Off Topic / guaging interest - would you be interested in...
« on: September 01, 2012, 08:33:31 AM »
Custom felt finger or hand puppets? Or small felt critters?

I want a honest opinion, I can post up examples of my work if anyone is interested, and for a good quality, completely hand sewn (no glue) sturdy finger puppet, what would you be willing to pay if you were interested?

I just want to find out if they are worth offering up, ive got them fine tuned and they are coming out quiet nice, I can do any character or animal, personas (prefer animals but can do people too) and would have to slightly alter price depending on complexity.

I do a good clean job, and they do hold up to play (tested some with three large groups of 3-5 year olds that are all completely feral)

Off Topic / RAOK (non pony) just wanted to share :)
« on: August 23, 2012, 05:48:57 PM »
I have been going through a bit lately, and had a rough few months, and been very sick with random colds and the like.

As most of you know I am studying towoards a career in childcare, which I love doing, currently about 5/8's of the way through my Diploma, and finishing up mid next year, planning on working for 12 months & then continuing study part time towoards a Bachelor Degree & then a Masters, as well as a few short courses in special needs children.

Anyhow, one of my teachers pulled me aside when I arrived at class wednesday morning, she is an older lady who I have always really liked, she is a funny lady and has a very out there personality, can come across a little scary to most people lol. She asked me to come with her to her office and wait outside, she went in & came back out with a rather sad looking rigadoon puppet, this guy I had as a child, but no longer have. He needed a bit of work, but she told me she thought that I was the only person she knew that could possibly restore him to his former glory. So she gave me "chucky" to keep, and some material to make a set of the three bears in pillow form. I just thought it was such a lovely gesture, as Chucky had been hers for a very long time, and by looking at him, you could see he had been well loved and used over the years. I am glad to say he has had a few skin grafts & is on the way to a full recovery, and will have plenty of years left in him to bring smiles to lots of childrens and adults faces again :)

She purchased & paid for an item of mine nearly a week ago, I have tried to contact her twice through ebay to no avail to arrange collection of the item.

If anyone knows if she is on here / her username here, please let me know.

Off Topic / Meet Bob the monster :D
« on: July 25, 2012, 10:45:03 PM »
I had to make a puppet by hand for the course I am doing at the moment, and had some lovely light pink fuzzy material laying around, I decided it needed to be a monster, and Bob is what I came up with :D He has no pattern, was made with fake fur, felt and styrofoam balls cut in half & painted for his eyes. All hand stitched. I am pretty happy with the result, he is like a regular puppet, hand goes up from underneath, and you can control his mouth, his arms & legs cannot be controlled as I am uncoordinated enough without having to worry about one hand trying to multi task ;)

Trader & Shipping Support / another problem ebayer - anna.mlynczyk
« on: July 05, 2012, 12:23:15 AM »
I am starting up a new account, cause seriously as my rating is getting higher, I seem to be getting more & more problem buyers.

I will for sure let you all know my account :)

Anyhow, anna.mlynczyk purchased a couple of items off me, the singing & moving animals that you see from time to time. A gorilla and a lion.

Here is the auction to the lion one - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180908533150?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649

I picked both of them up brand new, but this guy came with a fault, which I listed in the auction, you can all have a read of the orange part of my auction which is the description.

She recieved both the items the other day and it has been a heartache ever since - here is our correspondence since then (read from the bottom message up):

Dear fingerpaints08,

Hi Amy,
if i wouldnt pay $45 for it i wouldnt make a big deal out of it but i think you should know your product and when you say its brand new its brand new isnt?

well i think we should agree to part refund and then we can just closed the auction with positives?
as i only paid $5 for a monkey i think that $15 would make a deal? what do you think?

let me know
Anna

Dear anna.mlynczyk,

Unfortunately my source where I picked him up from don't have any more of him :(

Would a partial refund surfice? Or would you like to return him for a full refund? I do want to make this transaction right with you :)

I only picked up one of each, and unfortunately the lion I did feel had a fault, as I said I had no clue as to what he actually did until I got home & popped batteries in him to get him working.

