had fallen off lol.) Because she'd been in the sun all morning, I was thinking of the sunshine ponies with their colour-changing streaks.

Anyway, I'm sure someone will know; I'm pretty sure this is Megan, but was she ever released/advertised with colour changing hair? Has anyone got photos of a Megan with her purple hair so I can do a comparison?

Thanks all, help appreciated!

I can't explain this other than it's really late and at the time it made sense. I mean hasn't everyone at some point wondered what Tex would like like as a snake? With hair?

Arts & Crafts Corral / Mini SweetPop
« on: February 13, 2012, 07:13:40 AM »
I got one of those little mini-canvas-on-a-tiny-easel things as a gift, and realised it needed a pony on it. So it's Sweet Pop! In acrylics
