Arts & Crafts Corral / My Little Pony meets Blu-tack!
« on: September 12, 2012, 02:48:04 PM »
Hello everyone!

I'd like to introduce you to my latest My Little Pony art project, which is a blu-tack version of Cotton Candy. 3 years ago I started sculpting with blu-tack, not because it was the most practical material in the world but because it was a challenge and a novelty that I could get pretty good results with it. It's very versatile, and reacts to heat, so as long as your sculptures are kept at room temperature and great pressure isn't put on them, they retain their shape very well once cold/hardened. I made my friend a blu-tack Pokemon Dragonite 2 or 3 years ago (http://rachelbrownoid.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2skzwo), which he showed me only the other week, and it looks as good as new!

Anway, here comes Cotton Candy. She's based on the original G1 model, but with longer hair, because I found it extremely difficult to model the short hair on such a small scale. I've been really busy with school of late, but now that my schedule has freed up a little I hope to make more of these. I think the other five original G1 ponies would be a nice start, what d'you reckon?

I'd love to hear all of your opinions! :)

Hello all!

I'm working on a new MLP art project at the moment, but am stuck at a point where I can't decide which generation should be the basis for my design. G1s are my personal favourites, but which design of pony do you like the most? The more responses the merrier - it'll help me out a lot.

Thanks in advance :)

Rachel