I hope we can sort something out, but unfortunately I can't get my hands on any more.

Dear fingerpaints08,

Hi amy,

is there any chance you could get one more of these? we could make a deal then? Of course the one that moves his head while signing ;)?

Dear anna.mlynczyk,

Hi there,

Thanks for your message before leaving feedback as I do prefer to work with you than risk a nasty feedback over something I didn't even have a chance to rectify.

As stated in his auction, I did think he was faulted, as I didn't have another to try I could not be sure. I did list him as his mouth moved, but didn't say anything about him moving at all which as far as I knew he actually didn't do. I am sorry you are dissapointed however, as it was not my intention to decieve you, and why I tried to describe him the best I could in the auction description.

What would you like to do about this guy? I am happy to work something out with you even though I do believe my description wasn't deceptive, just Isimply have never seen another of these working so was unsure what to expect from him.

Look forward to your reply and thanks again for giving me the chance to rectify before leaving feedback :)

Amy

Dear fingerpaints08,

hi there,

i received my package thank you so much. The monkey is just so adorable. Makes me laugh all the time. In regards to the lion i think that there is some defaults with him as he doesnt do any movements and the orginal one was moving his head while he was signing. I am a little bit disappointed as i love the way he was doing it. There is a bit of movement but not too much compering to monkey. I saw lion like that in the shop and it was beautiful. on your site you wrote that after a while when the batteries are there it starts but it never did for me?:(

I just don't take too well to someone incinuating I lied in my auction, I may not list everything, but I do my best to list any issues I can see or find with any of my items. And without actually saying it, the last message I feel was a threat to leave a neg if she didn't get her way, which, if she would just let me know what she wanted instead of beating around the bush and calling me a liar, I would happily do.

riosdesire purchased a couple of ponies from me, 2 G4's, both were purchased new by me and used for a couple of months as display only items, never played with. I did recieve a positive from her, but she stated that one of the ponies was "more used than expected, had split ends and slightly frizzy" I didn't even realise that ponies got split ends, and I think that what she means by "frizzy" was possibly box hair which as we all know can be fixed with generally a brush, or worst a conditioning and brush.

I have contacted her to let her know I would have prefered she messaged me first as I could have either explained it to her or, if she still wasn't happy refunded some of the money.

I went through her feedback left and she does seem hard to please, generally does leave a positive, sometimes a neutral.

Not upset about it, just thought I would warn others if she is bidding on your own items that you may want to make sure you have either a brand new, not removed from box item or package it well so it doesn't have a chance of getting messy hair in the post ;)

My parents recieved a negative off the idiot with no chance to even rectify the problem, and after going through his feedback he has literally recieved refund after refund, and likes to leave negatives if he feels he is havign a bad day.

I would not like this one purchasing off me as he would likely want a refund or leave a negative over something that wasn't even there.

Just a warning, again, this wasn't a pony item but I know we all sell all sorts of things :) it was for an old oil lamp that apparently had a crack in the metal or something, I looked the item over however and didn't see any damage when they were listing it, not saying it wasn't damaged, but I don't think a neg was deserved even if it was as I know my parents would have been happy to sort something out either way to keep their good feedback.

Off Topic / What do you like to cook?
« on: June 24, 2012, 11:49:58 PM »
Or what have you cooked recently?

I love to cook, from scratch wherever possible, but do turn to packet mixes for stuff like cakes for fear of having not only a disaster zone in the kitchen, but also having a cake that didn't turn out and a huge clean up.

I just cooked my first ever batch of scones from scratch, and am so proud they actually turned out (and are actually quiet nice, better than any I have ever brought) but love to cook a range of things.

I also tried out a 3 minute microwave brownie recipe which was pretty awesome - you cook it in a cup and its literally a cup & a spoon to clean up afterwards.

So tell me what are some of your favourite things to cook? Or what did you cook recently that was yummy?

