So I thought it might be fun to get everybody's answers to these get-to-know-you questions! Write as much or as little as you want, and feel free to add more questions or add more info about yourself. Let's see what answers we get!
1. How long have you been collecting ponies?
2. How did you start collecting ponies?
3. How long have you been part of the MLP Internet community (not necessarily just the Arena)?
4. Who was your first pony?
5. Who was your last pony (i.e., most recently purchased/acquired)?
6. What is your favorite generation?
7. About how many ponies do you have in your collection?
8. Who's your grail pony, or alternatively, the pony you want most at the moment?
9. Who's your favorite pony and why? (choose only one! hard, I know)

So I first saw the original 1991 Beauty and the Beast when I was four and was apparently mesmerized . . . my dad took me to the theater to see it twice (a rarity in our family) and I got the Belle and Beast barbies, merch, the VHS when it came out, etc. I've loved the movie forever. I'm kind of tepid about the live action movie coming out in March; how can it possibly compare to one of my favorite Disney movies of all time and the accompanying childhood nostalgia? The CGI for the Beast, Lumiere, and Cogsworth also bothers me a bit. Obviously the last two had to be CGI, but maybe they could have done the Beast with a combination of costume/prosthetics and CGI. Anyway . . . on the plus side, I like Emma Watson's singing voice and Luke Evans looks like he's going to be an awesome Gaston. And since they seem to be sticking so close to the original movie, it hopefully can't go too far off the mark (famous last words?). As a Beauty and the Beast fan I'll probably see the movie whatever reviews it gets. So what do you guys think about what we've seen in the trailers? Are you looking forward to it? I'd love to hear all opinions.

Just a PSA: I saw some interesting display thingies at my Super Target and have wondered if they'd make good displays for small pony things like petites, mommy charms, and blind bags. They were in the dollar section with the Valentine stuff, but I think they cost $5. Just a heads up in case anyone else wants to check them out! I haven't bought one myself yet but was considering it. visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Calling upon the collective Arena knowledge to help me ID this stuff! It came in a pony lot and I'm assuming it's non-pony (looks Barbie to me, for the most part), but I wanted to double check since I almost put Baby Half Note's tiara in this pile visitors can't see pics , please register or login

2017 is almost here! So what are your collection goals/pony resolutions for the new year? Are you aiming to get a pony room or planning on finding a pony you've been after a while? One of my goals for this coming year is to clean up and organize my childhood herd. I've been focusing so much on the ponies I don't have and buying upgrades, but I've never given most of my poor much-loved childhood herd a good cleaning. They live under the bed at the moment while the rest of the ponies are in a haphazard display. I should probably make a goal of creating a better display, too, not just letting ponies hang out in every nook and corner of my room and the guest room . . . I also hope to hunt down the Year 3 sea ponies and Ice Crystal for relatively reasonable prices or even bargain prices. I've purchased my other Mountain Boys and Whitecap that way, and I'm looking forward to the challenge So tell me about your goals for this new year!

We had one of these a while ago and I thought I'd start one up again. It's a place to share your random pony thoughts of any kind -- what ponies are you thinking about, what questions do you have, who are you trying to find or who have you just bought, did you have a terrible day when someone snatched a Mimic out of your hands or a wonderful one where you found the whole TAF baby set MIP? Anything pony-related is fair game. This is the place you post a thought when it doesn't merit a thread of its own but you have to get it out of your brain. I'll start with a random thought. I just realized that I take it for granted that the flutter pony toys have no wings. That's just how they are. But really, they're all technically broken . . . I noticed it when for the umpteenth time a seller on Ebay described a flutter as having had its wings broken off, and I was like, "oh, yeah, I'd pretty much forgotten." It's kind of sad, really. They look so pretty with their wings. ^so there's my very random thought of the day. Add yours!

We all know the most famous rare ponies -- Rapunzel, Mimic, Sweet Scoops, etc. But which ponies, in your opinion, are as rare or rarer than these well-known ponies but don't get as much notice?
I'd say magenta Satin 'n Lace, for one. I don't think I've ever even seen her for sale in my years of collecting, and that's saying something.
So, who else, in your opinion, are the overlooked rare ponies?

