Wanted! / ISO bulk G4 combs
« on: March 14, 2018, 01:03:09 AM »
Hi,

If anyone has a bulk amount of G4 brushable combs I'm interested in purchasing depending on your asking price. I'm not after particular colours, any will do as long as they aren't broken.

Please PM me if you have some to sell  ^.^

Cheers,

Pony Corral / Can you repair cracked packaging plastic?
« on: January 31, 2018, 09:38:09 PM »
One of my 25th Anniversary MLP sets has warped plastic, with a rounded edge along the front instead of square. When I was moving it I must have pressured it and the brittle plastic cracked along this corner. It's not overly noticeable but I was wondering if it is actually possible to glue the plastic, and what kind of glue is recommended to try?

If I'm more likely to make it look worse I won't risk it, I'm still kicking myself for the initial accident.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Trader & Shipping Support / ANSWERED: thanks everyone! :)
« on: December 05, 2017, 04:59:25 PM »
Hi there!

I was hoping I could get some advice on how to post gifts from Australia to America without incurring import charges for the recipient? I've heard that even marking the parcel as a 'gift' doesn't necessarily mean that there won't be charges if the value is over the threshold (which is...?)

If I pay for extra coverage I have to state the value, but they're gifts and handmade items, I'd mostly just want my postage fees back if they got lost rather than calculate the value of handmade gifts etc.
Also, how do I declare the contents? Is there anything I should know about can/cannot send? There's some choccies I'm hoping to include (if they survive the heat leaving Australia lol).

Can anyone help me please?  :)

Pony Corral / Surface Area of Paradise Estate?
« on: November 08, 2017, 03:45:21 PM »
I've been setting up my pony room at my new house but my collection is still in storage at my parents' house. I'd love to have my Paradise Estate displayed on a table and found a gorgeous one the other day... But I don't know if it'll fit.

Does anyone have theirs currently set up and able to take a quick measurement of its surface area? Ideally I'd want to display it completely assembled, not necessarily with the rooms opened up.

Cheers!  ^.^

PS. Feel free to show off pictures of your displays for inspiration!

Off Topic / Raw food diet for cats?
« on: October 12, 2017, 10:28:52 PM »
Does anyone here feed their cat/s a raw diet? I used to feed my dog a raw diet, pre-made and bought form a speciality store, but it seems as if pre-made raw catfood isn't as common here. All I can find is grocery store stuff with high sodium.

I'm finding it tricky to find recipes that I could handle making myself at home. It's particularly hard because a few websites have said not to grind the meat/bones, to feed chunks, but the only recipe I've found (copied onto several websites) uses a grinder or no bones at all (with calcium supplements).

The recipes provide pretty decent details about the supplements at least, but can anyone point me in the right direction of a good recipe or two? I've also read that you shouldn't feed exclusively chicken, mix it up a bit, but nobody shares any lamb/beef/etc recipes when they say this. Ugh!

My kittens (10 months old) don't have much interest in their premium dry food, and I figured they deserve to eat the best food I can provide. If I'm thinking of feeding wet food I may as well step it up and go raw, they love scraps of raw chicken so I think transitioning won't be hard.

Please help if you can!

(Also, if you're against raw diets please keep your opinion to yourself)

Pony Corral / Pony Room - Curtain type?
« on: September 25, 2017, 09:10:39 PM »
I've just moved and have the opportunity to have my own pony room. I want to make sure my ponies are safe, especially from sunfading (because of my Posey army) so I was hoping for opinions on whether I should use heavy curtains, or thinner curtains. I have a photo of my two choices currently available to swap between. I like the thinner curtains but if you think they let in enough light to fade pink hair I won't risk it.

Ideas? ^.^

I'll also have reusable dehumidifiers scattered about, it gets hot/humid here!

Off Topic / Hobby Welding?
« on: September 18, 2017, 04:55:33 PM »
Does anyone here weld for a hobby? I'm kind of interested in learning how to some day, I'd love to make metal sculptures but worry it might be too complicated or spook me (I don't much like intense open flames and the like)... If anyone has any advice/recommendations, websites or YouTube channels, I'm all ears.  ^.^

My partner and I watch a few woodworking YouTube channels, he is keen to learn woodworking, particularly how to use a lathe.

Please share pictures of your creations as well if you have any to display!

Off Topic / How to Get Away With Murder : opinions on 3rd season?
« on: September 07, 2017, 06:59:00 PM »
I watched the first two seasons of How to Get Away With Murder, and have enjoyed it so far, but I just started the third season and feel like I'm only watching because I want to see how it ends... I don't know if I'm really enjoying it?

A couple people warned me that they lost interest in season 2, that it became too much about the characters' drama, but I don't even feel invested in any of them... I can't remember any names and doubt I'd care if any of them died.

Has anyone watched the show and would like to share their opinion of season 3, without spoilers? Is it worth continueing to watch, does it pick up?

It reminds me of House in a way. I used to love House, but when it became less about the patients and more about relationships and drama I drifted off, I don't think I watched the last couple of seasons at all.

Pony Brag Arena / Mini Glory - old news, but I just got her lol
« on: August 29, 2017, 05:23:57 PM »
I know the Running Press mini retro Glory is such old news... but I just got her and omg she is so adorable, I want to have an entire G1 herd miniaturised! (I honestly can't stand the Firefly though lol)
Here's a pic of my gorgeous girl, her light blue streak extends almost all the way down her mane like a third row. I don't actually own a Glory, but I feel like I need to now.  :P

Wanted! / Seeking Loyal Subjects : Gusty
« on: August 16, 2017, 02:16:05 PM »
I just need Gusty to finish the complete set of Loyal Subjects (minus Hot Topic chasers, blah). If you can help me get them I'd really appreciate it, I just don't want to pay insane eBay prices.
I have an extra Applejack & Firefly to trade for her, or am willing to buy outright and sell those girls instead.

Please contact me if you can help!  ^.^

I have 4 extra Loyal Subjects ponies that I'd like to trade for Gusty & Lickety-Split.
They'll all come with their cards, baggies, and boxes (opened from bottom to preserve appearance, sorry about the store price sticker).
That's right, all four of them for just the two (or two for one). Please contact me if you're interested and can help me finish the set!

Off Topic / Fellow Australian Collectors?
« on: August 07, 2017, 07:57:49 PM »
Hello fellow Aussies!

I'm keen to make connections, I've been a member of the Arena for years but I feel I haven't gotten to know the members from my own country at all.
Are local meets organised occasionally, are there FB pages for this? I'm a member of a few Aussie MLP collector pages but FB has decided showing posts in chronological order is lame so I can't make heads or tails of it all. It would be fun to meet in person but I'd be keen to chat and just make some new friends.

So if anyone is interested in having a chat, I'd like to get to know you some more and maybe even find a friend who's been living the next suburb over for years lol. I'm a bit shy but I think it's time I came out of my shell. :P

I'm also possibly going to be selling some of my collection in the coming months and would prefer to do it locally if I could. Pony yardsale meet anyone?

Cheers,
Brighde
