Hi all! Found this girl for 35 cents in HORRIBLE condition- extremely dirty, hair was ratted and missing plugs, ink stain on her shoulder. So I rerooted her in Moulin Rouge Saran from Retro Dolls US, cleaned her up, gave her a new handmade dress and turned the ink stain into a tattoo. Her hair has been rerooted with Retro Dolls US Lemon Fizz, Teal Fizz and Lilac Fizz (do not take her hair down, this is a CAM doll- so she has a bald spot where that hard patch is- the hair is pulled back to cover it up. We made it to the last round!! Whew! Here's a reminder of their assignment and prizes. Thank-you to all the participants in this contest and good luck to our remaining three! Saja: For this final round, I decided to stick with pushing my boundaries and trying something ive not done, so Saphire was created, she is a Mammoth, and she is a star. Gotbunny: Painted lady a dance hall girl spends her nights brighten the evenings of the many lonely men of the western towns with her shiny personality, bubbley laugh, singing and high step. But let her pretty looks fool you, she has a bite like a rattler if you cross her. I wanted to do something different and so I picked a Saloon girl from the old west. They were know as the painted ladies for they were girls that wore flashy outfits, dyed hair and lots of bling. This girl has a lot of detail and I could not get enough photos. Cameras just don;t catch the glitter, gems and perilzed paint. Corseted in a black corset that has pink ruffles with white flowers accented in pink gemstones. Her corset goes into a butterfly train that has little bees with glitter/ rhinestones and pearlized paint edging the hem. 2 strings of beads and pink ruffles with gems transistion the corset to train. Her black panties and lace pattered stockings are hand painted, sorry no closeup. The shoes are sculpted out of apoxie sculpt accented with a white flower. She has handmade beaded earrings, chocker, bracelet and a biutterfly in her hair. Her hair is a streaked pattern of DH goldylocks, and RDUS Lucretia with RDUS tinsel, put up in a twisted bun to pony tail on her head, her tail is twisted up into a bun held in place with pink rhinestones. As to why I should be picked, I rather not boast of my accomplishments nor down trod others. I would rather take this time to thank those who have taken the time to put this fun contest on as it has pushed me to try new things and strength my skills. To those who have commented, supported and bought my customs, I would not be here if it was not for you! And last to my mother who has encouraged me from a young age to keep trying and supported me on many adventures. Unfortunately Assassin_Kitty was unable to continue with the competition, which leaves 4 left. I will leave it up to the last four, if this is the last vote to determine the winner, or if we will have one last round. "Fuzzy Wuzzy was a...poneh??" The ponies loved their new outfits, but they're still growing a longer coat for winter- help them!! I decided to try something Ive not done before, so she is rooted with Suri alpaca fleece. That is tip dyed light pink, and she has sculpted horns and hair! I figured whilst on the subject of trying something new, Id try a pink custom, Im not usually a fan, but I think Pink Flare turned out well, and she is definately very warm with all her hair! So I thought it would be perfect for this challenge. Because of my total lack of sculpting skills (plus sculpting the hair textures would have taken me weeks if I used apoxie), I looked around online @ custom Breyer models for inspiration. Textures were made with modeling paste & a toothpic. The stuff is actually really flexible, so I had to take a little extra care when rehairing. I could have made the texture a little more defined, but I think they still looks pretty neat. Painted in acrylics, & rehaired in DollyHair curly nylon Apricot Mousse??? (it was an unlabled bargain bag). All in all pretty happy with the effect. A Tribute to the Great Eagle Owl, majestic and beautiful. I have had something of this in mind for a while, but finally figured I had the skill to pull it off. My first major attempt at sculpted hair and second on feathered wings. She started out as glitterglide, on of those annoying turn in the middle light up dancing ponies She had her skates removed and her innards of wires removed. I reenforced her middle but left her had turn-able still. Wings are wire mesh with each feather made out of apoxie sculpt. Her hoofs, horn, and part of her hair are also sculpted. I was going to airbrush gradients however, my airbrush broke so she was dry brushed with 3 different colors to give the affect of fur instead. Rehaired with Expresso, gingerbread and tunimsu. She is removable from her base and stands freely with out it.
