Is anyone else doing Inktober this year? It's my first time! I decided to go with the official prompt list even though some of the prompts are pretty challenging. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login visitors can't see pics , please register or login>> More in my deviantART gallery. Aintnobuffalo and I agreed to do a private winter themed custom swap as there weren't enough participants for the official Holiday swap. This was my first time using a new style G4 bait (Fluttershy). I loved this fun pose, I'd had the bait as a backup for some time and it gave me these "dashing through the snow" vibes. I couldn't resist trying out a flowy sculpted mane - I mean, those G4 rumps are tiny and I wanted to try something that would give me more room for painting. I love how it turned out! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginClick here for more picsThe hair was sculpted with Apoxie Sculpt and the pony was given a full body repaint in acrylics, sealed with matte polyurethane varnish. Tail and forelock are nylon hair from Dollyhair (Virgin Snow, Arctic Frost, Pussycat, possibly some other colous too ![Smiling :D](https://mlparena.com/Smileys/default/happy.gif) ). The head still turns and she is pretty fun to pose. Thanks for a wonderful swap, ANB!

It's been a while since we had one of these! I just finished sculpting on a private swap custom which I'd like to keep as a secret, but it prompted me to make this thread. In the meanwhile, here's a WIP I started back in 2010. ![XD XD](https://mlparena.com/Smileys/default/XD.gif) Maybe this year is finally the year I finish it? Or perhaps I should wait until 2020, lol! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginShow me yours! Or just list your WIPs if you can't/won't share pics.

I had so much fun drawing Shai's persona Shailatte! I love yellow ponies and her gradient hair is so pretty. The narrow format of bookmark is a bit challenging, so instead of a wintery scene I decided to go with holiday themed treats. The latte mug is a modified version of her symbol, the spilling drink was a nice way to add some feel of movement. I used Sakura Pigma Micron pens, watercolour, coloured pencils, and gel pens for some accents. For some magical sparkle I used metallic Inka-Gold paint in rose pink, but the camera didn't really pick it up. Enjoy the holidays, everyone! visitors can't see pics , please register or login

As I'm getting back into the groove, I thought it would be fun to gauge interest for some swap ideas! I have a lot of ideas but nothing concrete (like timeframes) planned yet, and I can't promise I'll be able to host one myself... but if there's enough interest, maybe we'll find someone to host, too. ![Smile :)](https://mlparena.com/Smileys/default/smile_001.gif) In any case the swap would take place after the holidays, with shipping around Feb/March maybe. So here are some themes I came up with, let me know what you think! And feel free to suggest other themes, too! - Things with Wings (from birds and butterflies as symbols to elaborate winged ponies - you name it!)
- Love Swap (as in things you love)
- Monochrome
- Elemental (Earth-Wind-Fire-Water, or alternatively something like Pokémon types for some additional fun elements like Electric and Poison!)
- Pirates and Mermaids
- Sugar and Spice (a sweet swap based on candy and other delicious things!)
- Flora and Fauna (it could be either or, but personally I'd love a combo! Let's say you list five animals and five flowers/plants and your partner chooses one from each category and features them in your custom in some way)
- Forest Creatures (this could include both real animals and fantasy themes)

It's been a long while since I did any proper pony art! Or any art, to be honest. My PhD has kept me busy and I've been struggling with some sort of artistic burnout. But I'm finally starting to enjoy drawing again! First up is my waaaay overdue half of an art trade with mul-ta. We agreed on 'November' as the theme, and instead of going with a Hasbro character I wanted the pony herself to represent the changing of seasons. Painted in watercolours, borders in antique gold acrylic paint. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginFull size on deviantART--- visitors can't see pics , please register or login visitors can't see pics , please register or loginA few ATCs. Lemon Drop was made as a small extra gift to accompany the painting above; Silver Spoon was made for tailrustedtealeaf in the official Autumn ATC swap. ![Smile :)](https://mlparena.com/Smileys/default/smile_001.gif) Sakura Pigma Micron pens, Copic markers, coloured pencils and white gel pen for accents were used on both cards. Silver Spoon's glasses also have a coat of 'Glossy Accents' 3D gloss medium.

Granate has received her custom so I can share pics. ![Smile :)](https://mlparena.com/Smileys/default/smile_001.gif) It's been ages since I worked on a custom and I had so much fun with this girl, Halloween customs are the best! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginGranate listed three things in her form - ghosts, cats and pumpkins - and I decided to combine all three, as well as some of her favourite colours. The pony was painted using acrylic paints and rehaired with nylon hair from Dollyhair (Black Magick, Hematite, Death by Bougainvillea, Pacific Ocean, Raincloud). The paintwork is fully sealed with Folk Art matte polyurethane varnish. The bait was already a nice purple colour perfect for my design so I gave her a partial repaint rather than a full one. I had some troubles capturing her colours in the photo, her eyes are silver with black and white makeup. I hope you all like her!

A small poll just for fun! I'm sure we have a lot of new customizers here, and there are still some oldies sticking around. ![Wink ;)](https://mlparena.com/Smileys/default/wink_001.gif) So I'm interested to know how productive our currently active members are. How many customs have you made and over what time period (how long have you been customizing MLPs)? Rough estimates are more than welcome if you don't really keep track. Even in my most active days I never considered myself a productive customizer, around 12 was the maximum number I ever did in one year and now it's been more like zero to one per year. ![LOL ](https://mlparena.com/Smileys/default/laugh1.gif) But I started in 2005 and I was actually surprised when I recently went through my photos, I didn't realise I've made so many! I'm currently at 61, counting the Halloween swap custom not yet revealed (and hoping I didn't accidentally miss any). How about you? Fun stats: G1 customs: 24 G2: 0 G3: 31 G4: 2 Fakies: 4 (3 in G1 moulds, 1 other)

With the Halloween custom swap in full swing, and the weather finally turning colder, I'm totally in the mood for autumn. What about you? ![Playing in the leaf pile :leaves:](https://mlparena.com/Smileys/default/leaves.gif) Show me your autumn/Halloween themed ponies, please! Any style, any generation, any skill level... I'd love to see some apples, pumpkins, autumn leaves, scarves, steaming tea cups, witches, cats, candy corn, bats - you name it!

Here's my custom for aintnobuffalo in the Holiday Custom Swap. Christmas trees were one of the things ANB listed in her form so that became the theme for the pony. Since I decided on using a baby G4, I felt that the custom would need a larger setting and accessories to go with her. ANB also mentioned she likes to visit the local Christkindlmarkt and craft fairs and that was perfect for my idea. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginShe was made from a Sweetie Belle bait, fully repainted, and rehaired with Poison Ivy, Candy Apple, Sunlight and Marshmallow nylon from Dollyhair. The snowy base was painted white and partly covered in white flocking mixed with glitter. Her sleigh is an ornament I got from a craft store, the rest of her accessories are handmade. The mug and her tiny pretzels were sculpted with Fimo and painted in acrylics. I chopped some dried gesso to make the salt for the pretzels, and the contents of her mug is red paint mixed with polyurethane varnish. I hope you like her!
