Pony Brag Arena / Rarity's Carriage
« on: August 03, 2012, 10:36:54 PM »
Last weekend, I found a Rarity's Gem Carriage at a Walmart in Georgia for $3.75.  The box was only slightly, slightly battered, so I snapped that baby up pretty quick.

It's frustrating how the trains are EVERYWHERE and it's next to impossible to find the cars that go with the train!

Pony Corral / Random bit of pony silliness...
« on: August 03, 2012, 04:25:55 AM »
Okay, you all know how sometimes when you search for something on Ebay, it will also give you a search suggestion?  As in "Did you mean .....?"  Well, when I search for "My Little Pony Glitterbelle", Ebay asks me if I meant "My Little Pony Belly".

What the hay?  Is it suggesting this because people have actually searched for "My Little Pony Belly" in the past?  Weird :|

Pony Corral / G3.5 TAF Names and Glitter Names
« on: July 25, 2012, 10:19:42 AM »
For a while now I have been trying to collect all of the G3.5 Twice as Fancy Names and the G3.5 Ponies with their names done in glitter across their bodies.  So here's my question: was a Toola Roola Glitter Name even made?  I have never even seen a picture of one.

Trader & Shipping Support / Cancelling ebay bids...

Does anyone know how to cancel an ebay bid?  If you do this, does it hurt your feedback?  Is there some kind of penalty?

Pony Corral / Mint in Box/Mint on Card G1's, Condition of packaging
« on: July 18, 2012, 06:55:15 PM »
Does anybody really pay hundreds of dollars for MIB/MOC G1s where the packaging is damaged?  Why would you want it in the packaging if the packaging looks awful?  I see things going for big bucks on ebay with dents, rips, tears, rubs, smudges, and/or multiple twenty-five-year-old sale price stickers.  I just don't get it.

I would love to someday have some MIB/MOC G1's, but only if the packaging still looks good.  Otherwise, what's the point?

Introductions / Hello from svleonard
« on: July 09, 2012, 05:22:41 PM »
Hello Everypony!  I joined a couple of weeks ago but have just now gotten around to doing the introduction.

I am a 28 year old graduate student currently living in Atlanta, Georgia and working towards an MA in Art History at Georgia State University.  I am originally from North Carolina.  I have two awesome, beautiful sisters and a wonderful boyfriend who shares my joy of toy collecting (mostly Star Wars and model kits, although he helps out considerably with my pony-collecting efforts).

I have been collecting ponies for about two years.  I bought my first collector's pony at a yard sale in Pennsylvania for a quarter: a Butterscotch with concave feet.  This lucky find piqued my interest in pony collecting.  I collect most G1's, especially regular babies (not Newborns, Beddy-Bye Eyes, or First Tooth's), Sweetheart Sisters, and "traditional" ponies (non So Soft, non Flutter, non Sweet Talking etc).  I also collect G3's, both in and out of the box, G3.5's, and G4's.

My collection is always growing.  Right now, I have a complete set of the US-released G4 ponies with saddles/wagons and animal friends; a complete set of the original Sweetheart Sisters, all with intact earrings; a set of the original Rainbow Haired ponies; several special edition Pony Fair/Comic Con ponies, including the new :muffin: Pony; and many, many more.  My favorite pony is a Rainbow Curl with perfect ringlets that my boyfriend gave me as a surprise gift (I had bought this pony from a drugstore when I was little and regretted no longer having her).

I also do a bit of 2D pony art, just for fun.  I sometimes do pony versions of characters from tv shows, and I like to invent my own fantasy ponies too.  I don't know how to use computer art software, so I just do pen and colored pencil work.

I am excited about joining the forum and hope to meet new friends!
