I got my NSS Wind Whistler home from the MLP Fair and she has some marks on her.  The biggest almost look like a scuff mark being darker blue and having parallel lines in it and being a tiny yellow patch.  I'm also afraid she might have pin-dot mold on her cheek as she has batch of tiny brown dots.  Other than that she's in great condition.  Her plastic is still soft, her hair is still pink, what I listed above is the extent of her imperfections.

Anyway, I tried to use a Scotch-Brite Easy Eraser pad to clean her but it didn't do much to the mark on her shoulder.  Are Scotch-Brite Easy Eraser pads as good as Mr. Clean Magic Eraser pads at cleaning ponies?  If they are, then what is the mark and what are good ways to get rid of it.  I know sun-fading Wind Whistler is a hazardous process.

Pony Corral / What Would You Want to See in a MLP Movie
« on: May 16, 2013, 08:34:30 AM »
With Equestria Girls coming out a month from today, I thought I would ask this question.

What would you want a proper My Little Pony movie to be about?  And what would your kids want a My Little Pony movie to be about if you them?
-Would you want a Friendship is Magic movie or a separate continuity about a different group or community of ponies?
-Would you want the bad guy(s) to a Friendship is Magic villain, a reworked villain from an older generation, or a completely original villain?
-Would you want humans to be in it?  If yes, would you want the ponies to come to earth (and remain ponies) or the humans to end up in the ponies' world?

So, what would you want?  And feel free comment on aspects you'd like to see even if it doesn't answer any of these questions.  They were just general questions I could think of.

Pony Corral / A G1 Animation Project
« on: February 12, 2013, 01:46:10 AM »
Hello.  I'm not sure if this topic goes here, but if it doesn't, could it be moved to where it should be.

Anyway, I am heading up a non-profit animation project featuring the Generation 1 ponies in the FiM style.  We are currently in the early stages of developing concept art and we have a for the most part final script of the pilot.  It will feature Wind Whistler, Fizzy, Tootsie, Gusty, Shady, and Flutterbye as the main characters.  It will also feature Majesty as the (mostly) kind, old queen of the ponies.  Just about all of the Year 2-4 U.S. released ponies as well as the Big Brother Ponies, U.K. Mountain Boys (as unicorns,) and some OC stallions and colts will also be making some kind of appearance as minor characters or in background cameos.   Megan and her family (including her father and mother) will also appear as a family moving out of the city to restart of a foreclosed horse ranch in Northern Indiana that happens to be connected by rainbow to another dimension populated by colorful ponies.  Many of the ponies' classic foes will also be making a return.

We're hoping to get permission from Hasbro to use the My Little Pony brand legally.  However, we might need help.  For Hasbro to consider giving us permission, they probably want to know how it would benefit them.  One of my thoughts is this could be a way to raise the profile of the G1 ponies without Hasbro first putting down money to trademark them.  If our pilot episode goes over well, it could reveal the demand for G1 ponies I've seen here and elsewhere and generate more demand.  If the demand is great enough, it would convince Hasbro it would be profitable to trademark the old ponies.  That would mean more ponies to sell which would mean more money for Hasbro.

It would help if we could get proof there is a demand in the first place.  I know there are many G1 fans here.  If we could get support from the collector community (particularly collectors who are parents of little kids,) Hasbro might see they have something to gain by giving us permission to use their brand.  We're getting some support in the brony community (many of the current staff are bronies,) but I think the voice of the collectors and parents will ring louder with Hasbro.

We could also use staff.  We're looking for animators, storyboarders, background artists, and particularly female voice talent (as well as some male voice talent) at the moment.  We have a site in the works (I'll post the link when it's presentable) and we're working on vectors of the main characters.

Thank you for your time and any help (even if it's just moral support) you can give us.

Pony Corral / The MLP and Friends Writing Guide

Since the original thread is now so old you can't reply to it, I'm making a new thread to ask if the person who was posting in it has fixed their computer problems and if so wanted to post more.  It really peeked my interest and I wanted to see more of it.

Deader than Disco.  I should be a comedian.

Anyway.  My Little Wiki has been giving me database errors since some time Friday afternoon.

Pony Corral / FiM Hits the Salvation Army
« on: October 20, 2012, 07:02:28 PM »
I work at the Salvation (for only a week more) and my job is putting the little tags on the clothing.  This week one of the racks had a pair of little girl's panties with Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie on the front.  No pics.

Anyone else seen FiM stuff at thrift stores?

EDIT:  And ironically this post rids me of my ouchy roids.

Pony Corral / I Had Either a Stupid or Engenius Idea.
« on: May 22, 2012, 07:15:40 PM »
After seeing the arguments about the plush maker getting a C&D from Hasbro, I had a crazy idea.

As you know, Hasbro no longer has rights to most G1 ponies, the exceptions being ponies who have G3 counterparts (like Applejack and Moondancer.)

G1 ponies fell prey to what is known as trademark dilution.  This is when others use your trademark for commercial purposes without your permission and you don't defend your exclusivity to it.  In this case, when Disney bought out Marvel Productions and started using ponies for their own purposes, Hasbro not saying anything cost them the claim of trademark (this is my guess.)  There are also other MLP licenses floating around.

Anyway, since these trademarks no longer exist, I thought of this.  What if fans banded together to form an entity to claim the old ponies as their trademarks, perhaps adding a title to the pony name like "Gusty the unicorn pony" as an example, then they sell the trademark to Hasbro for a low price?  Believe it or, this would be be legal.

Off Topic / I Would Like get in Contact with Hasbro
« on: May 21, 2012, 03:40:08 PM »
I'm trying to get in contact with Hasbro studios about becoming a writer.  I've been writing mock scripts for the fun of it, and people have comment on not just the quality of the characters and plots, but the professionalism of the scripts.  They've suggested I might do well becoming a professional.  Well, figuring I got nothing to lose and trying to find my place in the world, I thought I would give it a try.  However, I need to make contacts with Hasbro which means networking.

Anyone with the ear of anyone at the big H?  Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Introductions / Um...hi
« on: May 17, 2012, 03:05:31 PM »
Yeah.  Hi.  I'm Al-1701, and I've been a longtime fan of the original cartoon and FiM.  I've never been much of a collector of anything, but I'm fascinated by the finds here.  I'm a G1 fanfic writer, and I find the information about the actual toys and other sources interesting and helpful.
