Once upon a time, just a few weeks ago...I have no idea what sparked this dream, but I certainly don't want to relive it. :yikes:

Somehow I was on a mountain. Really snowy, high altitude...apparently I was sledding or something with my brothers. There was a medium density of pine trees, but...well, the overall feeling of the place freaked me out. Like in a horror movie. It was about midday, so it wasn't darkness that made me shiver. I crossed paths with one of my younger brothers, but he went on to the next ridge. I was trudging along, crouching and cowering like something massive was about to leap out at me...

Then I saw a pony. On a rock almost fully buried in the snow. Somewhere under a pine tree (sort of). It was some kind of international G1 Applejack--I'm no good at identifying nirvanas, but I knew in my gut that she was real and rare. As quietly as I could, I snatched her up and tucked her under my coat, despite those creepy (almost real) staring eyes. o_O

I kept walking along, downhill (working towards the west), when I spotted another creepy nirvana Applejack staring at me from behind a tree. Despite my brain screaming at me to turn back, I pressed on...and over the course of minutes, the mountain was dotted with half-hidden nirvanas and incomplete prototypes (not only Applejack). As much as Applejack was once in abundance, I started to notice Windy Wings and flutters, particularly Cool Breeze. I snatched up as many as possible, knowing that soon I would have to run (from who-knows-what) and get the heck out of there. The trees began to thin out and the ponies became more menacing. I was ready to race away, but I didn't.

A dark, horrible ramshackle hut (like seen in a horror movie) seemed to materialize out of the clearing. There were ponies almost every two feet surrounding the hut--all G1s, extremely rare, and terribly tantalizing. There were no birds singing; just pure silence. Again, I snatched up as many as possible, then, just as I felt a shadow cross the clearing, I bolted.

The ponies still stared.

It was at that point that I was in my bedroom (where I used to live, up in MI), gasping for breath and tenderly setting the ponies down on my second bed. That was when I started having my doubts about stealing the ponies. They were like evil sentinels, minions of whatever evil resided in the dilapidated hut. The ponies still stared with evil eyes, and I knew that the shadowy monster knew where they were, and would never stop searching for them.

The next part of my dream was hazy, but the most of what I remember is this--for the first time in my life, I was TERRIFIED of ponies. But as much as they made me want to shy away, it was as if a force was reminding me how rare they were, and how much I had wanted such ponies. But when I tried to hide them (I could feel the pressing darkness), I think I remember them speaking to me in a deranged chorus...something like "Bring us back...you will be punished...!" o_O

I will never, EVER, look at nirvanas and prototypes the same way again.

*snif* I need some pony hugs. NOT EVIL PONY HUGS. PLEASE!! :yikes:

Pony Corral / Mommy Bright Bouquet value?
« on: March 20, 2012, 09:33:04 AM »
What would you G1 experts say a loose Mommy Bright Bouquet is valued at...? My friend lent me hers to clean, and I wanted to give her an approximate price. :) (I don’t expect her value to be over $15, but I could be wrong)

I don’t have any pics, but she’s moderately dirty (mostly surface dirt—I’ve still yet to clean her). The only marks I expect to last are

  • a pink highlighter mark above her DS eye (any solutions to these type of marks?)
  • possible tail rust staining (I’ll do my best to remove it—it’s not very noticeable anyway)
  • a bit of play-wear/ingrained dirt on her hoof rims/ear tips

She has Daddy BB, too--what is his value, and what is the whole family's?

So, any input? I’d like to get an idea of her worth before next Monday (March 26), if possible. ^.^ Also, would anyone have any idea if her particular price will rise somewhat in a few years?

Many thanks in advance to all answers!

Arts & Crafts Corral / New Ponysona - Melody Rose!
« on: February 08, 2012, 07:54:05 PM »
Mwahahaha, I'm finally getting the hang of drawing G4s!!!  :devious:

Hey everypony!  :satisfied:  So, I was bored, and drew up a new ponysona.  ^.^  I know it's weird since I already have two, and the truth is this one will never fully replace Juniper or Starlily, but the colors and theme turned out so well that I decided to keep her.  :satisfied:  Her name is actually thanks to a great friend of mine, and I've been using it as a pen name on a writing blog I'm on with some friends.  :)  So, I decided to build on top of the name and create a new pony...

