Is anyone else dismayed by the sellout? I miss Songza and don't like Google Play's interface at all...

Some of you may have already seen them posted in the BJD thread, but if not, here are Afi and Ekua, my dablyop dino-aliens made by ApoDoll. Both are modeling altered Momoko clothes by etsy's jiajia. Afi was the last lilac available, and the turquoise was sold out. I was crushed, as I really wanted turquoise more. But I got lilac and was VERY pleased with her. I sent her off to a painter in the Czech Republic, whose faceup on her own turquoise I had been admiring for ages. Long story short, she decided to sell hers and that's how I managed to get them both. I am very, very lucky! Ceryop, their lavender friend, will soon be on the way. That just leaves the green ceryop to hunt down! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginEkua Says Hello! by tuneful87, on Flickr visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAfi by tuneful87, on Flickr visitors can't see pics , please register or loginEkua, Plotting by tuneful87, on Flickr visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAfi by tuneful87, on Flickr visitors can't see pics , please register or loginEkua by tuneful87, on Flickr visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAfi by tuneful87, on Flickr

I've been out of the loop when it comes to customs.
In the past, I used to commission like crazy...in total I have close to 70. However, I've switched gears a bit and am focusing more on other collections. I have a few customs I'm considering selling, but honestly, I have no clue how to price them.
Many of them involve sculpting (wings, horns, feathered hooves, etc) and were made by well-known customizers who, according to my knowledge, are no longer making customs. So I don't know if that would factor into the price at all.
Anyhow, I'd be interested in knowing how you price your pre-owned customs. In your experience, is it better to set a price and accept offers, do it auction style with anonymous bidding, or send them off to ebay?

This function hasn't worked for me for months now. I always get a server error. Occasionally it will work, but rarely...

This one is not for the faint of heart...hehe...
Instead of basing it on a minimum dollar amount, I was thinking of breaking it down by numbers + going rate. For example, we would each get 4 pets worth approx $1-5 apiece, 4 pets worth approx $6-10 apiece, and 2 pets worth approx $10+. This would ensure that one of us didn't end up getting just the more common, lower priced LPS on our wantlists. Each would submit a wantlist broken into the 3 categories. It would take some work to research the going rates (reviewing completed ebay listings is a good check) and it will end up getting a bit pricey, so this private swap is ideally for someone who is OK with spending a few more bucks than normal.
Ideally, each partner would submit 10-20 wants per category to give a good selection, and both parties would be expected to get pets off the wantlists only.
I was thinking 4-6 weeks for shopping.
If anyone is interested, let me know!

I figured I'd create this thread to discuss the more bizarre-looking creatures of the BJD world (so strictly non-human looking dolls like aliens and such...not mythological type humans with horns/hooves/wings/etc). I can go on and on about my favorites, but I figured I'd get the ball rolling with Argonautica. Only the little versions are for sale now, so I'm planning to get one in purple and one in green. Just waiting to see photos of them at that size, as the creator only has photos in white and translucent blue at this time. Here are the faces of the larger dolls: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginPrias by Svetlana, on Flickr visitors can't see pics , please register or loginKios by Svetlana, on Flickr And the smaller doll, which is about 12" I think: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginLittle Pri by Svetlana, on Flickr

Oh, the sadness!
Just now I took out all of my Big Brothers today, and I was absolutely devastated to discover that my formerly mint Tux has pale brown spots all over his face and rump, and worse, they were glistening. I've never seen anything so mortifying before. It looked like he had a disease. I washed him and the glisten is gone, but of course the age spots are still there.
Had this happened to anyone else? I'm assuming it is plasticizer leakage....does that sound right?

Is this a proper way of straightening G1 tinsel? I have a Princess Dawn who desperately needs help. Her tinsel is horribly crinkled!
