I have used rit dye for 2 customs and that has worked well...I like it so much better then a repaint:) But I want to get creative...but kind of what some helpful tips so I can activate my ideas....if you have pictures and tips that would be great:)
*Does the plastic color of the pony make a huge difference with dye? Like if I use a pink pony and use yellow dye most likely will I get more of any orange pony?
*If I wanted to do a purple pony with pink feet...should I do pink feet and then dye in purple..or is there a way to keep dye off areas of the pony?
*Have you done multiple color hair with dye? Can it be done?
*How do you put wings into a pony? It really looks like you just stick them in...but how?

I made this girl in honor of my mom...she battled breast cancer for 6 years and in april she announced she is cancer free!!!! Lets see....In a swap I got a Dolly Mix G1 Firerfly. She was cute and fun...and exciting...but she came across the sea..so I gave up hope.....well now I got my hands on a G1 Gusty...sitting...AND SHE IS SO CUTE!!!! So here is the question.
Are they hard to find over seas?
Is there a huge list like wave blind bags?
Are some characters hard to find?
What is the orice for them...minus shipping?
I am thinking about collect them....feel free to add any info that would be helpful.

So i am in a contest. I have to tape myself singing the national anthem. I am wondering what i should wear in the video. I have a white dress that is a bit country looking. I also coul look more teenish....i am about 30. I could wear a red dress that is more form fitting and sexy....but tasteful. No extra views. I look more mature...there is no age. I know they want the voice more then anything but in my years as a performer you need to be the total package. So i need to be ready head to toe.
Second this is also an online contest...can i put a link or promo on the arena? Like sig or post ext....just want to not break rules.

Mothers day is coming up and i need some inspiration. My mom has been fighting for 6 years breast cancer...it kept coming back..well about may mom had a surgery that was either going to fix it or my family would have to say goodbye to my mom...we just got the news that the cancer has nor will it come back!!!! So this mothers day i want it special and i can think nothing better to get my creativity going than seeing mommy and baby pics....customs are welcome non traditional pairing as well:)

Watching FIM Season 1 with my hubbie...yes he is a bronie. But he made an observation. Unicorns can move things with their horns...but why cant they move their own body. They can create force bubbles...but not fly or float. Yes they can wink/appear in another spot but no floating or flying....why?

I am looking at dye a custom....any advice? I also have a few questions.
1. Has anyone used the dye that comes with the tie dye kits at walmart?
2. Can you just do the feet of the pony....or will it seep through the pony.
3. Can you use the dye in only the hair? Will the dye seep into the pony...i am talking more of just the tips of the hair but hair is on the pony.
4. I have an amberlocks that has teal/green heart teal and purple bows with yellow hair symbol...and she is a bit more red....he hair has yellow and amber colors....is she anything special? Has a few nondisplay marks that will not come off....didnt want to bait unless she was common....still almost too good to bait...so i havent decided...i just dont want to custom a rare pony.
New question...has anyone used yellow rit dye? I have a G3 pinkie pie that i want to yellow the hair and maybe feet...but would it go to an orange...i know i will not get a perfect yellow...but i dont want just orange.
Next question....gradiants do you just add water as pony stands in it?
The longer a pony is in dye the more the color shows is that true?
Last do you sink a pony in the dye if you are going an all over dye..does there need to be a weight or do you flip in timing?

Sigh...Well I grew up with G1 Ponies. I had so many growing up but my mom talked me into putting them in a box in an attic....15 years later I find out that something got in the box and my mom threw it out:( Yes I cry a little too... So now I am in the work in getting back my collection...I know this sounds like a whats your problem but it is not.
So in searching for ponies I have run along G2, G3, G3.5 and G4. Well G1 and G4 holds a place in my heart for many reasons. But I am not so sure about my G2, G3, and G3.5. So I was wondering what I should do. Should I start selling/trading my other collections to gain more of my G1 and G4....or hold on to them?
Have you ever regret selling collections? Do you feel that the arena just makes you want to collect them all? hehehehe...I feel that sometimes:)
I am in a mood that I want G1's SOOOOO BAD but can not afford to buy any:( I am not sure I really want these ponies....sigh I mean they are not too hard to get back...I just want thoughts or if you have gone through this.

My husbad has been helping me collect....so we ended up getting 2 fluttershy. So i went back to trade...and i got rainbow dash.....well it was rainbow dash from the last set. I checked it over and its the lightning comb...should i trade her since i have her...or keep her to possible custom?
Has that happen to anyone?

I am far from a picky collector. I love a good restore project. I am not good at fixing missing parts or heavy chew Mark's, but dont let that stop you from offering me something:) some ponies I want are out of my price range and if I cant buy them nice, a bait will also make me happy:)

My First Finished Custom!!!! I had others started but this is my first finished custom. I made this for an awesome friend who has joined the 27 club. My birthday is on the 27th and since I started college I have met others with a 27 Birthday...so it was great to find someone who loved ponies as much as I did with a 27 Birthday! I still figuring out what kind of hair combination I want to go with.
