I went to Toys R Us and Walmart today!

At TRU I got three of the new Equestria Girls dolls, Sunset Shimmer, Twilight Sparkle, and Fluttershy. I won't be opening Fluttershy until Christmas, she's going to be for the dice game we play each year at my grandma's, so no photos of her yet! I also got All About Lyra.

I love Sunset's doll so much! She's my favorite looking of the new EqGs. Her hair is also incredibly silky! Twilight's hair isn't as soft feeling, but it's still miles better than the quality in the recent single ponies. And they gave Twilight the proper dark blue hair color instead of the purple they always give her! It seems to be two different shades of blue mixed together, mostly a darker shade, but there's some lighter ones (a normal blue color, not really "light blue") mixed in. I hope they eventually do this with the pony Twilights.

My only real issues with the new EqGs is the lack of knee articulation, but since these are the first ones, I would assume we'll see some with that in the future. Some doll stands would also be nice.

Then I also went to Walmart, and got like five pony books. :P

So these past couple days I've been doing some thrifting, so now I'm here to post everything I've found!

Firstly, this one's not really a thrift store, but I went back to that antique mall that I found those G3s at before, and found this girl (this was on Tuesday):

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I love the shade of pink that her body is, it's very pleasant!

Not MLP, but I also got a Sweetie Pups toy (the Collie), I was gonna leave her behind but then knew I'd regret it, so I took her home with me. Maybe I'll get more in the future, when I have more space:

Then I went to the Goodwill Outlet for the very first time yesterday! Nothing major, but I did find these two:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

(here they are before being cleaned)

It was pretty neat to go there and experience just how cheap it is, these two girls just cost me 83 cents! But since it's about 30 minutes away from me and thrifting is always so hit and miss, I'm not sure if I'll be going back or not. It would be really annoying to drive back there and not find anything.

There was a normal Goodwill a few minutes away from the outlet that I went to as well, and I got some puzzles and the McDonald's Twilight mask:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Only mask I need now is Rainbow Dash!

When my mom and I made it back to our own city, we went to Walmart and I decided to buy this MLP Golden Book, due to its super cute artwork:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Now onto today. First, there was a new (couple months old) local shop downtown that my mom wanted to visit. Mostly they had Christmas stuff due to the time of year, but they also had cards (that they had bought elsewhere to resell). I found two pony ones:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The G3 one is from 2008, the G3.5 one is from 2010.

Then I went to Value Village, and found a couple things:

And some fakies, I particularly like the flocked one (they were in a bag with Rainbow Dash):

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Also went to the Goodwill that's close to Value Village:

The Pinkie Pie plush is very interesting. She doesn't have a tag (nor do I see anywhere where one would have been), and I don't see anything that looks like her on MLP Merch. She's very chibi-esque, kinda looks like a filly. She has letters embroidered on the bottom of her back right hoof:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Here's a full photo of her:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Does anyone know if she's official merchandise and if so, what company made her? Or is she a unique plush somebody made?

Lastly, I got a cute gift bag at Walmart:

Pony Corral / Any other merch with this really cute art style?
« on: December 05, 2017, 09:15:18 PM »
So I recently went to Walmart and found some Rarity/Fluttershy lip balm and got it since the art style on it was really cute and it was just $1. It's a pretty normal G4 style art, but the lines are black and relatively thick, and there are really pretty watercolor-esque flowers surrounding them. I went to Dollar Tree today and found a Pinkie Pie/Twilight Sparkle puzzle with the same sort of art style. Here's both the lip balm and the puzzle:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I wanted to know if anyone's spotted any other merchandise with this really cute art style, and where to get it. I adore this art so much and I need more of it!

So I've gotten quite a bit in this past week, and haven't shared them here yet! Quite a lot in this post. Goodwill hauls, Walmart hauls, and the glittery Pinkie seapony from Amazon!

First of all, a Goodwill haul! This was from Monday.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

No actual ponies, but I found books, a DVD, as well as a scooter. Seems the scooter is from the Fashion Style sized Pinkie Pie from Cutie Mark Magic. I love finding G3 story books, the artwork in them is so fun to look at!

