Pony Corral / Is it possible to rehair Glamour Glow Rarity?
« on: October 17, 2016, 07:01:30 PM »
Hi guys!
Recently I bought a Glamour Glow Rarity from someone on FB, fully aware of the issues with the hair but I figured I might be able to fix said issues.

But before I do.. Has anyone attempted to even rehair her and keep her in working order?
Because this is what I have to work with (Warning picture is huge because I haven't changed the settings on new phone)

Arts & Crafts Corral / Latest Pony Art
« on: October 12, 2016, 09:18:07 PM »
Well I guess I'm going to debunk my test and cave in.
So I completed this little piece on Sunday and other than a few things I'm happy with it.
The color scheme is based off a pony I own on Pony Island :)

Pony Corral / GoH NM: First Impression
« on: August 05, 2016, 02:33:22 PM »
Hey all I thought since I haven't really seen very much in the way of photos for GoH figures (as far as what people think about them) I decided to do one since I bought Nightmare Moon a few days ago. Please note that all my images for this are on DA Sta.sh due to Photobucket being a pain in the pony tail.

Click on the spoilers for images

So first off on packaging. It's Ok, NM's box was all bent up compared to the two Celestia that was on shelf as well, this was the only NM there.
It gives you a nice view of the pony and if the box was not so bent up then you could keep her in there and just shine a light through the top and display her that way. The sides of the box is just another Graphic of her in-show are and the front view of the figure. The backdrop in the package is the Castle of the Two Sisters, which if they had done the packaging differently that could be saved for other photo backdrops for other figures.

Now for the figure itself!
NM stands at about 8" tall, which includes her wispy hair. She does stand on her own due to having support from her tail. Certain points of her hooves do not make 100% contact with the ground.

Her wings are the only thing pose-able on her. Both wings are set on a ball joint that allows them to pivot to a certain point. I only took one shot of the wings moved because that is all that I needed

I do love her dynamic pose and if I wanted to dish out another $20 I'm sure she could be customed to have the legs move at least a little bit given how they look to be attached to her. However, as with every Hasbro toy figure there are some problems that may vary between the figures.. NM is no exception to the rule.

Aside from box damage (which I know was due to the shipping to the store), my NM has a few other notable things going on with her.
First of all was her paint job. On the side I could see I did note there was paint chipped/blotted on her helmet, there is also paint missing along the edge of her chest piece on the DS. On her NDS there were more small paint errors on her helmet and collar. I also noted that the edges of her ear chipped and her horn towards the front doesn't seem to be fully set (no photo of this because I spotted it after the photo shoot). Her shoes seem to be trying to separate from her rear hooves though that could have been due to heat in the car.

As far as how she compares in size to other ponies. Since she is rearing she is taller than the normal Brushable Nightmare Moon.

As far as ratings go I give the packaging an 8/10 because it's still kind of blah, the figure itself a 9/10 only because she looks like she should have other points of articulation and does not, the paint job and other QC a 6/10 due to having similar issues with the rest of the MLP lines and Funkos for her price.

Over all she is a 7/10, other than a few factory issues she is still a great figure for her price.

The Dollhouse / What Doll Clothing would fit the Pinkie Cooper Dolls
« on: June 16, 2016, 07:38:36 PM »
Hello guys. So I'm just kind of fooling around with finding clothing for one of my Pinkie Cooper dolls (Pepper) and so far I have only found one thing that fits her.. the Pajama set for the La De Da dolls.. Since La De Da isn't sold in the few stores in my area I'm at a lose due to Barbie clothing doesn't fit these dolls..

Has anyone found another doll line clothing that has packs that would fit Pinkie Cooper and her friends?

Pony Corral / Worth keeping G4 MIB?
« on: April 22, 2016, 05:23:45 AM »
Hey guys, so I have a bunch of G4s from wave 1 to the current wave as far as singles and most of the are still in their packaging because I at the time I was a bit meh about taking them out (more or less lazy). And most of them are hiding in my closet now because there is quite a few of them still in packaging..

So now I'm wondering if it's even worth keeping them in their packages.. I still have ponies from at least wave 3 in their packages, but I'm not thinking about selling any time soon.. and right now my family doesn't want me to put holes in the walls so I cannot hang them on the wall either. A side note the only Main 6 I have still MIB is the ones that were released with pets.. I don't know if they were actually part of wave 1, 2, or 3 but I know they were those earlier waves.

