Trader & Shipping Support / Non Paying Bidder: mcal2041 (Monster High)
« on: March 02, 2013, 07:35:37 PM »
Since there are a lot of Monster High collectors here, beware of this non paying bidder on eBay: mcal2041

She purchased SDCC Ghoulia from me using Buy It Now. No payment, no contact. I did report her & got my fees back.

Update: one more time for both of these girls. Ghoulia was BIN-ed on eBay, but the buyer never paid. Frankie was on hold here at the Arena, but the buyer never confirmed that she was taking her. Both are back up for grabs now listed on ebay:

I'm thinking about letting go of my Comic Con Monster High dolls. If I don't get any serious buyers here, they will be moved to ebay in a few days. I have a bunch of pictures available, just ask. ;)

Shipping will be by Priority mail only. This includes anyone outside of the US. I know this method is expensive, but it's the only way to get some kind of tracking & partial insurance. To get a shipping quote please pm me your zipcode if in the US or country for the rest of the world.

Please pm me if interested. Serious buyers only. No trades. No payment plans. Payment expected with 2 days/48 hours of a sale agreement. Thanks for your understanding. :)

I'm re-homing some stuff in an effort to clear out the clutter & pay off some bills. I have a few things on eBay that might interest the dolly collectors. :)

I recently purchased an auction on ebay (non-pony) that was non as described. I messaged the seller & he agreed to a refund upon return. I've never actually returned something to a cooperative seller without having to open a case, lol! What's the proper way to go about returning the item, so that A.) I'm protected & have provided tracking with ebay and B.) the seller gets his fees back?

I feel silly asking this, but it's one of the few things on ebay that I've never encountered & can't seem to find a quick answer on ebay's system.

I got an email from the lady who sold me the last 4 Integrity Jems & it looks like the 3 original Holograms will be released next. Still at $119 a piece. This is the first I've heard about the next set of dolls, so I'm guessing they are only at the point of distributors being able to place their orders. I'm exited to see what these 3 will look like.

Edit to add: She just replied that they will be on her website Monday & should arrive in March.

MLP Nirvana / Price Check: Greek pony wear Tennis outfit, loose
« on: January 07, 2013, 09:40:00 PM »
I have a loose Greek Tennis outfit that includes the dress & visor (both in excellent condition) & 4 white bow shoes. I don't think the shoes are original to this outfit (my MOC version has pink shoes), but they are Greek & look nice with the dress. No tennis racket.

I got this outfit with a pony I bought awhile back & have no idea what to value it since the other Greek pony wear I own was bought MOC.

In another thread, rosierjay requested pics of these girls. I thought it would be easier for future search efforts to put them in their own thread. ;)

Sigs & Site Support / Floating box with thread preview?
« on: December 26, 2012, 03:36:33 PM »
I see we have a new feature of a floating box with a preview of the thread. Is there a way to turn this feature off (for individual users)? I mainly view the Arena on my iPhone & the floating box is kind of difficult to deal with. Thanks! :)

MLP Nirvana / Wanted: Greek Lambitisa, sitting candle pony
« on: December 21, 2012, 06:23:33 PM »
Just wondering if anyone is selling (or thinking about selling) a Greek Lambitisa (sitting pony with candles symbol). She's been on the top of my want list for a long time & hubby has given me the ok for "one expensive pony purchase". :P If you are looking to sell her, please pm me.

I've been selling g3's on my husband's ebay account to build up a good selling reputation & work through getting the paypal holds taken off & what-not. The account appears to be new-ish to ebay & particularly selling, but I've been selling under my own account since '97. Let's just say that I know the ropes of ebay. ;)

On all of my listings I have the following payment terms:
"PAYMENT INFORMATION:
I only accept payments via Paypal at this time.  Payment is expected within 3 days of the end of an auction. Non-paying bidder cases will be opened after the 4th day, so please bid responsibly. If you win multiple auctions, please wait for an invoice for combined shipping cost before sending payment. Due to current volume of sales, I can only offer combined shipping for items ending within 3 days of each other."

I use ebay automatic non-paying bidder case opener thingie, so cases open on the 4th day.

Today I had a case open, and shortly after the buyer paid. Then sent me this message:
"Why did you open an unpaid item dispute and it has only been 4 days since I won the auction. You did not even bother sending me a message or anything. I think you would be a better seller if you bothered contacting the people who won your auctions. <removing personal info about family emergency> You have no idea what is happening in other people's lives and should really give someone a chance to pay for their items before opening a dispute. I am not new to EBay and have great transactions. Check out my rating. You could have contacted me if you we're concerned about the payment. I will never buy from you again and will describe why in my feedback. These items better be as described to the tee or you will have a major complaint from me and EBay will know. Have a great day."