Then on Tuesday I went to Walmart. They had Wave 2 of the two-packs with accessories (is there an actual name for these sets?), so I got the Pinkie/Skystar and Rarity/Capper ones. Didn't get the Twilight/Songbird one since she has a single release in All About Wave 3.

Today I went to a Goodwill, this was all I found:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Better than nothing, but not very exciting.

I also went to another Walmart today, in search of All About Wave 2.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I didn't find them, but I did find... Wave 3? For some reason? They had both Waves 1 and 3, don't know if this means that this specific Walmart skipped Wave 2 entirely, or if they plan on stocking them later. I got Cheerilee and Songbird Serenade.

Also got some merch. A magazine that came with a Tempest figure, a super cute Rainbow Dash cube plush, lip balm, and lip gloss with a tin.

I could not resist the beautiful artwork on the lip balms, especially not with the $1 price tag! The cube Rainbow Dash is super soft and squishy, 10/10 highly recommend if you want something soft to squish!

And the ultimate thing I got, the Amazon exclusive glittery Pinkie Pie seapony! She was on sale on Cyber Monday for just $10! With her original price of $50, I wasn't planning on getting her, but did really want her, just not for that price. So when I saw she was a mere $10 on Monday, there was no way I wouldn't take advantage of that.

So, I'm gonna do my best to review this girl here!

Firstly, Pinkie herself. The main part of her body is completely covered in pink glitter, which is absolutely beautiful, very stunning in person! She has fabric covering her tail (it feels like the tail of the normal glitter & style Pinkie is inside of this fabric). Her eyes are glass just like the regular glitter & style seaponies. As I don't have one of those to compare her to, I don't know if her eyes are more glittery than them, or if they're the same. Pinkie's hair is done in four curls. I really adore these curls, and wish Hasbro would give ponies factory curls more often like they did back in G1!

Next up, Gummy! He's super cute and covered in green glitter. I love the little pose he's in that looks like he's looking up slightly, very cute.

Both Pinkie and Gummy's glitter is the type that likes to shed, so do expect to get some on your fingers when you touch them! This is really the only downside to the figures themselves, IMO. I wish they had applied some sort of coating to make it not come off, but if you don't plan on touching them much, it shouldn't be an issue.

Now onto the packaging. As you may know, it lights up at the base. It takes three double A batteries, which it does come with already inside. The lights are blue. Upon pressing the button, it stays lit for about 15 seconds. When it's lit, you can also press the button again to immediately turn the lights off.

With this box, you've got a couple display options. You could just keep Pinkie and Gummy in forever, never taking them out in the first place. If you plan on displaying them just as they are when you buy them, I suggest doing this. While Pinkie is easy to drop back in the plastic that keeps them in, Gummy didn't want to go back in when I tried to put him in there. Because of this, I simply got rid of this plastic, and opted to instead just have the two standing inside of the box with no extra support:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

You could also just display them out of the box, I suppose. But I really love the light of the base, so I'm going to be displaying them inside of it most of the time!

And just to tack on, a couple weeks ago my mom got me the seapony fabric at Walmart. Finally got around to making a pillow out of it!

The ponies in the back row were priced separately all $2 - $4 each, the ponies in the front row were in a bag together for $10.

So I splurged and ordered myself the Walmart Seaquestria over the weekend. It arrived tonight at ~7:45 and as I begin typing this post it's 9:37.

It was a bit of a pain to put together, but in the end I managed. A couple pieces don't snap together all that tightly (for example the bottom part of the waterfall elevator feels more loosely in there).

The size of the box was incredible, especially since the Walmart version's box is longer!

This thing was super exciting to get and open up! I can't imagine how excited children who get this for Christmas will be!

All the pieces and ponies in the box:

After I put it together (ignore my shoe):

Then I moved it onto my bed's shelf, and reorganized all my G4.5 stuff!:

It hangs off the edge a bit, eventually I'll have to swap the white wall shelf and the calendar so I can slide the castle over more to the left. For now this works.

