Pony Brag Arena / Rummage Sale Finds
« on: March 21, 2012, 08:13:42 AM »
I found ponies at the rummage sale last night! Well, technically 2/3 of them are plushies, but still... Anyway, here they are! Click the pictures to make them bigger.

Bedtime Blessings. I'm generally not crazy about yellow, but she's so cute. She talks, too. Her hair's a mess, but I think I'll be able to tame it.

Jumbo 25th Birthday Pinkie Pie. She's huge; like two feet long. She's in really good shape, but she smells a bit dusty. It should be safe to wash her, no? As long as I don't put her in the dryer?

Styling Starcatcher. I was so thrilled to find her; I had one a few years ago and I have NO idea what happened to her, so I was happy to find another one.

Her hair is really frizzled in spots, to the point where I can't even comb through it. I've made some headway, though.

One issue with her, other than the frizzy hair... She seems to be stuck in "pink mode" on one half of her body. I can't get the pink to fade all the way. Does anybody have any idea how to make it so she'll stay white?

Pony Corral / Styling Starcatcher question...
« on: March 20, 2012, 09:08:09 PM »
I wasn't sure if this went here or in Customs... I apologize if this is the wrong board.

Anyway, I just got a styling-size Starcatcher, and she seems to have half her body stuck in "pink mode"; the color doesn't fade away completely with heat.

Is there any way I can make the color-change paint stop working and make her stay white? Or remove it without taking off her other paint? I don't want to customize her, but she looks a bit strange with this half-pink thing she's got going on.

The Dollhouse / Anyone interested in BFC Ink dolls?
« on: March 19, 2012, 09:10:15 AM »
My mom recently gave me two BFC Ink 18" dolls, and I really don't have any place to put them or anything. So I was wondering if anybody here would be interested in them.

The two I have are Aleisha and Noelle. I don't have any pictures yet, but I'm trying to find them on Amazon to show exactly which dolls they are.

EDIT: Found them.

Aleisha
Noelle

Both of mine are new in the boxes. I don't know what would be a good asking price; I was thinking $25 each, plus shipping? I'd be happy to debox them (at your request) to save on the shipping.

The Dollhouse / Rehairing a doll?
« on: March 16, 2012, 05:31:18 PM »
Is rehairing a doll (specifically a Barbie or Ken-type doll) the same concept as rehairing a pony? Can I use the same supplies for a doll that I would use for a pony? Does anybody have any advice on what I should and shouldn't do?

My biggest concern is getting the doll's head off without breaking their neck. I've de-headed Barbies before with no real issues, but I've never tried a Ken before and one of the custom ideas I've got in my head would be a Ken.

The Dollhouse / Price Check: PJ Sparkles, Baby Face, SSC
« on: March 05, 2012, 09:49:54 PM »
I found these guys at a thrift shop over the summer, and I was wondering if anyone could give me a price check on them. I don't have any pictures, but they're in good played-with condition.

The first doll is PJ Sparkles. I don't have her clothes, and I can't say for sure that she works. She did light up, but only briefly and very very dimly. I don't know if it's something wring with the doll or if it was the battery I used.

Next is  a Galoob Baby Face doll. I looked them up, and I THINK this one is So Surprised Suzie. I don't have her nearby at the moment to compare to the picture I found online so I'm not positive on the ID there. No clothes for her either.

Third, a vintage baby Strawberry Shortcake doll. I looked her up, and I think she's the "Blow Kisses" doll? No original clothes, and she doesn't seem to be scented anymore.

I'm just wondering if they're anything worth putting in my sales thread, and if they are, how much I should ask for them.

Pony Corral / Is this a variant?
« on: March 04, 2012, 09:43:40 PM »
I recently bought a G3 pony lot on ebay, and I noticed that one of the ponies (Sweetberry Surprise, I believe?) has her hoof heart on the side without a magnet. Are all Sweetberry Surprises like that, or is mine odd?

