Pony Corral / G1 through g3 fandom becoming extinct?
« on: June 04, 2017, 07:26:53 AM »
I know there are still many old gen fans hanging around, but things like old gen forums seem to be dead (even most g4 forums). Is the fanbase for the first 3 gens shrinking? Moved elsewhere? Or maybe I'm just not in the loop as to where all the old timers are milling around, these days. Am I worrying too much?
G4'ers are so reluctant to discuss anything from g1 through g3. Its like pulling teeth
Will it continue to shrink as mlp progresses in the era of g4, and future gens?

Off Topic / Big people and massages
« on: June 02, 2017, 11:47:56 PM »
I'm someone who has a lot of...meat...and I don't really like looking at myself. Problem is, I really want a massage, because of stress. I don't know anything about choosing the right spas, and I fear that I will be body shamed, or treated differently than the slimmer clients.

Pony Corral / Majesty was pretty hardcore
« on: June 02, 2017, 11:25:28 PM »
Last name "Majesty", first name, "Don't mess with".
Anyone remember how she used to turn trolls who were begging on their knees for forgiveness into stone? Or turn what she percieved to be irredeemable villains into bubbles? Kinda makes Starlight Glimmer look like a joke, by comparison.

Off Topic / Who are you?
« on: May 15, 2017, 11:22:31 PM »
Sure, you may have introduced yourselves in the Introductions forum at some point or another, but that may have been a while, and not everybody knows each other here (or care to go searching through a ton of other threads to go back and find who YOU are, and what you're all about) So let's all get to (re) know each other, or learn about each other for the first time, yeah?

I’m a struggling with social anxiety, multi-faceted artist who likes thrifting, drawing, watching anime and reading manga, coording gothic, lolita, gothic lolita, envying shironuri fashions, short-fuse, short-stature person who finds it terribly difficult to get in touch with a spiritual, peaceful lifestyle.

who are you guys?

Pony Corral / Mother of the franchise, Bonnie Zacherle
« on: May 11, 2017, 10:20:15 PM »
I wrote a song, guys. It's a Ballad to Bonnie

sing the song of our pony creator
No woman alive has ever been greater
Brought to life the dear ponies we know
her legacy gave us the FiM show
Through generations, she's earned the respect
Its thanks to her that we can't forget
that little ponies are alive in our hearts
and forever we're grateful for what she did start
Zacherle, no one can compare
all the love for ponies we share
You are the best, and we owe it to you

may love for your ponies always shine true
Thank you

(anyone who wants is welcome to try and make this into an actual song)
Blessed be the mother of the franchise! Happy (early) mother's day

Do you guys think that anyone in the fandom will remember the mother of the entire franchise, for Mother's Day? Discuss Bonnie Zacherle, and her accomplishments in creating the long lasting legacy of pony

I hate that Spike's first non pony friend, little Strongheart, the buffallo, wasn't brought back. No episodes, no cameo, nothing, yet his newer friends, Thorax an Ember show up a lot more often. Kind of like how Apple Bloom dropped Twist after she got her cutie mark. So should Little Strongheart return, or should g3 Toola Roola, a pony with the same VA, be Spike's newest friend?

Every time I see franchises like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, etc. Doing big movies for their milestone anniversary (YGO Dark Side of Dimensions, Pokemon I Choose you!) or complete g1 reboots or retellings (Pokemon generations, Digimon Adventure Tri) it makes me sad that Hasbro hasn't done the same with their pony franchise. I know they're a toy company first, but seeing just a visually enhanced g1 movie come out, with the same content, while anime companies are going big or going home is pretty depressing. There's so much potential that can be done with a g1 reboot, big aniversarry movies and events, cross dimension shenanigans involving all the pony gens, but yet.... Nothing. Bummer.

What do you guys think?

Pony Corral / Running Press vintage ponies Firefly and Glory
« on: March 26, 2017, 09:19:16 PM »
I found replicas of g1 ponies made by Running Press, at my Local B&N, and have had Firefly and Glory in my collection for a while now. Aside from a coloring pack and a cup (both found at my local 99 cent store) of the g1 ponies, these Running Press ponies are the only g1's I have. (Sadly)

But what I would like to know is- since these were released in g4's era, do vintage collectors consider these Running Press ponies (and any other merch with g1 ponies on it) as g1's or g4's?

What are your thoughts on these Running Press ponies, Firefly and Glory, who are both smaller than g1's baby ponies?

Are such tiny ponies worth their $10 pricetag? Why do you think they're so pricy, when g4's 3.5 inch ponies are half that price?

Who do you guys think Running Press will release next?

Pony Corral / What are your thoughts on G4.5 ponies?
« on: March 25, 2017, 06:00:54 PM »
Those new molds of ponies that ushered us into the age of generation 4.5- what are you guys' thougts on them? I've watched a few comparison vids on YT, where people critisize how they look compared to the g4 molds, and I've also seen them invading local stores, and my thoughts are- they're nasty. The legs look like noodles, and there's too much space betwen them (back view is horifying), the heads are too bubbly and round, the muzzle shape scares me, the eyes are too big and "anime"-ish, and I've heard that the manes feel "greasy" compared to g4. They look like Hasbro tried to borrow the style of "Pokemon" Alola region anime for the g4.5 ponies, and it just resulted in a mess that I'm not throwing any money at (and if they release Sunset Shimmer, Vinyl Scratch,  Luna, or Star Dreams in that style,  then I'll be in BIG trouble).

What are your thoughts on this 4.5 gen? How long do you think these molds will be around?

Pony Corral / Star Dreams is rare, but is she loved?
« on: March 21, 2017, 10:35:18 PM »

There exists a g4 toyline pony filly named Star Dreams, who has only been released thrice (Sweet Slumbers Playset with Applejack, Cutie Mark Crusaders and Friends set, and the Cutie Mark Magic Pony Spa with Rarity and Rainbow Dash.) She's pretty rare, but I adore her to bits. Even made a fanclub (along with a fanfic and numerous theories and headcanons) for her
https://mlpforums.com/topic/148656-star-dreams-fanclub/
But no one seems to know she exists or appreciate this lovely little filly. I count myself fortunate that I happened to find her at Kohl's a few years back, in the pony spa set, because she's adorable!
Does anyone else have this filly in their collection? Am I the only one nuts enough to create theories, fanclub's, fanfics, fanart, and headcanons for this toyline exclusive pony? (And if anyone would, at the least like to do fanart of her, I wouldn't complain...)

Introductions / Ohayoat!
« on: March 19, 2017, 09:48:56 PM »
Hello people of the pony board. I just joined, prefer being addressed as "Muffin", or NmM, and I like all things pony. I really enjoy making pony OC's, drawing ponies, writing about ponies, thinking up pony theories, and watching reviews/analysis/theories of others, trying to spread appreciation for past generation ponies, finding pony merchandise,  listening to pony music by the fans of g4, and- well, you get the idea. Some of my favorite ponies (all gens) are Star Dreams, Sunset Shimmer, Pinkie Pie, Spike, Princess Luna, Maude Pie, Fluttershy, Kimono, Whimsy Weatherbe, Starcatcher, Puzzlemint, Toola Roola, Surprise, Shady, Firefly, and All the Flutterponies.

I also like anime, manga, and animals (especially the cute and fluffy ones)! Nice t'meetcha!
