Pony Corral / Equestria Girls short - Costume Conundrum (SPOILERS)
« on: August 21, 2019, 10:19:39 AM »
So this is interesting. Equestria Girls sometimes does... choose-your-own ending videos? o.0 I didn't know this before today!

I found a 2 minute short called Costume Conundrum on DailyMotion, and it has three versions. They all start the exact same way, with Rarity, Fluttershy, AJ, and Sunset getting invited to a costume party. At the 50 second mark, the other three girls volunteer to help nervous Fluttershy find a costume, and she says "Hmm, who should I get to help me?" Then the rest of the video is different for each one.

Amusingly, with the AJ one, the two of them decide to go in a two-person pony costume! And it's a G1 pony! XD I love this, it's very adorable. And even though Sunset is shocked, Fluttershy assures her she likes the choice because no one knows it's her.

The Rarity one is... less amusing. Rarity puts Fluttershy in an amazing jeweled dress and then reveals at the end of the short that the dress is HER OWN costume. (Then why have Fluttershy model it? You two can't be the exact same size....) And then she gestures to the side and says Fluttershy can wear one of her old things (which of course is a display of equally beautiful gowns, wah wah, very funny). But the short ends right there and we don't even see them go to the party!

Okay but there's a funny part in the short where Rarity says "Darling" and then Fluttershy holds up a jar and Rarity is like "Oh, I said it again, didn't I?" and puts a coin in the jar. XD I loved that.

The last one has Sunset. She wants Fluttershy to wear something spooky. At one point she holds up vampire fangs and makes the ironic remake of "No.. I just can't see you as a bat." :P Then she puts together some sort of weird cthulhu-type monster costume? And Fluttershy trips and scares Bulk Biceps when they arrive at the party, which makes them both laugh.

So I liked the AJ one, but the other two were both kinda meh. But they're only two minutes long so they didn't really have any time to get into anymore more than a few one-liners. I don't usually watch EG so I'm not sure how common it is to have a series of videos that all start the same but have different endings? Interesting idea, anyway!

Additional Information:
--There's no codes on the packages to tell which unicorn is in which bag. You can tell which mold you have by carefully feeling the outline of the unicorn in the store before purchase. The best way to tell is to feel for the tail (some molds carry it high, some carry it low, the Clyds are short) and feel the mane (the Magnolia has an upright mane, the others lay flat on their necks) and whether the legs are straight or bent.
--Each box has 12 unicorns in it, so there are either 2 or 3 of each unicorn in a box. It seems to be that chase figures are found 1 in every 4 boxes. If the chase figure is in the box, it takes the place of one of the other unicorns, so there is never a box of 13.
--The last series, 3, is the easiest one to find the chase because there is no common Magnolia mold in that series, just the chase.
--Be very careful when handling your unicorns because these are as breakable as any Breyer figure. I have found unicorns in packages with broken off legs and broken off horns, sadly.

Note: Thank you to official Breyer website, IdentifyYourBreyer.com, and ebay for photos.

Off Topic / Overseas stamp is just $1.15!? (Penpals obtained!)
« on: August 10, 2019, 05:17:31 PM »
I had to mail a letter to Australia today and I was a bit wary, but to my surprise it was only $1.15!  :whoa: I had no idea overseas stamps were so affordable!

I know the price skyrockets when you're mailing a little package, but it seems like letters and postcards are pretty affordable right now! Would anyone like to be penpals with someone from New England? I don't write long letters, but I would love to have someone to send postcards or short letters to, and maybe cute flat things like stickers and bookmarks.

I love nature, wildlife, MLP, dragons, Japanese culture, folktales from anywhere, Halloween, cross stitch, arts n' crafts, writing children's books, and reading tarot cards. If any of that sounds fun to you, send me a PM!

I promise I won't go overboard sending you stuff lol. Maybe we could send each other a postcard or letter once a month or two?

PS: It doesn't have to be someone overseas, if you're in the USA and you want a penpal! A regular stamp is even cheaper than an overseas stamp. ;)

Pony Corral / Gimee your favorite MLP quotes!
« on: July 17, 2019, 05:42:21 PM »
I'm working on creating some of my own cross stitch patterns, and I like making bookmarks since they are simple and quick. Right now I'm doing a pattern of pink feathers that says "Pony Feathers!" on it, but I've run out of ideas after this one is done.

What are your favorite MLP quotes? Any gen is accepted. I'll take my favorites and stitch them up to show!

Shorter quotes are preferred since you can only fit so much stitching onto a bookmark. ;)

« on: July 10, 2019, 08:40:46 PM »
Was rewatching some FiM eps and I really can't get over Autumn Blaze and the awesome episode "Sounds of Silence." I love her character and the Kirin pony designs in general!

