Hey guys! I have been tasked with coming up with a good name for a male Red-crowned Crane chick. I named his father as well (Yuki), and his mother's name is Akai. I would prefer another short/cute name that means something to do with flying or dancing (cranes are well-known for their courtship dances). Or maybe something else that might have to do with birds or Japan in general (they are also known as Japanese Cranes, hence the Japanese names). Any ideas? The name must MEAN something, not be just some cute random anime character's name.  His father's name (Yuki) means "Snow" (since they are native to the snow-covered regions of the north) and his mother's name (Akai) means "Red" (symbolizing the red color on their heads). I'm in the US at the moment visiting my family and got to go to my favorite fleamarket today. I haven't been there in fours years, but they have always had G1's all the times I went there in the past. I even found the Show Stable and the waterfall playset in their original boxes with most of the accessories (and for quite cheap; $5 each). I don't collect the buildings, so I left them for someone else to find. I also had to leave about 10 G1's at one shop because the lady wanted too much for them and they were all very common or in bad shape. Oh, and I also found a Dream Castle (zero accessories and very yellowed) at another small fleamarket, which I also didn't get. But still cool to see pony stuff around! But I did come home with these cuties for a total of $7: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginIt's been such a long time since I've found so many G1's! ^-^

So I went to the thrift shop this morning and all they had were a few fakies (as usual). So I just picked up Sea Swirl and Prism Glider from wave 9 today and was quite surprised to see that Prism Glider is supposed to be a male (as per his card)?! Why haven't they made a male pegasus mold yet? They have them for unis and earth ponies already, why do the male pegs get shafted? Anyway, just thought it was interesting because I had no idea. I'm probably just late to the party as always, but whatever.

*****Jan 26: I have found him a great new home, thanks again for everyone's support!*****So, I've had to come to a difficult decision and find a new home for my cat, Truman. I brought him here to Sweden with me from the US, but my husband has developed allergies and I must find Truman a new home as soon as possible.  I do not feel comfortable giving him away to someone I don't know, but maybe if it were someone in the pony community it might be ok? At least I could still get updates and know how he's doing? I have no friends or family here in Sweden, so this makes it more difficult to find him a home. I know there are other collectors who live in/near Stockholm here, so I thought I would ask. Is there any possibility one of you could give my Truman a new home? I love him very much, but there is nothing else I can do.  visitors can't see pics , please register or login Truman is 2 years old, neutered, has all of his current vaccines, and also has a microchip. He is an indoor cat only. He has lived with other cats before with no problems, but has never lived with any dogs. Please PM (or post here) if you can help me. Thanks!

It's been awhile since I posted about my Gusty Army, and I've added a good bit to it lately. I'm quite happy with it right now, so I figured I'd share! ^-^ I never posted a brag about it, but the MOC SS Gusty in there is my very first (and only) MOC G1! I've been collecting G1's for over 14 years now, but I have never owned an MOC until now. She is such a jewel in my collection. I know others out there have embraced their pony craziness into their weddings and other special events, please share them here! I'd love to hear about them and/or see pics! This is my contribution: My husband proposed to me in a very special and personal way. (This is really the only place I can actually share this experience.) He is a software programmer for video games, and actually made me a little Nintendo DS game in which our two pony personas were the characters. In the game, his persona basically chases mine down and pulls out a ring to propose. At that point, he actually pulls out a real ring and proposes to me on my couch: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAfter I happily and excitedly accepted, he told me to push "A" on the Nintendo DS. Our personas then galloped off together along the beach and through the palm trees (I lived in Florida then and love the beach). You can control how fast they run and move them up and down the beach a bit. It was the cutest, most unique thing I've ever seen! He even composed the beautiful music it is set to. Hey guys! I'm a huge Gusty fan and my one and only army is of Gusty.  I actually just recently discovered the MLP wiki and found that they don't have the Gusty with blue leaves listed. She's just another UK version, right? I've had mine for many years and bought her as "UK Gusty". Just a few years ago I purchased another "UK Gusty" from someone without a picture. I was expecting another one with blue leaves, but she had purple non-glittery leaves (this is the one on wiki, and the one I usually see when someone has a UK Gusty for sale). I was really surprised by the different leaf color, but also happy that I had accidentally gotten another version of Gusty for my slowly growing army. Anyway, just wanted to get more info on the blue leaves girl. Is she worth the same as the purple one? Just curious. So the first thing I fell in love with in Sweden (aside from my husband of course, lol) were Dala Horses! I got my first one in 2009 (my first trip to Sweden before I eventually moved here). Hey guys! I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find a recent topic on it. Anyway, I have my very first MOC G1 pony on it's way to me right now (*squee!!*) and she does NOT have a yellowed bubble. My question is: What causes the yellowing, and can it be prevented? Is it just aging of the plastic and there's nothing we can do about it?
I do want to display my MOC, but I don't want the bubble to become yellowed. Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening? Would access to some indirect sunlight hurt her? I plan to display her in my pony cabinet (dark bookshelf with glass doors), but she WILL get a little indirect sunlight at times.
I'm not new to collecting, but VERY new to owning a G1 MOC. So suddenly I find myself a bit of a newbie. ^-^ Thanks for any help!

Hey guys! ^-^ I found a very sad TE Bright Eyes years ago at a fleamarket. She was tail-less and her symbols had been completely rubbed off. I've finally decided to work on restoring her as much as I can, so I am repainting her symbols now. Her mane is perfect, but she still needs a tail. I would greatly prefer an original TE Bright Eyes tail (don't think anyone else has her same colors, do they?). How likely do you think it'd be that I can find someone who has one? If I can't, does anyone know the colors that are in her tail? From pictures I've seen it looks to be mostly just the red and orange colors from her mane? Does the tail actually have all 4 mane colors in it? Does anyone have a spare Bright Eyes tail, or the colors I would need to make one? I'm not really a regular customizer, so I would prefer not having to buy a bunch of hair from Dolly Hair just for this one project. I would prefer to trade her for some G1's (I also like Dolly Mix ponies and Fairy Tail Birds!), but might also consider selling her. She's in pretty good condition. Her hair is a little rough, but not too terrible. She has a few very tiny brown spots near her rump and on the back of her head that may or may not come off (I didn't really try; you can see them in the second pic). She isn't missing any mane or tail plugs at all and I don't think she's had any haircuts. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginLet me know if anyone is interested! I don't have an official "want" list, but if you have G1 ponies for trade/sale just let me know what you have and I'll take a look if there is anything I need.