Any idea if she's worth any more than the average G3?

Off Topic / Would anybody be interested in scans of these Valentine cards?
« on: February 15, 2012, 03:53:47 PM »
I picked up a few packages of kid's Valentine cards on clearance at Walmart today, and I'm going to scan them so I can use the art for graphic-making. Would anybody be interested in the scans if I upload them? The cards I got are:

Monster High
Tangled
Disney Princess

I think I might have some old Harry Potter and possibly Pokemon ones laying around too; if anyone would like scans of them I can try to find them.

The Dollhouse / For Sale: Bratz Doll Clothes (fits Monster High)
« on: February 14, 2012, 10:21:25 AM »
Going through my various clutter last night, I came across a bunch of Bratz clothes. I have no use for them myself, so I thought I'd offer them here. Here are links to the pictures:

Jackets
Tops
Long Pants
Short Pants
Skirts
Dresses
Pajamas
Misc. Stuff

Everything is in good played-with condition. Some might have minor stains or dirt; I haven't attempted to clean them. If you need to know whether a specific piece is stained/dirty, just let me know. Some of the skirts have had the attached "underwear" removed. A few things had stray threads, but nothing should need repairing or anything.

I also have a few pieces that WILL need a bit of fixing:

Fixer-uppers

If you need to know exactly what needs repair on any of the fixer-upper clothes, just ask. ^_^

If anyone's looking to boost their Monster High girl's wardrobe, these clothes will fit them. Not perfectly, but pretty well.  I tried every piece listed on my Cleo doll, and here are the things I noted about the fit:

  • The dresses and skirts come up a bit skimpy on Cleo. A dress that would be mid-thigh length on a Bratz is just slightly past the hips on a MH.
  • The pants tended to be a bit low on Cleo's hips and probably wouldn't stay on well during play. They would display very nicely, though
  • The full-length pants are the perfect length for MH, or very close; they all came to right around Cleo's ankles.
  • Some of the shirts also tend to come up a bit short on MH because of the taller torso. Where they'd come to a Bratz' waist, they come to just past a MH's bust.
  • A few of the shirts fit a bit loose in the bust area.
If anyone would like to see pictures of a certain piece on Cleo to see how it would fit a MH doll, just let me know; I'll get pictures ASAP.

Speaking of Monster High, I also have what I think are Clawdeen's shirt and jacket. The jacket looks perfect, but I think the shirt has had straps or ties cut off the neck.

Also, if anyone's interested, I do have some Bratz Boys clothes and several pairs of Bratz shoes. Pictures can be sent on request, I just haven't uploaded them yet.

I'm asking $2 a piece (plus shipping) for the non-fixer-upper pieces; I can negotiate a little, especially if you're buying multiple pieces. The fix-em-up ones are make-an-offer. I would prefer to sell rather than trade; there's not really much I'm looking for at the moment. And besides, I need to de-clutter my room, not add more stuff to the mess. XD

Shipping for the US will be $2.50 for any number of pieces (price covers the shipping and a padded envelope to mail in). If you're only interested in one piece, I might be able to just send it in a regular envelope depending on what it is.

I am happy to ship internationally, just PM me for shipping quotes.

Off Topic / Any Lion King collectors out there? Need a PC on something.
« on: February 13, 2012, 12:08:17 PM »
I hope this is allowed in this section; I wasn't sure where it might go.

Anyway, I was wondering if there were any Lion King collectors here that could advise me. I found a 1994 Lion King action figure gift set at Salvation Army, and I was wondering if it might be worth anything.

The figures are adult Simba, Timon, Pumbaa, and Rafiki. The set is "new"; I put new in quotations because I'm not 100% sure they're not played with. The outer box has been opened, but the figures are all still in the plastic holder thing. I didn't actually take them out and check them thoroughly for signs of being used, but I didn't see anything at a glance that would indicate they were played with. The box is a little worse for wear, but still intact.

