For Sale - For Auction / All must go! More coming
« on: November 28, 2016, 06:57:51 PM »
Well part of taking in animals is vet bills and to help with that I've decided to part with my collection. I'll be listing pieces as I go through boxes and have time. Those that don't sell quickly will go to EBay. Thanks everyone!

Price Check Archives / Price check for ponies
« on: November 26, 2016, 08:40:52 AM »
I'm putting a big bunch of my collection for sale so want to get price checks as I go through them. More than likely they will be put up in lots for here s but then hit eBay. More expensive ponies I'll probably list alone.

Baby Pearly- good shape has nice hair, 2 small red dots on back
Baby crumpet- good condition, small mark above symbol and dry hair on ends

baby bow tie: good condition blue ink mark near symbol

Petites: glitter petites, regular as well in good shape. How much would they be apiece? How much would you go down as a lot?

Glow petites but with damage, marker on body

Big Brothers dehaired as a lot some good shape and just rehair quality and some have age marks ect. It would be a lot of like 7 boys.

How much per pony would you charge for a group of G3?

And I'll have more as I pull them out of boxes

Pony Corral / Holidays photo contest! Congrats Farmdreamer!
« on: November 24, 2016, 09:25:24 AM »
Voting time!

The poll is open for three days this time since I've been behind. The pictures are located in the thread or in the link below with the owners names below the picture.

http://myothercarisaunicorn.weebly.com/holidaynew-year-photo-contest-2016-2017.html

Welcome to the Holidays photo contest!
The photo contest is simple, following the guidelines you will need to submit a photo involving your ponies in some way celebrating either Christmas or another seasonal holiday. It could also be a winter or new year picture.

generation of pony doesn't matter, so it's open to G1-G4 and fakies can participate as well. I'll keep it all short and sweet for everyone.

Rules
-You may submit one photo for the contest. You're allowed to take extra angles of the set up that you've -created, to show off details but only one main photo to be submitted. You're allowed to edit your photo or change it till the contest cut off.  If you change it you must edit your original submission post. I cannot chase submissions all over the thread.
-The photo must include MLP but can have other toys ect included. Ponies should be the stars of it
-It must fall into some sort of Christmas/holiday, winter or new year theme
-must follow TOS of the arena
-Keeping the above in mind in order to receive a prize you must be within the age and trade limits given on the Arena
-Post your photos here in a spoiler and all will be put together at the end

Time Frame
open for entries- Nov 24th- Jan 1st
Judging- Jan 1st- 5th
winner will be announced after that & prize shipped (note I'm a slow shipper)

How the judging works
A poll will be placed on the arena for members to pick their favorite. The favorite Arena pick will be crowned the winner and receive a prize.

Prize
The prize will be a G1 80's pattern plushie by myself with some modifications to the pattern. The winner will have the choice of picking a plush from what is currently made by the time of contests end. Right now I'm Working on some holiday ponies like Minty. It all depends on what I have done by contest end. The plush prize is not a commission prize, but a choice of what I have in stock. Sorry, I'm booked up on request of sewing projects right now for others. ;)

Here is a link to my plushies as an example of what you would receive
-Plushies come from a non smoking but pet home. They are made from fleece or fleece like products, yarn hair, fabric painted eyes and mouths with felt hand sewn on symbols and parts of the eyes. They include a foam board in their feet and while I would think they are durable I'm not sure how well they will stand up to rough play or excessive washing. They were made for display. Because of the nature of the plushies and time it takes me to make one there will only be a first prize winner for this contest.

The prize is free shipping within the U.S. (I will ship the cheapest method possible. If you wish for extra things like insurance and tracking ect that will need to be covered by the winner)

If outside the U.S. the winner will have to either pay for shipping or pay the difference of shipping outside the states. Sorry! I typically cover it all myself, but it's hard to get my plushies in a box other than a 12x12x12 without having to smash them. Boxes that size do cost more in shipping than the smaller parcels I was able to send in contests past.

Off Topic / Noodle the ferret
« on: November 21, 2016, 08:25:31 PM »
I've been chatting with a woman on Facebook that I got my new rat boys from.  Ferrets came up in conversation a while back and she mentioned having one that needed a home as she couldn't keep him. She had rescued several rats and the ferret from a neglectful home but couldn't cover the medical bills he would need. Me being me curious about ferrets and wanting to help an animal in need took him in.

I've been reading so many articles since usually I research for months before getting one. He isn't in the best shape and is about five. He has fleas so trying to be gentle with him as he is very vey skinny. He is eating a good bit though. He has trouble with his back legs and my breeder friend said his previous neglectful owner said they were both broken at some point. He seems to hate the other animals and sort of wants to just be left alone. He has been tolerant of me though and taking him to the vet this week to see if he can be helped or if there are other issues at okay here other than just malnutrition.

Is it weird despite him being cranky and a turd I adore him already?

Off Topic / Advice on ferret care
« on: November 13, 2016, 02:41:52 PM »
I shouldn't have more pets at the moment, but I can never seem to leave one behind that needs love. I've wanted ferrets for years but never got one and recently a breeder I've been speaking with that I got my rats from mentioned she had one. He came from a neglected home where basically this girl starved her pet rats and him included.  The breeder took several of them including the ferret but cannot keep him. Someone else was supposed to get him and they backed out, so she asked me and of course I couldn't say no. Typically before I bring a new species of animal into the house I do months of research instead of spur of the moment things. I thought some people might have good advice. She says he is friendly but not as happy with other animals.