This is just a random question I had as I prepared some Happy Tails ponies for sale. How do you get their tails to spin? Obviously by squeezing their sides, but I've never had one whose tail actually went spinning as a result. Sometimes I can get a pitiful little tail-toss, lol. And I never know quite where to squeeze them. Are their tails supposed to spin at least in a full circle? It's late and this is a really random question, I know, heh. I am just now realizing that I may never have found a functioning Happy Tails pony (unless I'm missing something obvious).

So my mom got my sister a bargain Baby Sugarberry for Christmas; the problem is, although the rest of her is great, her eyes have been outlined in marker and there's a big rub to the left eye. It looks like a kid tried to give her more eyelashes (that's my best guess). I've done a fair amount of sunfading with other ponies (Florida's great for it, even this time of year), but I haven't usually sunfaded small areas like around the eyes. How would you guys suggest doing it, without fading her eyes or otherwise messing her up? Will it even help or is this marker too ingrained? Also, what to do about her left eye? I don't think I have a steady enough hand to give her a good repaint, and I'm not sure what paint I would use to do it. But if I were to do it, any tips? Thanks for any advice! She's too pretty and rare to leave how she is. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login

~Haruna's Holiday Swap Wish List~ Partner, thank you so much for buying for me! It will be so fun seeing what you pick out. About Condition: I'm a fairly picky collector. The two most important things to me are hair and eyes; it's great to have a pony with uncut, silky, un-faded hair with nice tinsel (if applicable) and un-rubbed eye paint. I'd also prefer that a pony not have any huge flaws, like bad pen or marker marks, mold/mildew/brown spots, tail rust, head-body discoloration, chew marks, etc. However, I don't usually care if a pony has mild symbol rubs or small or non-distracting marks. Had the roughest birthday in recent memory, but a herd of ponies cheered me up a bit. My mom was the culprit; she had bought several lots and stuffed them in gift bags Several need cleaning and a few have issues; but seeing them really brought a smile to my face. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginMy favorites from the group. They need their hair styled, but as you can see it's uncut and curly. Mirror Mirror is flawless, hard to find with her symbols so fragle. I always love that pose. I like Princess Dawn more than I thought I would; I'd never seen her in person. She looks like she has a personality of her own. I especially love Ringlet because of her wing design and childhood nostalgia (my friend had her) The proper curl is still faint pink. I'm going to have to be very careful when I do her hair so Ringlet doesn't lose her ringlets! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginPretty girls The ribbons in Twinkler's hair are authentic, although I'm not sure whose they are. I'll have to look up which ponies had white ribbons. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginTwo Party Times, appropriate. Sherbet has plastic around her neck, but I don't think it's original. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginA lovely Firefly with some friends (had to remove a rubber band wrapped multiple times around poor Sundance's neck ) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAlso in the lots, FSF Joelle (I think) and Tasty Tails. (will be up for sale as I don't actively collect these) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginMy final two presents were ponies on my most wanted list. I've wanted a Tropical Breeze with nice hair for a while now! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAnd . . . Daffodil!! She's so lovely! Her colors flow together so well. I've been looking at her and I don't even know what color to call her body -- faint green? light blue? even gray? She has such silky hair. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginTo wrap it up, Baby Lofty, a custom by the hugely talented Pandabear_chan. No kidding, guys -- she looks and feels like a factory-made pony. She's just beautifully done in every way; I love having her around (she's by my laptop as I type). I bought her before my birthday but wanted to include her in the brag so you can see what a beautiful job Pandabear did. And that wraps it up! Ponies can brighten even the grayest days

I'm pretty much decided that I'll sell this Sea Mist sticker; in addition to a price check, I wanted to make sure: is it in its original plastic sleeve? I'm not overly familiar with stickers, but it looks to me like it was never removed from the plastic and that the tape is original. (Note: some of the pictures make the sticker look yellow because of camera craziness, but it's very white) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login

I'm looking to sell my Lavender Lace here or on Ebay; her head is in the Crumpet mold instead of the proper Dancing Butterflies mold. (quick picture below) I'm not really sure how much to ask for her. Any ball park estimates? She's in very good condition. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginmore pictures on original thread: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,374943.15.html
