Pony Corral / Does this look like a rehair to you?
« on: May 03, 2018, 07:41:43 AM »
Hey pony friends!  I was looking at buying this Raspberry Jam, but her hair looks extremely long, and I can't find any reference pictures of her with such long hair.  I'm guessing it's a rehair job, but I'm really not sure.  What do you guys think?  I know the Euro version supposedly has some differences, but is super long hair one of them?

So happy, I got my first German Nirvana!  I scored this German Starshine in a bulk lot on eBay, which actually had a few less common ponies in it.  I got the whole lot of them for a bargain price, which I would happily have paid just for her alone.  All of the ponies did however need a bit of TLC.  SPA TIME!  ;)

Starshine does have a few issues, but they're minor.  A forelock trim, unfortunately.  A few small spots and a faint green mark on her NDS, and she is very slightly discoloured.  I'm thinking it might be time to try hydrogen peroxide sun soak I've read so much about!

SHE'S SO BEAUTIFUL!  I can't stop looking at her   In the last few weeks I've had an amazing run on German G1s, including getting a Raindrop and Nightlight.  They're still in the post though, so when they come I'm just dying to put them all together

Pony Brag Arena / It's just like pony Christmas!
« on: April 17, 2018, 05:58:36 AM »
I had the best mail delivery today!  ELEVEN parcels came at the same time - you should have seen the postman's face.  He joked that I'm keeping him in a job  :P  Not all of them were MLP related, but they were all highly anticipated just the same.  They made a lovely little pile of goodies, it really did feel like Christmas!  I haven't had this many parcels to unwrap all at once for YEARS!  It was a bit of a crummy day at work, so it was so wonderful to come home to happy mail for once  ^.^

MLP Nirvana / Vintage Takara Pony Plushies - are they real?
« on: April 12, 2018, 07:37:09 AM »
Hi all!  :)

I'm really new to the Takara range, so I'm hoping someone with more experience can help!  I recently came across this picture of a plush version of the Takara Milky and Pinky ponies.  I can't find any other photos or evidence that they were actually ever produced and sold, so am wondering if they were one of the catalogue items which never eventuated? They're super cute!

MLP Nirvana / PC Fakie Takaras
« on: March 28, 2018, 06:32:33 AM »
The opportunity has come up for me to grab a few fakie Takaras, and I have NO experience with these at all.  What kind of asking price is reasonable for the fakies, and are there any which are worth more or less than others?  The seller is asking $30 USD each, and that seems in line with some Arena threads circa 2013.  I'm inclined to think it's a reasonable asking price, but I'd love the opinion of more experienced collectors  :)

I really want them, because I will NEVER be able to afford a genuine Takara! And they are adorable  ^.^

Thanks for your help!

Pony Brag Arena / G1 Children's Cup, Bowl, and Plate.
« on: March 27, 2018, 12:27:06 AM »
These came earlier in the week!  Am so bummed that the plate arrived broken, the seller didn't package it properly.  They gave me a partial refund, but I'm still sad it got damaged.  Should be able to super glue the pieces back together and will hopefully manage to avoid obvious cracks across the coloured design.  I love all of these  :)

Wanted! / WANTED - G1 Alternate Birthflower Ponies
« on: February 12, 2018, 07:47:49 AM »
Hey pony peeps!

I'm looking for three of the loose Alternate (multicoloured) Birthflower ponies, and would LOVE to hear from you if you happen to have any of them for sale/trade.  Ideally without major flaws such as extreme hair cuts or marker damage, but regardless would love to chat.

MAJOR WANT:  October (Cosmos)

Also want: March (Daffodil) and April (Daisy).

October is the last pony I need to complete the set, and it's driving me crazy that I haven't been able to find her!  :P  I already actually have March and April MOC, but I'd like loose ponies to display in month order if possible.  Sooo close to finishing the set.  It's been a long haul!

Shoot me PM if you have any of these babies and we can work out the details!  Thanks for looking :D

Wanted! / WANTED - G1 Alternate Birthflower Ponies
« on: November 12, 2017, 07:58:50 PM »
I'm attempting to complete my Alternate Birthflower Pony set, they're my favourites!  Despite diligently scouring eBay, I've been unable to find the remaining ponies in the set.  If you have any of these ponies (loose or MOC) for sale, I'd love to hear from you!

Want List

G1 Alternate Birthflower Ponies

January (Carnation)
February (Violet)
March (Daffodil)
May (Lilly of the Valley)

A long awaited eBay purchase arrived today!  A MOC Alternate Birthflower March Pony on the horizontal Danish card.  The Alternate Birthflower Ponies have been one of my ultimate grail sets from the start, and I now have 7/12 of them (a mix of loose and MOC).  Actually, I accidentally doubled up on the August (Poppy) pony, I still don't know how I managed that

Sadly, this March pony is not in good condition.  Despite the fact that the plastic bubble is fully intact, she has had serious discolouration due to what I can only assume is sun damage.  As you can see in the pictures, the DS is very yellowed.  She has brown spots that I think is vinyl cancer.  Its not just the vinyl of her  body which is discoloured, but her mane and tail also.  I should have been more thorough when inspecting the eBay listing photos - had I seen the extent of the damage I would not have paid as much as I did for her.  I thought the yellowing was due to the bubble, but I was very wrong  :(

I loathe to de-card any mint pony.  But if she is removed from the card and is cleaned and restored to a better condition, I wonder if she would actually be better off?  I fear she is not worth a great deal severely discoloured as she is now, even MOC.  I'm very conflicted.  Can anyone here please advise me?

Pony Corral / Mystery Pony! Please Help Identify Her!
« on: October 01, 2017, 12:46:18 AM »
Hey all!  ^.^

I've been having a big clean out of my collection, and I came across this girl whom I have no memory of buying.  This Butterscotch has completely unmarked flat feet, but unlike the normal flat feet Y1 collector pose ponies, there's no identifying stamp at all.

I thought she could have been a No Country product, but even the No Country ponies usually have a patent stamp, don't they?  So curious! What are your thoughts?  Have you seen this before?  Any information would be very helpful!
