Off Topic / And Today's Brainfart Is...
« on: February 16, 2012, 05:33:16 AM »
I went to pass an email onto my brother and somehow I managed to reply to my own email and send the email to myself.

I think I need more sleep. Anyone else got any 'brainfarts du jour' they wish to share. :P

Off Topic / So... Whatcha Playing?
« on: February 14, 2012, 05:28:18 AM »
Just out of interest what are my fellow ponies and bronies playing in the gaming department?
Most of my gaming time the last month or so has been dominated by Skyrim, I have four characters highest is level 40 something but I've not completed the main story on any
I've also been playing Alice:Madness Returns quite a bit too

And later on I'll play the ME 3 demo, once it finishes downloading I'll probably wait until my brother comes back home.

Pony Corral / Fluttershy Wig Help
« on: February 14, 2012, 04:10:33 AM »
So I'm thinking of maybe doing a Fluttershy cosplay and of course that means one big issue.
Finding a wig, (and of course probably a tail, unless I decide to go tailless)
Now I found this shop which has a 'Fluttershy wig' and also has an option for a tail:http://thefivewits.net/2010/06/secret-angel-princess-princess/
But at the same time, I don't really want to buy from a US seller if I can help it even though this seller doesn't seem to have a really high shipping rate. But if I could find something similar from the UK that would be helpful.

EDIT: I found this wig, but I'm still not sure: http://www.coscraft.co.uk/en/coscraft-wigs/82-betony-in-salmon-pink-mix.html

Pony Corral / Dollymix are still around!
« on: February 13, 2012, 10:52:04 AM »
So, I'm guessing some of you know this but I was suprised.
During the course of the day I ended up at my local ASDA and whilst in there I found they had a clip strip of Dollymix and had quite a few packets still around. I didn't grab any as I didn't have any change on me but if I can find an excuse to get up there I may get some packets as I'm still after a couple of ponies.

This was fun though, this is a mixture of Copic and Letraset markers.

And, here's a rather large sketchdump of stuff from last month and some stuff from the start of this month:

Trader & Shipping Support / Trading Question
« on: February 13, 2012, 05:04:02 AM »
Just a quick question for ya'll. /Applejack voice

I'm thinking of in the near future, probably when I'm done with college in a few months of maybe offering to trade art for ponies. Now I just want a bit of advice on how to do it, I've done art trades in the past and pony trades but never 'art for ponies' trades.
I'm guessing that I would have to create my half, (the artwork) before the pony was sent? Or at least have some form of WIP to show?

Off Topic / Warriors Of Virtue?
« on: February 13, 2012, 04:03:00 AM »
Today in my local Poundland and 99Pence store I found some action figures in the toy section. Now sometimes they get proper branded toys from time to time ie. they tend to have a lot of 'Golden Compass' toys.
I found a bunch of action figures that had anthro type creatures, they looked interesting so I took a closer look and they're apparently from something called 'Warriors of Virtue' from 1997. I've done some looking around and found it's apparently from some sort of film.

I'm wondering if anyone here has heard of it? I was thinking of picking some of the figures up mainly because I thought they look kind of cool. But at the same time, I don't know wether it would be a good idea for me to debox them either just in case.

So, after having a bit of a run of cruddy luck with charity shops in the last few months I had a little bit of luck today.
I was out this morning in my local town centre and walked passed the local YMCA shop just as they were putting out new plushies and spotted someone taking her out of a bag.
I was thrilled to get her, this same shop I managed to miss a RD plush a few months before. She needs a bit of a clean but other than that she's lovley, she's so soft!

Pony Corral / I lost a pony D:
« on: February 07, 2012, 04:29:36 AM »
Sunday, I went out in the snow and took my G1 Applejack with me. I ended up passing her to my brother and he put her in his pocket on the way home. I get home take her out of his coat and decide since I was going on the XBOX which is in his room I'd just put her up ontop of the games.
Big mistake.
Yesterday, one accidental nudge and she fell off the games and behind the cabinet type area where the XBOX is. Getting behind there is really tricky so my poor AJ is stuck there until we can MacGuyver her out of there.

Pony Corral / Re-Curling Dancing Butterflies' Hair?
« on: February 01, 2012, 12:16:39 AM »
So I'm finally getting around to cleaning some ponies and I need to redo Dancing Butterflies' hair. She did have curls when I brought her but because she really needed a good clean (she was really gunky on the inside) I ended up wrecking the curl in her hair (I really kicked myself over that D: ).

I know how to get the tight 'ringlet' type curls you get from straws/markers but how would I go about sorting out DB's hair? As the curls she has are a lot looser.

Off Topic / Some People!
« on: January 30, 2012, 02:17:06 PM »
Thought I'd share this story from college. It was annoying at the time but to be fair it's more funny than anything.
So today I was waiting for a class with some of my classmates. And we were in the new block of college which has been opened. This block has a bunch of dedicated classrooms to the animal care section namley for equine and veterinary nursing. They redid the 'vet room' which has a bunch of stuffed toy dogs which are used for practicing techniques such as bandaging, restraint etc.
Whilst we were waiting a class was in that room and using the dogs when this rather large group of chavvy looking guys come past and walk past the room and they give a very enlightened insight
"They get a qualification just for playing with toy dogs, how pathetic!'

Yes, it's not as if I've been working my backside off for the last four years, no all I've been doing is playing with toys.
