Off Topic / New plushie question help? (eyes 10/16/13)
« on: October 10, 2013, 03:50:29 AM »
Ok so I am working on a plushie project (my first) and it is going reasonably well so far.  That being said, I am having a terrible time with the head.  My previous methods for pattern making are not working and I can't find a free pattern that is similar to what I need.

It's a trex head, but it's cartoon trex so larger.  Basically rounded head and longer snout.  Any advice?

Off Topic / Seeking Digimon
« on: September 21, 2013, 08:23:07 PM »
Ok so my son's birthday and Christmas are coming up and I am terrified because he wants Digimon stuff, but the ebay prices are so high and I don't have a ton of money.  Is there an off chance that anyone here might have some items they would be willing to trade for other items?  Fair trade for value.  It would just help me if I could do item for items instead of having to spend a lot of cash up front.  But I would be willing to buy also.  (especially if we could work out a payment plan) Specifically, he likes the graymon/metalgreymon evolution.  But anything would be helpful.  (We already have some of the pvcs) Thanks for looking!

Off Topic / My Worbla adventure has begun. (ongoing)
« on: August 08, 2013, 08:09:16 AM »
Worbla is a heat reactive plastic that is malleable when hot and hard when cool. It is often used to make custom pieces for cosplay.  If I have some left I might sell it so drop me a line if you are interested in small quantities.

Just for fun...

Ok guys so I am helping my sister with her Halloween costume and a few of the components she wants to be made out of Worbla.  However, I have never used it before.  So I have been pouring over videos and tutorials for the past couple of days.  I have extensive sculpting experience so I am starting to think -Ok I can make this happen.  But I would really like to hear anything from people who have used it.  Tips, Tricks, anything that helped you.  Thank you so much!

Customs / Blind Bag Night Guard - Luna's Guard
« on: July 31, 2013, 07:53:52 PM »
Ok so it isn't 100% show accurate, but I still really like the way he came out.  Started from a BB boy base.  Sculpting is a combo of sculpey and apoxie.  Painted with Acrylics.  Sealed with Mod Podge Matte.  The wings are cut plastic they are not sculpted out of clay.  Sorry for the lame pictures my camera stinks.  Thanks!

Customs / Ah! Charred hair. Help?
« on: July 28, 2013, 05:42:05 PM »
Because of the design of this custom I rehaired first then sculpted and baked. I used a combo virgin snow from dh, pink licorice Saran from retro dolls and white also from retro dolls (Let me preface by saying I think it was retro dolls it was at the bottom of my stack and I am not 100% sure on this, so please don't think I am bugging enchantress.)

Well I put it in the oven at 275 for 15 minutes and the white has scorched. It smells and it's turned a creamy color. It's has never happened to me before. Is there any way I can save this custom? The sculpting is all done so I can't get the head off without completely destroying it. But the hair is obviously damaged and I can't send it to a new owner like this. It's for a swap but I can pm pics if needed.

All that work. Crap!

I think I can get a shot without revealing anything...

Customs / BB Shadow Bolt
« on: July 24, 2013, 09:41:53 AM »
Well I officially remember why I stopped doing blind bag customs.  They take forever lol.  I went out to the store and was able to grab a few baits but one in particular was poorly made.  (paint was awful and his hair literally fell off) so I figured it must be fate and I made this Shadow Bolt custom.  Symbol only on one side because I have a problem getting them exactly the same and it drives me batty.  Sculpted with Sculpey, painted with acrylics, sealed with pod podge matte. Thanks for looking!

Off Topic / Tuesday Morning ending online sales
« on: July 22, 2013, 05:28:48 PM »
We got a memo today that we are discontinuing our online sales.  So the stores are supposed to be getting all of the online stock that is left over starting with clearance and then large items, sale items, etc.  I know they occasionally get dolls and stuff so it might be worth keeping an eye on your local store.  We got a few boxes of it today but nothing to shout about yet.  That's all thanks!

Customs / Small Custom Gummy
« on: July 19, 2013, 10:50:24 PM »
I know there are several custom Gummys out there.  So here is mine. :) It's just polymer clay, painted with acrylics.  I need to do final touch ups and seal, but mostly finished. He is like half inch high, inch and a half long.  I think. *eyeball*

Customs / Private swap request
« on: July 13, 2013, 07:58:45 PM »
I've finished my commission list and although I have a few minor projects in the works I don't have something I am working on right now. So I am thinking about taking on a private swap. Anyone have slots open?

Still open for comissions also, but mostly just looking for something with a flexible work time frame I can work on little by little.

Open to theme suggestions.

Thanks for looking! Link to previous examples in my siggy.

Customs / Private Lolita swap with wiccanpony1
« on: June 26, 2013, 06:02:42 AM »
Woo! This girl arrived safely today so not I can show her off a bit.  I know the design is very simple but it took forever to make lol.  I hope you enjoy her. :) I was going for a more girly classic Lolita look.  The clothing is hand sewn and removable but it's a tight fit so I wouldn't remove it too often for fear the fabric might fray.  The symbol is done in sculpey, painted with acrylics, and sealed with a thin layer of mod podge matte.  She doesn't really have a name. I made her a hat (too bulky) and she has a flower pined in her hair with a cog in the center.

« on: June 25, 2013, 08:42:37 AM »
Ok I am finishing up a commission for some jewelry for Alatariel-Silimaure.  I am super nervous because even though I worked very hard everything isn't perfect and I want it all to be perfect since it's for her wedding.  Anyway they are en route to their new home so I figured I'd post them.

First some broach/earring sets (applejack, rarity, and firefly):
