Hi everyone!

I recently bought Tutti Frutti in a job lot, in really nice condition with what appears to be most of her accessories. I'm actually selling her on now, but very interestingly are some blindfolds, which I've never seen before (and have tried looking up), which look like they SHOULD go with the set, and I get the feeling they do!

They were actually inside the cardboard present box when I bought her. One is orange and one is purple, they match the colours of the other accesories perfectly. Could it be that they're for pin the tail on the pony? Are they UK exclusive accessories maybe? Does anyone else know of these, or are they a new find?

Pony Corral / Sun-Damaged G1 Playsets - any tips?
« on: July 18, 2014, 08:05:40 AM »
Hello everyone!

I have recently acquired a dream castle, show stable and lullably nursery. Structurally they're in great condition, but they're all suffering from sun fading damage. Does anyone know of any good rememdies for this problem, links to tutorials maybe?

Any advise is super-appreciated!

Many thanks,

Hey everyone!

I sell ponies a lot, but usually always on eBay. You may have bought from me or seen my listings before - I'm guitarhunter11

However eBay's policy has recently changed, meaning that free insertion fees have dropped from 100 a month to 20 a month, rather dramatically.

To me it isn't worth paying insertion fees, when you have to pay them 10% of your final profit on top of that, so I'm thinking of just selling directly through the Arena this time around.

I've never really done this before, and was wondering what the deal is regarding Paypal fee etiquette? How much do Paypal even charge you, and is it the seller or buyer who invoices? Who gets charged regarding this?

Also, do people generally find selling through the Arena a smooth and pleasant experience?

I have a good 100 ponies to sell on top of playsets and merchandise :)

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Trader & Shipping Support / eBayer buyer 'Not a registered user'?
« on: April 26, 2014, 02:16:09 PM »
Hey everyone,

I recently sold a GC horse to someone on eBayer, they have 100% positive feedback and have been on eBay since 2005. In the feedback I even recognise some toy horse sellers they've bought from in the past. The auction finished on the 23rd and they still haven't paid. I wouldn't usually see this as unusual, some people take longer than others, but suddenly I see this note next to the transaction saying 'This user is no longer registered on eBay'?

Does that mean they've been banned or something? How should I go about this, should I contact the buyer? Or just open a case?

Thanks so much for any help! Maybe someone else has been in this position before?

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / ~~~LOADS OF VINTAGE G1 LPS ON EBAY~~~
« on: April 19, 2014, 08:07:24 AM »
Hey all! I'm selling loads of vintage LPS sets on eBay at the moment, big sets such as the zoo and pet shop but also many animal play sets. Nearly all of them are 100% complete, and in amazing condition. They're starting very cheap too, so do take a look. Here's a link to my auctions:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/guitarhunter11

I happily ship worldwide, but don't have time to get quotes for everyone. Rest assured that at the end of auctions I'll get you an accurate quote and re-invoice this, rather than the default shipping price :)

Trader & Shipping Support / eBay Photo Quality?
« on: April 19, 2014, 07:22:09 AM »
Hey guys!

I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with an eBay issue. I sell on there quite a lot, but recently I've noticed that as soon as I've listed a pony, the photo I upload isn't half as good as the original. I'm taking very clear photos on my DSLR, and they're coming out grainy and small on my auctions. Here's an example of a current auction:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181385881621?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

The picture SHOULD look more like this:

Does anyone know what the deal is with this, and how I can get better quality photos on eBay? It's really frustrating!

Thanks so much for any advice,

Pony Corral / Why do you Collect My Little Pony?
« on: March 18, 2014, 05:57:53 PM »
Hey everyone!

I'm really interested to know the main reason why you collect MLP. I'm actually doing a seminar in a couple of days on what motivates collecting, focused on toys and nostalgia specifically :) This poll would be a really nice thing to finish it with. You have 2 votes, so what would you say your top two reasons are for collecting?

Can't wait to see the results!

