MLP Nirvana / PC and ID on some Italian ponies?
« on: August 21, 2012, 10:37:06 AM »
Hello!

I recently got a box of 'baity' Italy ponies from eBay. After a scrub and some long they came up pretty well.

I would love any ID and price information that you have!

Basically, I have:

-Seashell in very good condition, minimal marks if any, and her hair is gorgeous (tail is probably trimmed).
-Seashell with a very nice body, buzz cut to the first few plugs of her mane, and her inner tail eyelet is rusted. Her tail is probably trimmed.
-Bubbles with a tail trim, I can't spot any other flaws. She was just grubby!
-Sunbeam with a chew to her horn tip, and her symbols are basically shadows.
-Moonstone (walking pose) with dry hair, and a few pink marks on her feet, but her symbols are great.
-Sparkler with a fringe trim, no tail (it was a rusted mess and had about 2" left so it's gone), good symbols/eyes but some red biro/pen on her legs.
-Peachy - overall condition is good, she has a black pen mark around one DS heart.

And the weird ones, are these two variants or victims of Italy's quality control?

-Cotton Candy (tall): Lighter coloured body, concave feet with markings on all four feet, she has some defects/mold goo between her legs and she stands taller than the other Cotton Candy. Her symbols are white, her eyes/hair are pretty nice but she's missing some plugs at the base of her mane.

-Cotton Candy (short): Shooort! She has concave feet with markings on two feet, her eyes/symbols are good, she has a chew/cut on her back leg at the knee, and she's shorter than the other Cotton Candy, as well as a bit darker. She doesn't have nearly as much of a problem with moulding goop etc. She's missing plugs at the base of her mane, and a few from her forelock have been snipped

Off Topic / PC: Seeking 'My Beautiful Horses' information and prices?
« on: August 16, 2012, 01:15:35 PM »
Hi guys,

I have a load of "My Beautiful Horses" toys that I am looking to rehome. Last time I did this I got royally shot in the foot when someone off-arena bought different toys from me. Since these ponies are from my childhood collection, I really don't want to lose them to people for them to sell-on, and I also don't want to be seen as over-charging because I don't know the market.

The photos of the ponies I have currently located are here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/tam5hogzgh8zn1q/jpiDhrg8Sg

I know I have a ton more riders, accessories, vehicles and everything else, even the wedding carriage. I know I didn't throw any away, but my mum may have culled them in my absence.

Any help - even names - would be most appreciated! :3

Hello hello! I am still around - message me if you have anything you think I may be interested in, I will spot messages faster than comments on my thread!

 :nerdy:
Notes:
-I am not a picky collector.
-Hair trims/cuts/hilariously stylish buzz cuts are fine
-Small pen marks are fine, ponies covered in biro are not (unless I am after baits).
-Rust-spots don't bother me at all, internal black mould or massive internal rust does.

 :work:
G1 wants:
-Dazzleglow with blue hearts

G3 wants:
-Sunrise - earth pony, teal, coral hair
-May Birthflower TRU exclusive
-GIANT PLUSH - any please!

MLP Nirvana / Venezuela 'squeaky bum' ponies?!
« on: July 30, 2012, 03:17:00 PM »
I went looking on eBay to see how much the Venny ponies go for, and I came across a couple of auctions (they are still live so I can't link them) who are MLP molds, supposedly made as pinata prizes...with squeakers in their bum! They have no tail, and no rooted hair, and appear to be from the school of 'what the buck ever' colour combinations vs their symbols.

... I ... had to bid at least once. That's too hilarious not to see in-the-flesh, even if they do arrive opened and with their heads popped due to crazystupid customs and postage.

Does it make me a bad person that I'd want to de-bag one and give her some hair?

This put something of a dampener on my week. If anyone else bought from this seller on eBay I would be VERY interested to know what condition your ponies were in! They had three/four lots up, mostly containing bits of the G1 Party and Sleepover sets, and a Hollywood/spike among them. This is what I won:

Pretty neat? $51 for that lot. A load of nice looking ponies and some extras. When they arrived, several weeks later (and granted this is coming from the USA but these ponies were really taking their sweet time) I opened the box and reeled from the SMELL.

BBE Frosting and Gusty are covered in orange rust stains
Mondancer and Glory are covered in surface filth and grime
Cotton Candy is covered in mould
Windy... the less said the better. She has mould growing on her in swathes.
Celebrate (the seapony) and Lucky both have/had highlighter marks.
And Rosedust's perfect  pink factory curl? Those orangey stains in the photo are some kind of goo.

I can clean up most of these girls and I'm trying to do so, I did snap photos of the worst ones and will add them to this thread. The seller is:
mwinternetauctionsonmain
Auction link: here

Ponies were sold 'as seen' but didn't arrive 'as seen' in the auction photo! What can I do here? I'm seriously peeved at this person.

Pony Corral / Shooting yourself in the metaphorical foot?
« on: January 19, 2012, 04:36:38 PM »
Eyup. I just did this. I put up ponies/accessories for far less than their current market worth, and they've sold. I've found out that they are worth several times what I listed them for and I'm feeling quite...rubbish really. On the one hand I used prices I think are fair and good, and I hope that the people who want all these items are collectors who want to avoid eBay insanity price hikes, on the other hand I hope I didn't just give away what's essentially a month's rent to someone who will resell the items!

So, go on, misery loves company, what/who did you ever undersell or not realise the value of?

(and for reference, I will not go back on agreed prices with people who have already had things put on hold/sold with me. I don't think that'd be right)