Trader & Shipping Support / Why are there so many idiots on ebay?
« on: June 16, 2012, 05:25:21 PM »
I have in ALL my auctions that I will not cancel auctions, you win it, you own it. Not to upset people, becuase I am not forcing your arm to place a bid, I am not the one that didn't ask for a postage quote, and I am not the one that left ebay opened while my daughter / son / niece / nephew / brother / sister or other child decided to buy something on my account.

I also did not ask you to bid on my item, I had no message / too late a message from you about postage.

Why the hell do people bid on something, especially from overseas without knowing what the actual postage is?

I have an item at the moment that is going to cost around $26AU to send overseas. I am not making a cent on postage, I never do. The person bid the item up, and now feels she wants to back out. I have had this happen so many times, I am really over it. Why click the "confirm bid" button? Just, dont bid!

Trader & Shipping Support / shady ebayer (non pony) 2049chris
« on: June 10, 2012, 03:34:54 AM »
My parents are having big problems with this most unpleasant ebayer - 2049chris.

She purchased two items from them, paid for them seperately, and my mother overlooked this and posted them together. She messaged their account and asked for a refund on the overcharge, which was given immediately. This is where they felt the problem had been solved, but no.

They decided to leave my parents neutral feedback stating that she was overcharged, AND REFUNDED THE DIFFERENCE. I don't get what the problem is there, but anyhow, this is not where it stops.

The poop hit the fan today with the neutral & all, anyhow, she has not only left them a neutral, but relisted the item, which is fine, but used my parents picture to relist it with :/ really uncool, and against ebay's policies.

She has been reported to ebay, and mum had a talk to one of the reps about getting the feedback revised, which hopefully won't be a problem as the issue was resolved before leaving the neutral feedback.

Some people on ebay are a) nuts b) have too much time on their hands c) a pain in the backside or d) all of the above, which I think this lovely lady fits into :)

Just a gentle warning to others that may come accross her, I know most of you don't just buy & sell ponies.

Trader & Shipping Support / Horrible ebay customer - tyrienous
« on: April 26, 2012, 11:49:14 PM »
This woman is impossible to please, steer clear of her.

I am on to ebay customer support at the moment and they are not helping at all, and have a "suck it up" attitude. She purchased a plush toy from me, and was in contact about making a late payment, which was fine by me. Anyhow, she paid eventually then left me a positive with a nice comment and ALL 2's for my star rating :(

I am really, really pissed about it.

I am trying to get ebay to see it from a sellers point of view, but am about ready to tell them to stick their stupid site where the sun don't shine. It is becoming so hard for honest sellers to sell anything.

Trader & Shipping Support / Does fingerpaints owe you feedback?
« on: April 20, 2012, 10:19:08 PM »
I have been a little caught up recently with study, and let other things slip a bit. I am going through at the moment and trying to leave feedback for anyone that I have forgotten, if you haven't recieved feedback from me recently, and I do owe you some, please post here or give me a pm to let me know. I like to leave feedback for anyone that I have sold / purchased or traded with to help with ratings, so would hate to have missed anyone :)

Trader & Shipping Support / Edited - problem solved
« on: April 19, 2012, 01:56:46 AM »
I purchased an item through a BIN on ebay from the seller melissa2743, only to have her almost immediately send a cancel transaction case and tell me "sorry the item is no longer available" I messaged her to ask why she had it up, and why was she backing out immediately after my purchase, and waiting on a reply. It's a bit of a bummer, as I had been after the particular item for some time :(

I would just be aware as a buyer that this seller could possibly pull something similar. I could understand if she gave me a proper reason, but once you have put it up, and it actually sells, you are held accountable to send that item to the buyer once they make payment. I understand sometimes things happen, like a seller could accidentally break or damage an item, but to give no excuse is pretty lame.

Just a bit down right now about it. I don't want to shut the case as I really want the item, but I don't want them to get all pissy about it either.

Post Merge: April 19, 2012, 02:07:30 AM

Just got a message back, looks like she got her wires crossed or something, and thought I was someone else trying to buy the item after it had already sold? I am not too sure. I am going to be picking the item up, so hopefully it all goes well from here on in, odd situation none the less :/ not really too sure what to think of it all.
