I don't like to collect things when I can't actually display them, even if I'm the only one who ever sees them. (And my hubby, but he won't notice if the BB's aren't on display.) And then, while trying to find a cheap hot wheels display on ebay, I realized I own a sewing machine, and maybe, just maybe.....

Yup. It works perfectly. It was a shoe holder, but do anyone's shoes actually fit in those things? But with a little sewing and cutting, it's a BB holder. I can keep them in order, see who I have doubles of, who is missing...
But now I need them all. Dangit. I love buying them from Hasbro, all neatly boxed so I can be sure I get each one, but they're finally on wave 2 now. I hate being patient!

Has anyone else been sucked in by their tiny cuteness? How do you cope? How do you shop? How do you afford them! And how do you display them?

If they lived in Ponyville/Ponyland/Friendship Gardens/Equestria, what would they be like? Where would they live? What would their job be?

I'm not sure why I've been thinking about this so much, but Aurora wanted to be rounded out a little more! So if she lived in Equestria, I think she would run a Planetarium and nature reserve. Maybe a day camp for fillies and colts? She wants to teach, but she doesn't want to be a teacher in a school. She wants to be outside!
She's a little shy to those that don't know her, but warm and chatty with her friends. She likes to sit and watch the world go by, and doesn't mind if a little rain falls on her. She also likes to keep busy- she's not one to sit and watch television!
She lives at the Planetarium, in a little room off to the side. She doesn't have a lot of stuff, unless you count the crafting materials for making things with the kids when they come to visit.

Hi! So in case the subject line isn't obvious enough, I'm not currently shopping for anything for myself. This list is for swap partners and a reference for me, though you can certainly feel free to read through it!
 
I'm not fussy about condition. I know some of these ponies are hard to find, and if the only way I ever get Ice Crystal is to find him without hair, so be it! I do prefer that my ponies are recognizeable as themselves and that they don't have any live mold- husband is allergic to everything!
 
If something doesn't make sense, or there are multiple versions of a pony and you just aren't sure which one I mean, just let me know (probably through the swap host...). I tried to keep everyone straight, but that doesn't mean it worked.

Non-pony gift ideas for me: Donations to charities. I love Public Radio and the Humane Society, Toys for Tots and similar organizations. Donations to the Arena are always good, too!

I like handmade soap, like the stuff I find at craft sales. I like socks, I have large lady feet.

I love art of ponies- my favorites are Firefly and Glory, I also love Aurora and Discord. Anyone else is good, too. I'm actually really getting into the art of ponies, I'm trying to frame what I have so it displays nicely. Crafts are also good, but I do dearly love things I can hang on the wall.