As for her unusual pose, she's actually half of a picture--I originally sketched her high-fiving with my friend's new ponysona. I may post up the whole drawing once it's done.  ^.^

I will soon add this ref to my signature, and you just may see me requesting some adopts of her in the near future...  ;)

And just in case anyone's curious: I drew her lines on paper with a black UniBall pen, scanned it in as a black & white bmp image, recolored the black pixels, and filled her in with color.  :satisfied:  Oh, and I used the program Gimp for the whole thing.

Opinions? Suggestions? Don't be afraid to tell me!  ;)

The Dollhouse / Vintage Madame Alexander dolls...
« on: February 08, 2012, 03:14:17 PM »
Hi everyone!  :good:

I came here to query about some vintage Madame Alexander dolls that have come to be in my possession...

I have six original MA dolls in beautiful condition, that appear to be from an international countries collection. I have Googled these particular dolls many times, just curious of their value, but nothing but the modern international collection shows up!  :(

A bit of history—my great-grandmother gave these dolls to my mother, who in turn gave them to me. That’s it, really. Unfortunately I have not found any dates on any of the dolls (answers?), but my mother remembers them being given to her in the 70’s.

The dolls tags state as follows: “Ireland”, “Italy”, “France”, “Israel”, “Austria”, and “Brazil”. All of the dolls are in beautiful condition, their only visible flaw being some slightly frizzy hair; and missing articles being one missing shoe (Ireland), and perhaps France’s and/or Israel’s hat(s) (not sure if they had hats  ).

I am extremely curious of their individual and/or group value and rarity, as well as history, if anyone can provide it. I have absolutely no plans of selling them—they are and will continue to be family heirlooms, and even if they do not prove to be rare of sought after, they will always be valuable to me.  ^.^

Here are some pictures that should prove useful in identification.  :satisfied:

Ireland
Italy
France
Israel
Austria
Brazil
All the dolls

Thank you ever so much!!  ^.^

Pony Brag Arena / Newest finds! *PICS ADDED*
« on: January 17, 2012, 12:02:23 PM »
Muahaha, yours truly was just dragged yesterday to the corner of Savers by my crazy friend to behold five whole toy bags containing G3s!!! :devious: I still CANNOT believe how many were there. Soooo, without further ado, welcome the newest additions to my herd! :lovey:

  • Three fakies (blah.  ;) )
  • Small plush Sweetsong (woot!! My first plush since I gave away my Sparkleworks  :( )
  • G3.5 McD's Pinkie Pie and Sweetie Belle (another blah. Not so into the '.5s, and yes, I still call them "fish ponies".)
  • G3 Scootaloo (the original orange girl in the Wysteria pose)
  • G3 Bunches 'o Fun (sparkly!  )
  • G3 Skywishes (the flourescent pink one)
  • G3 Sunrise Song (my cousin and I used to call her "Squawka Walka" because we forgot her name)
  • G3 Summer Bloom (ack, so gorgeous!! Can't believe I found her!)
  • G3 Morning Monarch (honestly, I had never seen or heard of her before yesterday, but I have to say she is amazingly beautiful and a great addition to the herd.)
  • G3 25th Anniversary Rainbow Dash (y'know, the one with the gradient leg? Another gorgeous find, but I'm so mad at myself--I ruined her plastic with a red felt nail polish remover pad!  )

So, these are all the new girls--but seeing as I already have Scootaloo, 'Bunches, Skywishes, and the McD's Sweetie Belle, I'm giving those doubles to a cute girl who's been staying with us.  ^.^

So, all in all, my MLP collection totals an even 150 (not including the plush Starsong or fakies)! It's almost like I've reached another milestone--not as exciting as 100, but just as meaningful.

Anyway--what're you guys' opinions? I'd like to hear what of these ponies are the most uncommon, etc...I'm still getting over how amazing this whole find was. To me, it's so much more exciting finding ponies in thrift stores than getting them off eBay.  ;)

13 girls total (inc. the fakies), and I nabbed them all for $8, since Savers was half off!  :P

Thanks for sharing the joy. It's so great to have other collectors and pony lovers to talk to here.
