I'm working on making a bait-ish Merry Treats into a Purfume Puff, and had few questions. How do you like to apply a blush touch up? Q-tip? Airbrush? Is there a certain color you find matches well? On one side of my Merry Treats, the blush is great, whereas the other has a spot missing in the middle. I would like to match the color and effect close enough to have the sides match and the center not appear to be touched up by me, but I am worried I will have to remove it all to make it look right. Have you ever scented a yarn rehair/ perfume puff custom? I have scents from Dollyhair that can be applied to doll hair by boiling the hair in water and the oil, but I was not sure how boiling would affect the yarn. Will it fall apart too much to root? Do I need to root it first to prevent that? Will it cause the yarn to fall flat on the pony rather than poof? Should I try to just apply the oil to the yarn directly to prevent boiling issues, or will that causes other issues I am not thinking of? Any thoughts or experience on the matter would be helpful! Otherwise, I suppose I will be doing a lot of experimentation.

I've got strawberries one my mind, and I am craving the taste and smell! They are such a cute fruit and have been a theme in several ponies. (There must be about a dozen of them!) Do you have any? Or maybe even a custom with a strawberry theme? If so, share some pics with us? If you don't have a strawberry themed pony is there one you really wish you did? Is there a strawberry themed pony you wish Hasbro would have done? I'm not sure if I will ever have her, but I really like G1 Strawberry Surprise. I also like G3 Sweetberry and G1 Sugarberry (especially her Nirvana variants).

So I came across and purchased a Minty variant I didn't have yet for a very good price in "played with" condition. She actually is in pretty great condition, but she has a light sent to her like bad breath. I have come across or heard of a lot of different smells, but nothing quite like this!
I washed her really well which did not seem to make a big difference. I wonder if I should try to open her up? Or try deodorizing her in the same way smoke smell is removed? The odor is only noticeable if you hold her to your face, but will she affect the other Mintys on display next to her?
Anyone else ever come across a pony smelling like bad breath?

Here's my entry into the Hasbro inspired category of the custom competition. I really liked Lauren Faust's inspiration for the Mane 6, so I wanted to create them as they may have appeared in their original form. I most enjoyed doing Twilight and Sparkler; I love their colors! Uninu came to me asking to do a swap, and I got the opportunity to learn about another world in literature! I have heard of Discworld before, but I did not know too much about it. I had a lot of fun learning about Death, reading a little bit of Terry Pratchett's work, and watching a couple fun cartoons of parts with Death in it. Check out the custom I made below. (Sorry if I'm double posting, I didn't see a thread on this yet but could have missed it.) Are our Orlando friends OK? It is so scary to think of a safe place for the community being violated like this. The social media around the event has me feeling all kinds of ways. I'm seeing the good, the bad, and the ugly, but I'm trying to see and focus on the good. I'm hoping our pony friends in the LGBT community and in Orlando are holding up. So I'm working on my first wig requiring significant styling for a Rarity cosplay for the fair. I've been reading and watching lots of tutorials, but am not 100% sure how to do her front hair curl, since for large curls, most tutorials look at spiral vertical curls. I'm wondering if I need to create a foam support? Would a material like worbla foam would be able to be shaped like her curl and support a hair coating? I've never worked with materials that are used to make armor and have no idea of different materials capabilities. I have styled little bushables, but don't think a straw and boil method would work on this scale.  Any guidance with Rarity wigs at all? visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Can anyone give me an idea of the color differences between the bodies of Twilight and Firefly? I only have a Firefly, so I don't have a Twilight to directly compare the two. It would be great if someone could show me a picture of the two side by side, if possible! I'm thinking they are barely different or that Twilight is a little lighter and peachier while Firefly is a bit more higher saturation and darker pink?

For the videogame swap, I created a pony-fied Leafeon for rosierjay! She had so many great options, and I wanted to do her suggestion of Dragons: Rise of Berk, but I just couldn't figure out how to make it look the way I wanted. I did have some ideas for eeveelutions, so I tried leafeon out. The tail is so fragile!! I did a cutie mark on just one side in case rosierjay preferred to keep her displayed without one. As one of my Christmas presents, by husband covered the song "That's What I Love about Christmas" from one of my favorite Christmas movies A Very Minty Christmas! He often does metal covers or remixes. He said it was a bit hard to use the mono sound of the old movie, but I still like it. Does anyone know of a product that would look like mud on a pony body and hair? Is there something in diorama crafting that would achieve the look? I have used glossy modge podge to look like caramel, so I'm wondering if perhaps a matte version would work as mud.
Has anyone added "mud" to a custom? Please feel free share your "messy" customs pics!

I opened the box right after seeing the Nutcracker in person for the first time, so the cute Lalaloopsy extras make me think of the Nutcracker Prince and Princess Masha (Clara), so I have named them so and have them with my Nutcracker snow globe. So I made this pony for the Halloween Swap. My partner wanted a reaper pony and really liked her cloak. She also requested long hair (this one glows!), but I somewhat wish I had used two hanks to make it longer. I've not really left hair long or unstyled, so that was new for me. The skull lines were perfect... and then when I sealed it the ink bled all over.  I'm so sad about what I had to do to make it look acceptable (maybe I should have just sanded it off and started over?) because now it's not near as good, but I certainly learned my lesson about using anything but acrylics with sealer. This was my first experience with sewing on a small scale, and it turned out better than I expected. My favorite part was making the scythe! I've never mad a small scale weapon before, so it was fun trying to figure out how to get it to look right. Originally this bride pose bait was missing an ear and chewed up. Rapunzel's hair style helped me hide my repair, but it was still a learning experience and not perfect.