So what do you guys think? Keep in packaging or give in an take them all out?

I was looking in one of the FB groups and saw someone post a photo of theirs! I'm wondering if anyone else got one and their thoughts on it! Looks too me they got her right and she is not an abomination like Firefly :)

Pony Corral / Play Fair
« on: February 07, 2016, 06:37:57 AM »
While this isn't specifically a pony fair, it runs at the same time as Toy Fair.

I just finished watching a video from My Froggy Stuff on YouTube and they got a few preview items from Play Fair and I believe they will be getting some video stuff done to show off what will be there.

Their preview stuff didn't have much in the way of dolls (which is what their videos are mostly on), however Mattel and Hasbro are both supposed to have toys there so we may get to see something from the two most currently talked about toy companies (hopefully it's ponies and dolls they have). Moose Toys also seems to be on the list so Shopkins anyone XD

Here is the link to the video

I do hope we see something pony wise from Hasbro..

Pony Corral / How HTF is Moon Jumper and Sky Dancer
« on: January 29, 2016, 09:11:59 PM »
Ok.. this is a serious question here... I have collected approx. 12 Windy/Summer Winged ponies for Bait/Restore projects.. Among them is Sky Dancer and Moon Jumper..

I have two of Moon Jumper in the set.. one who has chew marks and pin holes, hair cute, paint damage, and no wings.. the second Moon Jumper has intact wings, good paint, hair cuts, and is just nice over all but needs a bath.. I'm more worried about the one with holes than the other because she would require paint matching, which with her color I doubt I can match..

As for Sky Dancer.. I have 3 of those. 1 Hong Kong and 2 China. The Hong Kong girl has her wings with some damage, her hair doesn't look cut but she has regrind and seems to have one spot of pony cancer... The 2 China girls.. well I might be able to restore at least one of them... One is missing her wings and I though she was missing her back stopper (I actually found it inside her) and the stopper hole is damaged, cut hair, paint scuff on one eye, writing on the bottom of one of her feet, symbols look good, and some sort of white scuffing on her feet, oh and needs a bath... China girl #2 has her wings (although damaged), hair cut, symbol damage, but over all body condition looks good.. she is also lighter than the other China girl but darker than the Hong Kong girl..

So I have a dilemma on my hands... I need to know how hard to find are these two and if people are going to rage at me if I custom the ones I don't restore... I know in the end the ultimate choice is mine, but still it's nagging at me that is is possible that some will send me to the stake to burn (so to say)

Customs / x-posted How do you attach fairy wings on dolls?
« on: January 20, 2016, 05:55:23 PM »
x-posted from dollhouse

I've seen so many different ways of doing this but I'm curious of what people feel the best method is (especially for MH dolls) and still have the ability to dress the dolls.. Also what is the preferred materials used? I don't have Fantasy film but I do have access to things such as transparency sheets and a 3D printer if I go that route..

I would ask on the MH Arena but I really don't want to make another log-in for a site that I will rarely go to.

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Does anyone remember this Thingmaker?
« on: January 11, 2016, 10:32:11 AM »
Hey everyone. This has been wracking my brain all morning and I know I had found the answer a while back on this..
However, I cannot access Ghost of the Doll Forums to look and Google search is failing me... so I'm hoping someone here would know

Back sometime in the 80's or 90's (since i was born in '87 I remember the set from the early to mid-90's) there was a maker toy similar to Creepy Crawlers, only it was more geared towards girls had I remember it had Ponies or Horses you could make.. I'm pretty sure it had dolls too but i was more interested in the horses :P

After doing a Google search I thought it was under the line Thingmaker (which is what Creepy Crawlers was under in the 60's and 70's) by Mattel but I cannot find that specific set that has the Ponies/Horses.

For more detail, I remember the pony mold was on one plate and you could fold it in half so it could stand on all 4 feet (I don't remember what was used to hold it together though so it could stay like that). It uses a similar rubbery goop that Creepy Crawlers used and I remember actually using my brother's unit for this, which makes me not think it was an add-on pack.

Any ideas?