Anyone have any fanart or customs of Autumn Blaze? Or just kirin ponies in general? G4 or other gens, I love 'em all!

Pony Corral / Can't find Best Gift Ever for sale... did I imagine it?
« on: December 16, 2018, 06:27:38 PM »
-waves- Hey pony peeps! Been a while since I stopped by, and I'm here because I'm in hot water...  :lookround:

I swear when I was wandering around Christmas shopping last week, I thought I saw a dvd of the newest MLP Christmas special, Best Gift Ever? I passed it at the time because I was shopping for an office Christmas party, not for my family. But later on I realized it would be a great gift for my 4-year-old niece. So I asked her mom and she said she didn't own it and would love to watch it, so I said I would pick it up.

And now... I can't find it?  :( I tried Walmart, Best Buy, Target... Then I came home and tried Amazon.com and ebay. I did find a Region 2 dvd of it on Amazon, but I'm in the USA so that doesn't help.

I just don't get it... It's on Netflix, and it's perfectly in time for the holiday season. Why WOULDN'T it be for sale for people to buy for their kids?

Has anyone else seen it for sale? Maybe I saw a different MLP dvd for sale and confused it for the newest special...  -_-

Pony Corral / Pinkie Pie's been replaced?
« on: December 03, 2017, 04:32:50 PM »
I'm used to seeing Twilight Sparkle, RD, and Pinkie being the three "spokesponies" for MLP, when it comes to merchandise. I usually see them on T-shirts, backpacks, journals, etc. when the designer only uses three ponies. This was true back when Twilight was a unicorn, and still true when she became an alicorn.

But today when I went Christmas shopping, it seems like Pinkie has been replaced with... Fluttershy? o.0

I saw T-shirts, a ceramic lamp, Christmas wrapping paper, journal covers, and other small toys in the $1 bin... all of them had Twilight Sparkle, RD, and Fluttershy! How odd! All these items had the movie vectors, so I guess this is a recent change with movie-specific merch. (Which is ironic since Fluttershy barely did anything in the movie and Pinkie had a much more central role...)

I dunno what this change is about, but I find it very interesting.

(Random additional trivia: I also found a role of wrapping paper that had some of the Mane 6 but also included G4 Minty on it! Wow! It was the vector from her blind bag trading card. I guess they were desperate for a green pony to add to the normal color scheme of the Mane Six, which is severely lacking in green...)

For Sale - For Auction / Classic G4 Felt Stockings for Sale
« on: November 30, 2017, 08:48:12 PM »
I have four of these classic felt G4 stockings from before Season 3. (Behold, non-princess Twilight!) All four are unused, they've been sitting in my storage room since their purchase several years ago, and I think they should find some fans who will appreciate them. :)

All four look the same (see photo). Official tag is still attached, but a large price sticker has left residue on the back of the tags. Size of stocking is about 18 inches long (1.5 ft, length from my elbow to my fingertip) and 8 inches wide on the bottom foot part. Seams are sewn, not glued.

Asking $8 each, plus shipping.

Customs / Looking to Commission a G4 boy into a dragon! :D
« on: September 27, 2017, 06:08:20 AM »
Hey everybody! I haven't bought a custom MLP in almost a decade, but I fell in love with the G4 male pegasus mold that is in stores right now (Soarin). I was wondering if I could commission someone to make me a dragon-type pony using Soarin as the base.

This would be more of a "leave it up to the customizer to design" custom. I collect dragon-themed MLP customs. I have some that are just beautiful painted cutie marks, and some that have dragon parts sculpted on. Some with wings, some without. All different colors, all different gens. Basically just looking to have a cool dragon custom using this boy peg base. :)

Please feel free to post here or pm me with examples of your work and prices! I can provide the Soarin base and mail it to you if it will help the final price. :)

Pony Corral / Helping non-collectors is fun!
« on: June 29, 2017, 09:13:36 AM »
One of my non-pony collector friends found some of her old MLP's so I said I would help her ID them. This is so much fun! ^_^

Her: Ok. Purple pony with white flowers. 1982

Me: Earth pony, right? No uni horn or wings? That's Blossom. Does she have flat feet or concave feet? They released her twice lol.

Her: Flat

Me: OOOO! Hold on to her!

Her: Grey stallion, treasure chest, has a pirate hat 1987

Me: Barnacle! Omg You have his hat!!

44
I found this on Cracked.com and knew I had to find some doll collectors with wacky sense of humor who would appreciate this. XD

Just because you're a professional bakery doesn't mean you can't download free fanart from the internet for use on cakes, right?