Now onto some other pony buys I've had recently! In order from most to less recent.

Pony Brag Arena / Big pony haul, some good deals! (pic heavy)

So I went over to that secondhand toy store today, with the plan of coming home with maybe one or two G1s and a G3. I uhh, didn't have as much self control as I thought I would, so I came home with much more.

Before we get onto that, I went by Tuesday Morning beforehand, and got these:

Guardians of Harmony Spike - $19.99

Funko Sweetie Drops - $6.99

And on the way home I stopped by a small thrift store and found the budget Lyra Heartstrings. She was just $1. I already have her from the wedding singles, but this was technically different so I got her!

I know there's a MH Arena too, but I'm still awaiting for an approved registration email, so I guess I'll make a thread here first!

I've been admiring Monster High dolls from afar for quite awhile, not getting any because I don't really have space to start up more collections. But a couple weeks ago I figured, why not just get a couple that I want most? Last week I was browsing MH Merch, admiring the dolls and mentally making notes of which ones I really, really wanted. One of those was Honey Swamp (her first release), I thought her hair and colors were really cute!

When I was at the Goodwill yesterday, while in the checkout line I saw Monster High dolls locked up in their display (really hope they never decide to do this with ponies!). Among them was the Honey Swamp I wanted, so I got her! She (and all the rest of the dolls from what I saw) was $7.99! No accessories or stand with her, but I had to have take her home with me!

Pictures!

Got her to stand for all of five seconds to take this first photo!

Pony Brag Arena / Dollar Tree, Goodwill, and Walmart Haul!
« on: October 19, 2017, 03:56:16 PM »
Today was a good pony day for me! Not quite as amazing two trips ago when I found G2s at the Goodwill, but still nice.

The first stop was the Dollar Tree, my mom wanted to go there to get stuff to make crafts with, and I wasn't originally planning on getting pony merch, but I figured why not, since everything's $1.

Here's what I got there:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

(Individual photos)

Just a bunch of books and a night light.

Next was the Goodwill, my streak of finding pony stuff while thrifting continues!

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

(Individual photos)

And then I also found fakies there too:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

(Individual photos)

No company names on these, so I don't know who made them.

Finally, Walmart. I went there to get the pearly seapony Applejack and Rarity, they didn't have Rarity, but I did get Applejack:

I also got a plush Rainbow Dash backpack:

I plan on going over to the other local Walmart tomorrow for Rarity.

Pony Brag Arena / G3s at the Goodwill! (+one fakie)
« on: October 13, 2017, 05:49:30 PM »
Went to the Goodwill again today and had more pony luck!

Not as amazing as my last thrifting post, but still nice. All the ponies I found were G3s, and most have some issues, but still, ponies!

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Their hair is still a little wet in these photos, I cleaned them all off and conditioned their hair right after I came home.

Sunny Daze III:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

She has a hair cut, and her orange hair is falling out! I'll definitely rehair her at some point (does anyone have any matching color suggestions?). She's also got some purple marker in her mouth, I think that'll need sunfading. Despite her hair problems, I was excited to find her. The Donkey/Minty pose is my favorite G3 pose (they look so happy and excited to tell you something!), and I want each and every pony in it.

Cupcake II:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

This girl also has a hair cut, but not as bad as Sunny's. And she's really rattly when I shake her, not sure what's going on with that. But I'm afraid to take her head off because I can see there's a small tear in her neck plug so I'll just deal with it.

Tea Leaf:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Poor girl has a huge bite mark on her front right hoof! Thankfully this is on her NDS, but I feel really bad for her! Also I really love her hair colors, they look very pretty together!

Baby Butter Drop:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

This poor little baby also has a bite mark, on her back right leg. Not as bad as the bite on Tea Leaf, but this one is unfortunately on the display side.

Fluttershy II:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Now, I had this girl here already. But this one still has her pink hair, whereas the one I already had, had her pink fade to white. This one also seems different than the one I already had beyond that, when I look at the two side by side:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The old one (more frizzy hair, faded pink) seems lighter in general, the body seems lighter, the purple hair seems lighter. Whereas the newer one seems darker. Is Fluttershy II known to have color variations?