I'm setting up what was going to be my pony room into a room for my rats.  I thought he could stay there since no one would be out st the same time and it's where I can go sit and let the critters free range and roam and play or watch Netflix or read a book. I thought maybe him staying there and slowly seeing how he likes my other animals might be ok?

I've been asking some of the ferret people here for advice but I'm open to hearing from others. I'll be taking him to the vet soon as I doubt he has had anything checked in a while and the breeder said she thought he had an ear infection and has been treating it.

Off Topic / Suggestions to help my overweight pup?
« on: October 09, 2016, 08:52:17 PM »
I made a post in WYP about her, but this topic side of it is more positive and seeing if anyone has good information. I don't want this to turn into a debate. I actually tried a few FB groups but of course everyone posted and went nuts.

Anyway if you haven't seen My WYP post thshe short version is I adopted a dog last week, - schnoodle that looks similar to MTV suki that passed away last year.  The problem is she is extremely overweight.  The vet says she should weight 16 pounds and she weighs 36.

She got all her shots and is negative for Heart worms and had her thyroid checked.  It was determined it's just being overweight.  We are going to the vet next Saturday as my vet doesn't work hours o can go when I have work. I've only talked with him some over the phone.

She has a lot of trouble standing and walking so the vet advised we let her set her own pace and we walk a few times a day till she is tired.  A few things I need help with.

I can tell she isn't used to eating dog food and is being picky. I'm having to mix wet food with dry to kinda make her eat dry food. She is older so I'm going to have the vet check her teeth and make sure the crunchy food isn't hurting her to eat.  He suggested for now purina or science diet.

I thought I would ask you guys if anyone has had any luck with a good senior dog food with a sensitive tummy food?  I would need a dry and wet food combo I could mix for a while. Also, not to sound awful but I would prefer one mid range price.  I mean not the absolute most expensive but not the cheapest just filler food either. Something inbetween and since he suggested purina has anyone had any particular luck with one for their senior dogs?

Also, she is so large it's hard for her to stand or reach certain parts of her body. I noticed some of the fat rolls of skin on her underside were red and irritated almost like bed sores but no actual sores just irritated skin.  Is there something I could put on them for her?

Thanks everyone for any help you can give and please try to stay positive and constructive not rude. ^.^

Off Topic / I cannot decide what to wear for Halloween
« on: October 02, 2016, 05:58:47 PM »
I've got myself with three choices. All three basically would be a dress and then extra added.

1) I've done a sort of semi unicorn for years (wig and horn nothing big) because the students know I'm obsessed with unicorns and zombies. I cannot dress up in bloody stuff for school(bummer as I would so be a zombie or even do Ash), so they think the unicorn is funny. I have a dress this year that would go well with a wig I picked out and even might order a small resin horn from the painted pony. If o have time for wings I might throw that in.

2) Cheshire Cat, I have never done an Alice character before despite my obsession and having an Alice room and being covered in Alice tattoos. I could get some stuff together quick but problem being I would want to do yellow cat eyes too. I can never make myself pay those crazy prices for special contacts

3) Sally. I haven't done that one before either, but I'm not sure how I would hold up covered that make up paint stuff. I have tons of skin allergies and don't know about wearing it all day at work. I've done stuff like that a few times and usually my skin hates me.

I've about persuaded myself into the unicorn or alicorn again just because I can do a more fun one that before. Decisions decisions! Thoughts?

Pony Corral / Halloween(Nightmare Night) photo contest
« on: October 02, 2016, 12:48:19 PM »
Welcome to the Halloween photo contest!
I used to set these up for the holidays pretty often and haven't in years. It seems like a good one to kick these back in gear.  The photo contest is simple, following the guidelines you will need to submit a photo involving your ponies in some way celebrating with some Halloween spirit (including fall or other holidays within Oct). The generation of pony doesn't matter, so it's open to G1-G4 and fakies can participate as well. I'll keep it all short and sweet for everyone.

Rules
-You may submit one photo for the contest. You're allowed to take extra angles of the set up that you've -created, to show off details but only one main photo to be submitted
-The photo must include MLP but can have other toys ect included. Ponies should be the stars of it
-It must fall into some sort of Halloween or fall theme
-Scary, cute or silly doesn't matter long as everything follows the TOS of the arena
-Keeping the above in mind in order to receive a prize you must be within the age and trade limits given on the Arena
-Post your photos here in a spoiler and all will be put together at the end

Time Frame
open for entries- Oct 2-Oct 31st
Judging- Nov 1st -5th
winner will be announced after that & prize shipped (note I'm a slow shipper)

How the judging works
I will go through the photos submitted and with my co-host (FarDreamer) will pick the top five. A poll will be placed on the arena for members to pick their favorite. The favorite Arena pick will be crowned the winner and receive a prize.  If less than five members participate we will pick the winner without the need of a poll.

Prize
The prize will be a G1 80's pattern plushie by myself with some modifications to the pattern. The winner will have the choice of picking a plush from what is currently made by the time of contests end. Right now I have a blue variant Posey and a Snuzzle. I'm working on a Nightlight, G3 Minty and a secret Halloween style pony. It all depends on what I have done by contest end. The plush prize is not a commission prize, but a choice of what I have in stock. Sorry, I'm booked up on request of sewing projects right now for others. ;)

Here is a link to my plushies as an example of what you would receive

Since I saw talk in the Shoutbox thought I would see what everyone got! I haven't been on Pottermore in ages. I'm talking back when they still had the duels and potion making. I did the Beta version ect, so it's been ages. I was happy to still be sorted into Slytherin. I ended up with a wolf Patronus. What did you guys get?
