Off Topic / Im adopting a rescue horse!!!!!
« on: February 19, 2012, 05:08:36 PM »
This chestnut mare is on hold right now for me, once i get the appropriate funds i will be adopting her !!! <3 i cant wait i met her today and took her out for a little ride she is the sweetest thing. but soo underweight still. poor thing   i cant wait to get her weight up and get her healthy. she will be so happy i think.

you can see her on this page under the name "sparty" look at how bad she was when they rescued her in october http://classyquarters.weebly.com/our-rescues.html it makes me so angry at whoever did that to her

http://classyquarters.weebly.com/sparty.html

This her now, but she still needs more weight. i'm already in LOVE <3  I want to give her lots of love. this poor baby deserves all the attention in the world!   her backstory is that a man foaled her for the first time when she was 17 years old!!!!   and when the foal died he deemed her useless and locked her in a shed without food for months..  and she started eating the fencing and dirt  and the only water she got was the mud she was standing in or whatever melted snow and rainwater got to her.         i hope he gets what he deserves... Karma.

 I hope she will be happy with me.     she loves to give kisses and ran right up to me in the pasture today.

Pony Corral / How do you have a "local collectors sale"
« on: February 16, 2012, 05:19:01 PM »
 Forgive me for my ignorance.   But i was curious as to how have other collectors sold off their extras (i have a TON of them)   lots of g1's already cleaned and ready for new homes, i have an extra paradise estate, lots of g3's, tons of g1 LPS.
and i need to sell asap   so i can adopt the horse i am looking to adopt.   :P

So how have you others had local collectors sales?  would it be nice to do a small meet?  or just announce it as a garage sale type thing for collectors only?

Off Topic / Any "riding" horse owners out there?
« on: February 12, 2012, 05:41:56 PM »
:lookround:  I'm seriously looking at purchasing a rideable horse for myself as i used to ride often but the last 2 years with the surgeries knocked me out of the game.   I have been severely depressed and feeling bad about myself lately and i think i need an outlet to regain some independence.  not to mention it would be nice to have a nice companion.  If i am able to afford him i am going to try to board him at a local facility  (this is a rescue horse that im trying to gather money for and he is older and very gentle and calm).

 any tips for boarding horses?

I have a horse already but he lives down in texas right now and i do not ride him as he is only for stud use and is not broken.  So i have never had to board a horse anywhere before so i'm wondering what all i should need BEFORE purchasing a horse.   and what i should look out for and what all i need to know about horse boarding.

Please and Thank you  :) <3
