I rarely poke my head into this area of the Arena.  I have been reading through a lot of threads and learned of so many problems  >_<

I, too, have my headaches, but I wanted to share something positive!!

I recently sold a Kitchenaid mixer on eBay and, unfortunately, the buyer received it damaged.  Although I had my doubts that it was really broken (he said the box was dented and the mixer smelled funny when he turned it on.  He's now scared to use it.  He's also a Powerseller specializing in electronics...*raises eyebrow*),  I fully refunded him and allowed him to keep the mixer.  I mean, the thing cost me $64.53 to ship TO him.  If it really was broken, he'd be out $64.53 too.  Didn't make sense to me.

I was really bummed.  I was out a mixer AND $64.53.  I've always had my doubts about the USPS insurance service.  Why, I don't know.  I went online and submitted my claim...and never expected to hear from anyone.

Well, I didn't hear from anyone.  Instead I got a check in the mail for the value of the mixer AND the $64.53 shipping costs.

The system WORKS!  I couldn't be more pleased that I did the right thing for the buyer and didn't lose my shirt to do it!  I just hope he gives me a positive feedback...

Okay, so, I just deleted my original post.  Attempt #3 to make sure I ID these correctly is going well!

DaintyDalek, thank you SO much for your help.

Having 55+ LPS to sell/trade inspired me to sign up with eCRATER.  I could never handle the eBay fees for all these guys!  >_<

(Let me know what you think of my new store!  Feedback is always appreciated)

Pony Brag Arena / My Money is GONE!
« on: August 10, 2013, 12:10:40 PM »
Because I spent it all!

It all started last night when my ponysense started tingling.  I went to the thrift store and found G4's. Yay!

As I was going to sleeep, the ponysense kicked in again.  I knew I should go to the monthly church rummage sale.  I woke up early and lo and behold, I spotted ponies before the car was parked!  G3's to sell/trade.  Whoo hoo!

I knew I should be content and go home, but I still felt a tingling...so I decided to go to the flea market.  I found two G1's, a G3.5, and close to 50 LPS!

As I type this, I have completely pooped ou in the middle of the Salvation Army.  No more ponysense...just a Spiff in need of a nap!

Pony Corral / G4's - "Pointy and Weird"
« on: August 09, 2013, 08:30:21 PM »
I just had a family member bust on me for collecting G4's.

When I asked which of my collection was her favorite, I got the response "I don't like any of them.  They are pointy and weird."

Can't please everyone!

Off Topic / Kong is 20% More AWESOME
« on: August 09, 2013, 07:57:11 PM »
A couple of weeks ago, my dog's Kong toy got all squishy and ooey gooey.  When I touched it, rubber would come off on my fingers like it was ink.

I searched the internet to see if this had happened to anyone else, what was the cause, etc.  I found no info at all.

So I went to the Kong website and submitted my questions on a generic "Contact Us" submission form.

A couple of days later, I unexpectedly got a very thoughtful response from Gina, a Quality Systems Rep.  She offered to replace the Kong if I could send it to her.  I did.

Today a box was in the mail.  I was very confused because I wasn't expecting anything...then I saw the Kong logo.

Wow.  Okay, so Gina sent me TWO Kong toys, a toy called a Squeezz, FOUR Ziggies dog treats, and a big ole catalog with a couple of brochures.  Oh, and a very nice personal letter.

I was, and am, SO PLEASED!  Completely unexpected.  Completely wowed.  And my dog was SO happy to have a new Kong...and treats...and a new toys that squeaks!  I made a little "Thank You" video featuring my dog playing with the new toys.

I just wanted to share my experience.  It's so refreshing to have such an awesomely personal experience with someone who represents a big ole company.  Yay Kong!  Yay Gina!

Off Topic / UGH! I Didn't Buy a Dongle!!
« on: August 05, 2013, 04:07:12 PM »
I was SO excited to get a copy of Rock Band with a PS3 guitar at the thrift store!

I've been sitting here trying to sync the guitar with my system and wondering why it doesn't work.

I don't have a dongle *head desk*

(dongle = adapter to plug into the system so the wireless guitar actually works)

I feel so dumb...and disappointed that I can't play the game until I go dongle hunting :(

I have a number of these Monopoly coupons that need to be used by 8/26/13...and I'm not going to use them!

Hate free things to go to waste.  PM me and I'll mail them to you!  If you feel like PayPaling me $0.46 for the stamp, I wouldn't say no :)

Quarter Pounder with Cheese
Medium Fries x 3
Small Frappe or Small Mc Cafe Smoothie

I might have more hiding in a pocket somewhere...

Off Topic / I'm NOT a Hoarder! I'm NOT! Really!
« on: August 04, 2013, 09:58:35 AM »
Okay, so I am ultra-sensitive about hoarding after watching a fair share of reality TV.

One thing I've noticed on these shows is when they re-organize, they use a lot of Rubbermaid bins.  I realized that a way to know you have too much stuff is when you start buying bins  :haha:

I live in a high-rise and each floor has a trashroom.  When people don't want to throw out "good stuff," they put it on the floor vs. tossing it down the chute.  Sometimes stuff is just too big, but we're supposed to haul it outside if that's the case.

I ALWAYS check my floor's room to see what's there....sometimes I check every floor   Sometimes I keep stuff, sometimes I sell it online, and sometimes I'll haul it off to Goodwill (like kids' toys/bikes/etc.  I cringe at the waste sometimes).

Anyway, this morning I found five like-new Rubbermaid bins that will slide under my bed.  Then I thought "wait, if I need bins...oh no!"

I am currently re-evaluating what I have to see if I need to get rid of stuff...or if I'm on my way to hoarding...

Does anyone else go through this?  I know we're all collectors, which makes this even harder sometimes!  I know I probably shouldn't use the term "hoarder" to describe myself because it's a serious condition.  I'm more of a "Clutterbug" if anything!

I just learned about the Mine Little Pony mod and am about to try it out.

I was wondering if anyone else plays Minecraft.  I've never done it multi-player and was wondering if someone wanted to team up!

I'm admiring my small herd of G4's and I am totally in love with Sunset Shimmer.  The colors and new eye shape have stolen my heart.

I know we're getting new ponies this year, and I am very thankful for all of them  There are so many really beautiful ponies in the show I'd like to see as brushables!

Lightning Dust
Sassaflash
Apple Fritter
Sweetie Drops/Bon Bon
Lotus Blossom
Cloudchaser

I know a lot of people use e-readers & tablets these days.  Me, not so much.  I love books that are book-shaped.  With pages and covers.  However, I donated almost all of my favorite books not so long ago because I know I can get them from my library anytime I want to (I rarely re-read books, even my faves...they were just taking up room).

I was watching something the other day and someone said "when I start dating someone, I always see what books they have on their shelf.  I can't date anyone who doesn't own books."  That got me thinking: what do the books I decided to keep say about me?

Aside from a Rubbermaid bin filled with my childhood faves (examples include "Bullfrog Grows Up" and "Brown Bear Takes a Bath") and a pile of magazines (Bon Appetit and Fitness, LOL), these are my books:

*ahem*

1) The Book of Massage
2) Women's Strength Training Anatomy
3) Yoga Anatomy
4) The Complete Guide to Beekeeping
5) The Art of Greek Cookery
6) Astral Projection for Beginners
7) The Complete Guide to Yoga
8) The Massage Book

If someone judges my personality/interests based on these books I think I may be in trouble XD

How about you?  Do you have a lot of books?  Have you given yours up?  What would someone guess you were like based on the books you have?