I can post a picture if necessary, I just haven't gotten one taken yet.

Trader & Shipping Support / Feedback Question
« on: February 08, 2012, 02:52:48 PM »
I wasn't sure if this went here or in Site Support, but I have a quick question regarding the feedback system.

Is there a way to see who I've left feedback for? I cant remember if I've left it yet for some of the people I've sold to, and I don't want to leave a duplicate feedback if I've already submitted one.

Customs / Anyone ever done a custom using fabric-winged Starcatcher?
« on: February 01, 2012, 04:30:18 PM »
Has anyone ever done a custom using a fabric-winged Starcatcher as bait? I need some advice on how to re-attach her head. Mine got slightly mutilated when I took the head off, I had to cut out the neck plug thing.

Pony Corral / Rust stains.... But no rust?
« on: January 19, 2012, 10:51:12 AM »
I'm working on cleaning my newest pony purchases, and I've come across a bit of an... odd issue.

One of the ponies has what look like rust stains in her mane. But when I popped her head off, she's sparkly-clean inside, NO signs of rust whatsoever. I've heard the glue inside her head can yellow and stain the hair, but this staining is definitely orange rather than yellow.

I believe the pony's hair was originally pink; would that give yellowed-glue stains an orange tint?

Is there a way to de-orangify her hair?

Pony Corral / Cleaning Questions?
« on: January 17, 2012, 03:41:14 PM »
I got a lot of G1 ponies that I'd bought on ebay today, and I need some advice on cleaning them.

One has a "fading" symbol; it gets lighter when you warm it and has a hidden symbol underneath. Anyway, her symbol's peeling off a bit on the edges, and it gets especially peel-y wen it's wet. She's got some marks that I want to try and get off, but I don't want to damage her symbol any more than it already is. Should I just leave her be, or go ahead and clean her but be careful of the symbol?

I see signs of rust on most of their tails. Should I pull their heads off and check inside, even if they're well-attached?

How do you clean the rust on the inside if they have it? What about other gunk?

Should I replace the tail washers?

A bunch of them have ground-in dirt. What's the best way to get that off?

Is there anything I can soak them in to take away the dirt that won't damage their paint or hair?

One has pink highlighter marks. Is there any way to remove or fade them without sunfading? Being the middle of winter, strong sunlight's a bit rare. XD

I suspect a few might have a touch of mold. What's a good way to clean it off?

A few have frizzy hair. Any tips on that? I have a straightener, but I'm a bit afraid to use it on them; don't wanna make the frizz worse.

Umm... I think that's everything! Any advice would be great!

Pony Corral / US Blind Bag Release Index- Where have they been found?
« on: January 16, 2012, 06:59:51 PM »
Seeing as just about everybody's looking for the Blind Bag ponies now that they've hit the US, I thought maybe we could set up an index of where they've been released. That way people looking for them will have a better idea of how close to them they were found.

Some basic details:
  • They're mainly popping up in Walmart, but recently several people have reported finding them at Toys R Us, and I believe there's been at least one report of them showing up in Target as well.
  • They are (generally) shelved with the other My Little Pony toys. Some people have reported finding them outside the pony section, so it might pay to check all over Toys if you can't find them in the designated MLP section.
  • If they're nowhere in Toys, try the Trading Cards section (generally at the front of the store). There haven't been any reports of them being found there yet, but as a lot of stores do have other blind-bag type toys there, they may have stocked them there.
  • They are priced at $1.98 each.
  • Only the first wave has been found so far.
  • The numbering system used to identify the original release still applies to the US-released ones. The number ID list can be found here: Blind Bag Cheatsheet
  • If anyone wants to call ahead and see if their store has them, to avoid wild goose chases, the UPC code is (according to this thread) 6 53569 63247 4. I believe all you need to do is call your store and give them that number.
Here's where they've been spotted so far. If anyone knows of a specific store they've been found in, I'll add that information in a spoiler tab under the state.:
