My Italian herd has grown to be fairly respectable, but most of them are also fairly common.  So I've been thinking about getting one or two of the HTF ones this year.  But I don't really know how much they sell for; can you guys help me out?

Ummmm, my profound appologies if I'm accusing a perfectly good and honest seller, but I saw some listings on Ebay for "ponyknott" and thought the countertops in the pics looked familiar.  The last time I (think I) saw them was when Brooke Kutik listed some ponies and we had a whole conversation about it here.  I checked the ship from location, and sure enough, it says Florida.  Red flag???

I just got my first vintage Rose Petal Place dolls, Rose Petal and Lily Fair.  I was under the impression that they were MIB, but they've definitely been handled, though very gently.  Anyway, here's my question:  Is Rose Petal supposed to come with underwear?  Mine looks complete, except that she doesn't have panties.  (I hate that word, "panties."  Sounds so prissy.)

I was lucky to get a pretty nice yellow Peru Tootsie with orange hair for a good price recently.  She's a bit discolored, but nice condition overall.  The worst discoloration seems to be on her feet and legs.  I was looking at her the other day, and realized that the worst dark discolorations don't really look like they're on the surface of her "skin," or even within her skin.  Instead, it sort of looks like it's UNDER her skin, and I'm starting to wonder if it's mold.

I don't have a whole lot of experience with this, and I don't usually open ponies up to clean them out.  Tootsie's neck is still sealed, and I don't really want to break it unless there's a good reason.  But if cleaning her out will fix her discolored appearance, then it would definitely be worth it!

So what do you guys think?  Does it look like mold to you?  Notice how the parts of her feet where the plastic is thicker (like her toes and hoof edges) don't show the dark discoloration as much.  I thought that might mean that the dark mold didn't show through the thicker plastic there so much.  Is that how it works?

So I like for my ponies to look as close to "new" as possible.  If they originally came with curly hair that got washed/brushed out over time, then I recurl it.

I just got a nice Peruvian yellow Tootsie with bright orange hair, and I'm not sure what to make of her.  All the pics I've seen of her in the past showed that she's one of those "super curly" Peru ponies with really short and curly manes, and very long and curly tails.  Well, the one that I just got isn't curly, and I was planning to just recurl her until I actually saw her.  Her tail is extra long, like I expected, but her mane isn't short at all.  Actually, it looks pretty long too, like about the same length as the manes on UK Flower ponies or 7 Characters; you know, a little longer than regular G1 pony manes.

So now I'm not sure what to do with it since I'm not sure how it's "supposed" to look.  It doesn't really look like it was ever curly to begin with, and I'm wondering if there were different versions of Peru yellow Tootsie, one with a super curly short mane, and one with a longish straight mane.  Can anyone confirm or deny this?  Is there anyone with a super curly short-maned version who can measure it and tell me how long theirs is?

I've been meaning to get a flatiron or something for defrizzing and smoothing pony hair, especially some of my nirvanas. Well, today I found something promising on sale for $25, and I'd like to know if it would work well. It's actually a curling iron, but I figure I can just pull pony hair through without curling it, plus I might like to use it to curl my own hair sometimes (mine is already straight).

So this thing is ceramic, not just metal; is that good? And it's got 4 heat settings: course, medium, fine, and synthetic. I thought the low synthetic setting might be a good feature for pony use.

Of course I'm concerned about melting pony hair, especially nirvanas.  Ponies I have now that could use hair smoothing include Brazil Starshine, Peru Baby Medley, and Argie Gusty.

And something else just occurred to me: Is there any reason why I can't just use my clothes iron? It has really low heat settings. If I could just use that, then I woyldn't have to buy anything new.

I got Baby Princess Sparkle with her buggy and teal feeding dish in a lot.  At least, I'm pretty sure it's her dish.  I just posted it in my sales thread.  But before I actually sell it, will you accessory experts please check that it is indeed hers?  Thanks!  Here's the link to my thread:

I got a great lot with some stuff I'll keep and others I'll resell.  One item is a Princess Baby Buggy in great condition except that the pushbar handle is missing (though everything from the wheel bars that holds the handle appears to be intact, meaning the little bump tabs and the thingie that adjusts the height of the handle).

So my question is this:  Can I just buy a handle from a regular Buggy to replace it?  Will it fit and work well?  And do the handles from the two different buggies look any different anyway?  If they match, then I guess it hardly matters if the Princess Buggy handle isn't original, though of course I'll still mention it when I resell.

And yes, I do plan to resell this Princess Buggy.  I actually have this set from my childhood collection, but I can't check it now for comparison because it's in storage at my parents' house.
