So, I make custom jewelry. I already posted a pic of the Snuzzle bracelet I made, and I hope everyone liked it. So, now I am making a Fluttershy themed piece for another collector on here, and I was wondering, who would you all like to see done into a piece of jewelry? It would be the colors and possibly symbols (depends on what I have right now...I can get charms, etc later...just not at the moment). Right now, I also have a partially completed one based on Gusty...I ran out of the right size of white beads for it though, so I am having to be creative!
Please leave me input on who else you might like to see turned into a piece of jewelry! I know the list isn't that long, but I just had a few that I wanted to throw out there. =]

So I remember hearing that Ploomette is hard to find...but is that correct? If so, then my walmart is just darn lucky...there are 3 Ploomette Glimmer Wings down here in Texas (at least as of the last few hours). I'd never seen her before, and though I am no fan of the glimmer wings, I really want that peacock in her box. xD

So...I finished rehairing my paisly girl (YAY! I think I may make me a rehairing tool now xD) and she looks great! Only problem is, there are kinks in the hair where i pulled it through with my thread. I ended up using Fireline fishing thread. I bead with it, and it's super strong. I have yet to have a piece of jewelry break on me, even with crystal so close to the cord. But, now I am left with the kinks. I am thinking that just pouring hot water over it should help, right? Then brush it through and let it lay flat? Or do y'all know of a better way to make it work? Wet hair and a flat iron maybe?
I got the hair off of a dollar tree headband for little girls...it's not great, but it's all i had at the time that would match her body colors. Anything else I had just wasn't quite right.

Ok...so there are some MLPs in this brag. And some Grand Champions. So I guess that counts as a model horse brag, in a way... But, what I really wanted to brag on was DH. Jason has not only been very understanding of my hobby (which spans 4 different kinds of model horses,  ), but has been very supportive as well. I got a text yesterday afternoon, and he said he had found me some Grand Champions. I thought he didn't pay attention when I was going through my old models...turns out, he was. He got me a few and is bringing them home today. =D I was so excited! =D He also told the woman who owned the shop to keep an eye out for any MLPs, Breyers, and GCs that came her way, and to let us know. He is looking to help me expand my collection, squee! =] Also...while I am on this topic...he drew a design on a bait pony of mine, and I painted it in...turns out he is great at tribal type art, and has thus customized his first pony. Kinda. xD ONWARD PROGRESS! Pony corruption, 75% complete! Mwuhahahahaha!! And to finish.... HORSIES!! Will post pics when I get them. =D

So I want to run an idea by everyone. I design and make jewelry as another hobby of mine, and I wanted to know if there would be any interest in custom MLP jewelry. Not with charms of the ponies themselves, and all that, but custom jewelry based on both the original ponies, and on pony personas.
I intend to do up some sketches and possibly some prototypes tonight/this next week or so. So for Cherries Jubilee, do a pink bracelet/necklace, with 5 cherry charms attached to it. I can do anything from charm bracelets to more intricate pieces...I even thought about molding different symbols, since finding the right charms isn't always easy.
So what kind of interest is there in such an item?

So...I'm working on my first custom. She needs to be rehaired now, and I need to gloss her eyes, but after that, I should be done. Sealed her symbols with modge podge three times. So...my softer bodied mlp is not taking my dye. o.o Any suggestions? I've got the water hot, the pony completely submerged...now I'm thinking I might just leave her in there for a while and see what happens.

So, I was awake all night last night from not feeling well, and my mind wandered from sheep to ponies. (couldn't possibly be because I got 4 in the mail yesterday, could it?) I have myself four pretty little bait bodies, all waiting to be done up nicely, and my conundrum right now is the following questions.
1. Sealing the pony?
I have heard several different sides to this; some say yes, some say no, some say just the cutie marks. I would rather seal it than have the paint chip (I'm a rather clumsy pony owner at times, I am ashamed to admit). Now, on the topic of sealing it, I have heard Modge Podge does well. My next rounded question to that is, if you use MP, do you use gloss, or the matte, the spray, or the glop-in-a-jar? Does it have to be a specific type of MP? Do you do the whole body, or just the mark?
2. Rhinestones?
I have seen rhinestones on the ponies, and I was curious what people were using, and what they were using to keep them on? I have quite a few clear ones left over from my veil project, so I am tempted to use them, but I want them to stay on. Do I need to seal them as well?
3. Gluing the head?
Is it really necessary, or can it be skipped?
4. Nail Decals?
I have heard it before, don't use nail polish...but no one says anything about those cute little decals...has anyone used them before? Refer back to question numero uno, if yes. ;]
5.Dyeing the pony?
I've heard several different variations of this as well. When you dye the pony, do you immediately dunk said victim into vinegar, or just let it sit? Do you use salt, and if so, what kind? How do you do that, just make ocean water and baptize the bald, scalding, freshly recolored pony in it?
If i happen to think of the other questions that were nagging at my mind, I will add them to here as I go. =]

I was curious as to who all was in my area...would love to meet more North Texans who still collect MLPs. I live in a small town called Granbury, about 45 minutes SW of Ft Worth, so kinda in the boonies...worst part is, there are no true thrift stores here, only consignment shops and what not. I have yet to see a MLP there, and they aren't showing up at garage sales around here...but I still hope to find some one day! =D

Hi all! I used to be a member, once upon a time, and I have since forgotten my username and password and what not, but I am coming back due to a renewed interest (and time) for customizing ponies, and trying to find my childhood toys. I hope to one day be as good as many of the customizers here, and since my husband is supportive of my habits, I should be able to at least practice! =D
Anyway, good to be back and see all the activity going on, and I hope to make quite a few new friends!
