Pony Corral / which to use for customs: cheap baits or expensive retro ponies?

Hello,

Now I am planning to make some mlp g1 customs in the future.

I originally was looking for cheap baits, because they are cheap and often hard to/beyond repair.
I can't help but think I'm offending/hurting the community for doing so. I wanted to buy the retro reproduction of them but I can't find them for a reasonable price.
Where I live we have no 10 dollar repro walmart/target ponies

, for all I know, they have never been sold here at all.
On ebay these ponies (in the pose im looking for) go for at least 20 bucks each without (the often aslo 20 bucks) shipping.
Cheap, slightly baity ponies come up for cheap here tho. Like a white haired posey with big pink pen marks but nothing wrong otherwise, whixh isn't baity enough and I fear for the rage...

edit: I've looked into the hqg1c website but again struggles with poses/shipping/prices

Any advice here? I just want to make my own versions of the celestial swirl ponies and maybe a conjoined twin but I don't know which ponies to get.

Pony Corral / are windy wings (with wings) and non pearly baby seaponies (sea shimmer) rare?

So basically the titel is the question.

Now I basically got a non pearly sea shimmer ( no float), summerwing pony high flier (with wings) and a sundance and confetti.

Now I payed a bit over 30 bucks, which I think is a good deal. Now I went on ebay to see the prices for the loose ponies there and there I saw it......dun dun duuuun!

A non pearly baby seapony sea shimmer for 126 dollars...

Is she rare? Is ebay crazy? did I get a crazy rare pony? Didn't I?

also the windy wing ponies seem to have fair prices on ebay.

Please let me know

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody is selling damaged/baity ponies for cheap(er) prices.
I really want to buy in lots. I'm looking to restore ponies.
Any windwhistler is welcome, though I won't be paying 30-40 dollars for her like on ebay...

I live in the Netherlands, eu. If the shipping isn't crazy expensive I have no problem buying international.
I will cover the shipping costs myself.

Pony Corral / ever bought a pony and realize you like/dislike them more then you thought?

I bought many ponies but fortunately none so far have made me regret getting them.
I'm pleasantly surprised mostly. I didn't know I would like the second wave of the g1 rainbow ponies that much (halfway there

) and I keep reaching for lemon drop.
For my g4 ponies I'm mostly disappointed in the hair quality, but not in the pony in general. Plus blind bag doubles, but I customize those.

edit: I once bought a gorjuss ruby doll but I haven't been able to bond with her yet, thinking of maybe selling her..

So how about you? Ever been pleasantly surprised? Deeply regretted buying somepony? If so, who was it?

Please tell me.

Pony Corral / what is your opinion on g1 saddles and bridels

Now the other day I got a lickety split in a small lot. She was wearing a pretty parlor saddle.

I don't know what I want with it. Like how did ponies get saddles (I know from megan, but aren't they like wtf that's so weird)

Some people think they look cute on the ponies but I'm not sure

So what do you think?

Bridels on ponies that are talking? cute accesoires? kinda weird?

Pony Corral / best and worst thrift store experience (please tell me your story)

Hello,

So I went to two thrift stores today. (No pony luck, but a nice yellow sweetox neopet plushie for 50 cents, yay)
The first thrift store was fine, and where I found the plushie. The second I have at least spend 10 minutes trying to find the toy aisle...

So do you have any thrift stories? Was it good? Bad? Did you come back/never come back for any reason? But like only because of the store/people,not necesarily because of any good finds.

Pony Corral / peroxide bath advice? please help :)

I've heared a lot about peroxide bathing on this forum, but how does one go about it?
And what ponies are safe to use? I have a taf yum yum in bad shape but I wont try anything like this on her before I know exactly what I'm doing.

I basically keep all the g1 ponies I don't already have.

It just so happens that I now own 3 first tooth baby ponies without me wanting to actively buy or collect them.
I'm happy I have them tho.

Did this ever happen to you? If so what line was it? And what generation? Was it even ponies?

MLP Nirvana / Nirvana butterscotch variant confusion (please help)

So I bought this pony lot and I was lucky enough to have an italian butterscotch

I went to my little wiki.com : http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/G1_Butterscotch and here I saw that she had a variant...

Now here's my question(s) Isn't italian butterscotch already a variant because she looks so different from the original? (the website says variant 1 and 2)
Is she a double variant? As far as I can tell she doesn't have airbrushed eyes. So I think I own 'variant' one but is she a variant?

If someone could please answer that would be great

Also, she wouldn't happen to be ultra rare right...*wishful thinking*

I'm selling this baby cuddles. she's in pretty good condiotion. Her head and body are slightly discoloured. Her eyes, marks, freckles and blush are all completley intact.
She has her original, pink hair. It's soft but I think her mane is a bit less pink then her tail. She has no spots/ pony sickness (I know it's called cancer but I call it sickness), she has no plastic decay, mold. Only a yellow-ish spot on her neck. I'm not sure what it is but it's not major.

Pony Corral / what is your opinion on pony wear?

I see lots and lots of pony wear everyday, which I love. what's your opinion? Do you collect pony wear? mib? loose? or do you derspise everything of it? And form which generation? Do you make it, or design it? I'm currently showing interest in g1 pony wear but I haven't figured out how to sew it from them yet.

Customs / is this pony okay to customize?

Hey,

I have this baby cuddles pony which is in good condition, all that's wrong with her is a bit of tail discoloration. She is super common and I don't think I'll have any luvk selling/trading her. I haven't done anything to her (except for a clean up and spa day) but I was wondering if it would be bad if I customize her because she's in good condition. What do you think?