Was wondering if any UK sellers out there know how much it costs roughly to send one pony to Australia by standard airmail? Would save me having to make two trips to get a quote. Thank you :)

Price Check Archives / PC on some G1s please!
« on: December 18, 2013, 11:04:53 PM »
Hello all! I'm looking for PCs on some G1s:

-Princess Sparkle with hat, comb and bushwoolie. Beautiful condition.

-Princess Amber with hat and comb. I also have her dragon, Flash, but I think I'd be better off selling him separately?

-Perfume Puffs - Dainty Dahlia, Sweet Lily and Red Roses. Sweet Lily's hair has faded to white but the other two are still lovely and pink.

-Euro Exclusive Sea Pony Surf Dancer - no shell but has her original brush and comb.

Thank you! :)

Pony Corral / Why do you Collect and What do you Collect?
« on: September 17, 2013, 02:17:32 PM »
Everyone has different reasons! I'm interested to know :)

I collect for nostalgia reasons - even though I'm technically a 90s kid, I grew up with G1s and they were by far my favourite toys. I have a small, humble collection of MLP on display to remind me of those fun times.

I only collect G1s, but am not a 'set completer' collector - I'll only buy the ponies I really like. I'm also super-picky, so if a pony isn't mint enough I'll sell on. I don't like to spend a lot on ponies, being a poor student, so tend to buy in job lots, keep my favourite minty gals and then sell on the rest to make some money back. I also love to have original accessories with my ponies! Especially those ribbons.

(Also, feel free to link a photo of your collection)

Pony Corral / Show me your Pony Wear!
« on: September 13, 2013, 01:13:31 AM »
I'm going through just a *bit* of a Pony Wear obsession recently. I don't actually own too many outfits, but last night I dressed baby Applejack in the clown costume...and ohhh goodness me I died of a cuteness overdose!

I would love to see your ponies wearing their pony wear! :) Adults, babies, any pony at all.

Pony Corral / Alternative Pony Display - lots of G1 Goodness!
« on: September 10, 2013, 07:27:33 AM »
I'm off to uni in 2 weeks (scary!), and have been cleaning up all of the ponies I want to sell beforehand. There are so many of them, I was thinking of how I could display them all in one photo for Arena members to look at before heading over to my eBay auctions. Here was the creative solution!:

I own an antique letterpress chest (being an art student, I love my storage!), and pulled out the drawers a little further each time to create a temporary layered display for photographing. I think that they look pretty awesome :)

Keep your eye out on the sales/auctions board for when these gals will be available.

Price Check Archives / Rare Surprise Twins Pony Accessory? PC?
« on: August 24, 2013, 06:28:39 AM »
I was very lucky to get Mommy and her Twins in a big lot of ponies quite recently. She came minty mint with her babies, but the real surprise (pun not intended) was a little card booklet that came with them:

The book clearly goes with this set, as the illustration on the front matches mommy's stork symbol. Does anyone else own this book? It's the sort of thing I can imagine would have been thrown away or bent and broken really easily. I'm putting her on eBay this weekend, not sure if this book will increase her value?

Any advice most appreciated :)

Pony Corral / Pony IMG of the day!

Have an MLP related photo of your day? Post it here! :D You can include a small caption, or even a long description to accompany the image. Here's mine:

I woke up to a warm summer morning, and so took the opportunity to drain out some G1s I cleaned last night. The washing line can be useful for more than just clothes!

I recently bought a massive lot of ponies, which you can view here:

http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,339343.0.html

They would be perfect if it weren't for the fact that they REEK of smoke. I bought them from someone who was clearing out his mother's attic, they've been up there for some 20 years and going by the smell I'd say she was an extremely heavy smoker.

I need to get them odour free asap, because I want to sell a lot of the ones I don't need for my collection within the next couple of weeks, in order to make some of the money I spent back.

Has anyone ever received ponies in this sort of condition, and found a good cure? I usually scrub my ponies in bicarbonate of soda anyway, as I find it cleans them well, but not sure that it'll be enough.

Help help help, my entire bedroom smell awful! D:
