I've been playing around with the idea for years now but I am completely unsure how the community might react to these typically light-hearted, geared-for-kids, pretty, little American Girl dolls dressed and painted in a Dia De Los Muertos motif. (here's a link for those who aren't in the know, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead )


When I tried to research if it had been done all I found was a couple of dresses in DotD motif (One of which I would have bought on the spot if it'd had still been available!!! ZOMG!!!) My Josefina would have worn that Year Round!!!

Halloween is right around the corner and I'm already picking my choice babies to work with and I'm seriously considering adding an AG girl to the table.

I am again made incredibly pleased and humbled by the wonderful Danny Choo in being given the opportunity to aid in compiling a Q&A list for the revamp of Culture Japans website.
  I have been promising my youtube viewers a Q&A since Feb and have finally gotten enough information together that I feel ready to tackle the endeavor. I am hoping that I will also do a second and maybe, in the far future, a 3rd Q&A as my own collection grows. (Which reminds me that I need to take pictures of Crimson )

So I am requesting that everyone who has ever had questions about these dolls please post them here. And if I don't get them into the first Q&A I'll get them into the 2nd. And of course, ALL questions will be relayed to Mr. Choo for his FAQ on Culture Japans website.

I wanted to post all kinds of "creative titles" but I stopped myself!

  I am in need of flocking for a couple of current customs.. These two, middle and right.. I want to flock the face and feet of the white moogle (her fluffy body will eventually get a real wool coat, if I can just get that far..) And velvet the antlers on the other girl (who will eventually make a fine forest Spirit. :3 ) I have brown flock that will do for the ones antlers but I'd rather find something softer.

  The only flock that I have been able to find locally is a very short fiber (so short I couldn't even imagine measuring the length of it) flocking that I found at a scrapbooking store. I would like to find a more "plush" flock like what the G1s are flocked with; does anyone know where I can find flock like that??

I did find an eBay supplier whose listing states; "The fibers are 0.30" denier length and are uniformly cut." But, I have no idea what that means! When asked they just said the flocking was of the fine, short variety.... LOL I hope so! Thick, long flocking would be.... weird.

  So, I'm hoping that someone here can help me in my quest for flock! I Really want to get a move on this girl and I'm pretty much stuck as the flocking is the next step in her customization process.
