Pony Corral / Anyone else see the $970 auction last night?

There was an Ebay auction that went for $970 plus $50 shipping last night! Anyone else watch that auction? I was watching it out of curiosity to see how high it would go; it was way too expensive for me.

But I thought it might go for $500 or $600 . . . guess I was a little off! It had a TAF Buttons, Munchy, Cha Cha, Oakley, and a Mimic in it, plus many more ponies, making ninety ponies total. There were some awesome-looking windy wings and summer wings. In fact, every pony looked awesome, very good condition. There were lots of big brothers with their hats and bandanas (other ponies were often wearing them, lol).

Did anyone here win that auction? I'd love to know if there were more ponies than were in the pictures and who they were. . . the seller posted a note about there being 90 ponies instead of the 78 in her original listing. Did anyone here watch/bid on that auction?

Wanted! / Little Pretties (look like My Little Pony cat fakies), esp. Cherry Blossom

Hi! I'm looking for Little Pretties, the little pastel cats and dogs made by Mattel in the late 80s and early 90s. They're often found in MLP lots because they look pretty similar, since both toy lines are colorful with plastic hair and symbols. Currently I'm especially looking for Cherry Blossom, a lying-down pink kitten with teal hair and cherry blossoms as her symbol.

In order of priority, here's my list:

1. Cherry Blossom (pink kitten with teal hair)
2. Baby Buggy (has no official name) (pink kitten with pink hair)
3. Baby Tee Hee (white kitten with reddish hair)
4. Rosette (pink puppy with dark pink hair)
5. Happy Heather (purple puppy with yellow hair)
6. Perfuma (green or blue puppy with green or blue hair . . . not sure)
7. Baby Bibsy (purple kitten with yellow hair)

and Rosebud's white lace ruff

I had two first ponies -- Glory and Peachy. When I was three, my mom and I went to a thrift store and I was playing with those two. My mom says I liked them so much, the thrift store lady gave them to me.

That started my whole collection . . . Who were your first ponies? Do you actually remember the moment you got them?

Pony Brag Arena / Birthday brag!

My birthday was actually last week, but I'm just getting around to posting. It was really a pony birthday! First, the Friday before my birthday, Mom and I went pony-hunting and she treated me to the ponies we found (G3s).

I'm not too familiar with their names (except for Sweetie Belle and Pinkie Pie, who have their names written on them, lol). I have to clean these guys up; Baby Sunsparkle (?) has pen marks.

At the thrift stores, we found some cool random stuff. The Zorua is for my sister.

I was thrilled to get Puddles and Peeks. They're in great condition. Some of these were on my wish list, but some were a surprise, like the October birthflower pony.

Sunglider was the last one I opened. She cleaned up pretty nicely but has a problem standing up! The little penguin has to help her.

Wanted! / Wanted: Little Pretties (often mistaken for MLP cat fakies)

Hi! I'm looking for Little Pretties, the little pastel-colored cats that were made by Mattel in the late 1980s. (I mostly collect the cats, not the dogs.) They're often found with MLP lots and mistaken for fakies. I'm specifically looking for a Pinkums in good condition (she's a little pink kitty with cherries as her symbol) and Cherry Blossom (a lying-down pink kitten with blue-green hair with cherry blossoms as her symbol). If you have other Little Pretties, I'd be interested in seeing them, too. Thanks!

Pony Brag Arena / Unexpected Pony Haul

Last Friday I took a walk with my mom and mentioned how expensive ponies are these days and how I wanted to go on a pony hunt and find some ponies at a thrift store (though I doubted I would find many, if any).

To my surprise, later that morning she called me and told me that she had found "some of what we had talked about that day" (she didn't want other people in the thrift store to know what she was talking about) and then she began to describe what she'd found to make sure they were really My Little Ponies. She kept feeding me descriptions and I was like, "yes, get that one," thinking that she'd just found a few, but then she said something about "two buckets full" and I said she should get them all.

So here's what she found! We've never had such a big pony haul. What a blessing!

I especially like Princess Primrose and Snookums. I'd been wanting a Lovin' Kisses (the white sweetheart sister), a Baby Starburst, and a playset Majesty, too, and there they were! I have to find a tail for Majesty. My sister didn't have a Princess Tiffany of her own and took her. What an unexpected surprise this was!

Introductions / Hello!

Hi! I'm getting back into collecting ponies after a long hiatus (things like school kind of got in the way). I found a Forget-Me-Not in an antique store this Christmas and since then have slowly starting collecting again.

I've collected G1 ponies pretty much literally all my life, becoming a serious collector around 1997--2005. My sister and I own a collection of about 200 or more ponies. My first ponies, my mom tells me, were Glory and Peachy, and I got them secondhand when I was about three when a thrift shop lady gave them to me because she saw that I was playing with them a lot. I received a lot of G1s secondhand when I was little and also can remember buying my own from the stores -- sparkle Baby Firefly, Li'l Honeypie, Starglow, movie version Firefly, mermaid baby pony, and more. I was pretty young when I began a serious My Little Pony collection (around '97) and can remember the first days of My Little Pony on the Internet and how cheaply you could buy ponies back then.

As I got older and as school and other things became my focus, I left off collecting, though even then I wouldn't have considered selling my ponies.

Glad to be collecting again and hope to get to know you all soon.