I replied:
"Hi,
First off, I'm very sorry to hear about <again removing personal family emergency info>. I know how difficult that is.
I have an automatic setting to open non-paying cases after the 4th day. Here's a copy & paste of the payment information from the auction:
"PAYMENT INFORMATION:

I only accept payments via Paypal at this time.  Payment is expected within 3 days of the end of an auction. Non-paying bidder cases will be opened after the 4th day, so please bid responsibly. If you win multiple auctions, please wait for an invoice for combined shipping cost before sending payment. Due to current volume of sales, I can only offer combined shipping for items ending within 3 days of each other."

I'm sorry that you feel that these terms are unfair, but it's clearly stated in the auction listing. Everyone has their own problems, believe me. I'm selling things on eBay to make ends meet because my hours were cut back at work.

Thank you for your business."

I reported their message as "feedback extortion" then called ebay to see what my options were. The ebay rep told me to send the buyer a message offering to cancel the transaction & refund their money. I can't cancel the transaction unless they agree to this because only 1 case can be opened per item, and this item already had a non-paying case. If the buyer won't agree to cancel, I will have to follow through on shipping their items & hope they don't leave bad feedback.  IF they do leave bad feedback, I will have to call ebay to request that it be removed due to the previous threat of feedback extortion in their message.

This is very frustrating because the whole reason I have been selling under hubby's account is to establish a GOOD record, and I'm only a few weeks away from getting out of the paypal fee holding phase.  :argh: :argh: :argh:

So, if you have made it this far, I'd give you a cookie but this is all we got... :tort:
The buyer's id is: rphgray & they purchased MIB g3's for me.

Updated Oct. 25th:
Ok, so it appears that the buyer has received her items & left me positive feedback. So I guess everything has blown over in the end.

Here's the rest of what happened, in case anyone cares to know:
as I mentioned in a post below, she sent me 3 additional messages within an hours time refusing to cancel the sale, demanding her items right away, saying I was ruining her kid's Christmas, ect. I reported them to ebay as feedback extortion & harassment where appropriate. The I sent her this message:

"Your items are packed & will ship out tomorrow. In your first message you threatened me with bad feedback before receiving your items. This is known as "feedback extortion" and has been reported to ebay. I spoke with an ebay rep on the phone, and was advised to offer the cancellation of the sale because of your documented feedback threat. Ebay provides the automatic non-paying case opener as a service to sellers. I'm truly sorry for your troubles, but I have done nothing but follow ebay's rules & advice from their customer service rep. I hope you enjoy your items.
Thank you."

The following evening she sent me a lengthy message that started off in the tone of an apology, but turned into scolding me as an inexperienced seller who would be losing any future business with her. I decided not to reply. Today she left positive feedback for me & presumably a decent star rating (since the feedback is fairly low on this account, anyone who leaves a rating of less than 4 stars would be pretty obvious), so maybe she felt bad in the end?? Who knows! I'm just glad that things appear to have had a happy ending.

I'm looking for Fashion Style Twilight Sparkle. I'm only interested in the ponies (no need for accessories), so loose is fine. I can find them in most stores near me, so I'm only looking to either buy them for less than retail or trade.

I have a long list of MIB g3's for sale that I can offer as trade: http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,307734.msg439116.html#msg439116

I also have a few MIB g4 items that I can offer as trade:
Pinkie Pie & Sweetie Belle set
Applejack's Barn TRADED
Twilight Sparkle wave 1 (with bangs)
Twinkleshine

Thanks for reading. :)

Edit to add: Fluttershy is on the way, only looking for Twilight now. Thanks! :cheer:

Does anyone have experience with Paypal reporting you to the IRS? I just got an notification that Paypal needs my tax information because I've either hit or am close to the point of needing to have the money reported as income ($20,000 in a year is the cut off).

The problem is that the majority of what I've sold this year was not mine. I have been selling a large amount of ponies & stuff for a friend. The money passed through my account, and then I sent it off to it's rightful owner. So all of that money wasn't my "income", and now I have no idea how to handle this situation.

Has anyone had experience with this? What portion of the incoming Paypal money is expected to go to the IRS?