I also got this cute purple fakie:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Looked up her company (Greenbrier International), seems she's from the Dollar Tree!

They had other fakies too, but I don't have a shelf for fakies yet, so I just chose the cutest one (even though if I had grabbed the others it wouldn't have cost me any more, I just don't have space to put more fakies atm).

Pony Corral / Fixing tail rust on a Drink and Wet baby?
« on: October 07, 2017, 11:36:24 AM »
A couple days ago I got a Baby Snookums while thrifting. She's very cute, but has a bad case of tail rust.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Since she's a Drink and Wet, she has a tube that begins at her mouth, and ends under her tail. How do I go about taking her head off to get the washer out with that tube in the way? Does anyone have any experience taking off the head of a Drink and Wet pony?

42
I don't know what I did to be blessed by the pony gods today, but I must have done something!

My mom and I took a trip to Value Village (Savers, for you non-Pacific Northwest people), and of course, I was on the hunt for ponies. I found four bags with pony items in it, as well as a G3 book!

Bag 1:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

New things: G1 Baby Snookums, G4 Blindbag Mrs. Cake, G3 Ponyville Pinkie Pie

Dupes: G4 blindbag Pinkie Pie, G4 pearlized Rainbow Dash

Baby Snookums had dirty hair that had something in it (not visible but her hair was stuck together and hard), and she has tail rust. I cleaned her hair, but I don't know how to tackle the tail rust of Drink 'n Wet ponies, with that tube in them.

Bag 2:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Everything in here was new for me!

Rainbow Power Fantastic Flutters Princess Cadance (no wings), Rainbow Power Styling Strands Fluttershy, Rainbow Rocks Rarity, and Power Ponies Fluttershy.

Bag 3:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Small Ty Rainbow Dash plush, her hair is cut.

Bag 4:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Funko Apple Bloom, and also two Sanrio things and an Adventure Time toy that I'm also keeping

The G3 book:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

That alone would have been pretty cool, but then we also went to the Goodwill on the way home, this is where it gets very exciting!

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The Goodwill finds, G2s in the wild!

G2s: Canopy Bed Light Heart (missing the pink thing at the beginning of her tail, also seems to be missing some hair in her tail) and Seabreeze (mail order pony!!!)

G3s: Tiny Tins Sparkleworks, Rainbow Dash, and Sweetberry

G4s: 2016 McD Fluttershy and Play-Doh Rainbow Dash (no wings)

I'm really happy that I thrifted today.

I was really close to not getting Seabreeze too. A little girl was holding her and her mom made her put her back!

Here's individual pictures of them all after I cleaned them up!

Pony Corral / Recommended straightening iron for defrizzing hair?
« on: October 04, 2017, 09:47:40 AM »
When I get my first paycheck I want to buy a straightening iron so I can finally defrizz a bunch of my ponies' hair, but before I go out and buy one, I want to know if there are any specific ones people recommend and have good experience using. I'd like one that would do well with hair that has tinsel in it too.

Pony Brag Arena / Goodwill Finds! 4 DVDs, one pony

Stopped by the Goodwill today, as always I had to check for pony stuff!

I only got one actual pony, the Water Cuties Applejack:

She's my first ever Water Cuties pony! Her hair is a mess and needs to be conditioned. She also has some bite marks on her, most noticeably on her ears.

Then I found a bunch of pony DVDs! I got four of them:

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Wonka Nerds plush ID?
« on: September 19, 2017, 09:46:22 PM »
I don't know if anyone here is knowledgeable in candy merchandise, but I have this red Nerds plush that I've had for years, can't remember where I got it. It doesn't have its tags anymore, so I can't look up more about it through searching the company that made it.

Here are photos:

When Googling for information and images on Nerds plushes (via searching "Wonka Nerds plush"), all the ones I find images of have eyes made out of fabric. This one however has plastic eyes. Does anyone know anything about this particular Nerds plush?
