Pony Corral / Red vs Pink Cherries
« on: January 14, 2021, 09:10:24 PM »
What's the reason for Cherries jubilee sometimes having pink cherries and sometimes having red cherries?

I think I saw someone else bring this up but it was on a Facebook group and it was so many months ago, there's no way to find it. And I just can't remember if it was because one was a So Soft that was deflocked, or what.

All are Hong Kong, no other differences.

Wanted! / Hair... Lots and lots of hair!!
« on: December 07, 2020, 08:19:44 PM »
So like the title says, I need hair. Lots and lots of hair!

Feel free to recommend companies that actually sell hair, but I would much rather buy privately if possible. Reason being I haven't found any companies willing to offer a discount on buying large amounts unless it's in the $500+ range (some refused to do deals no matter what amount) but I was looking to stay around $150 to $200

YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE $200 WORTH

I'm definitely willing to buy smaller lots of hair if the price is right. However because I have to add in the cost of shipping as a part of the total for the hair, I'm not looking to buy just one or two sets of hair unless you're trying to give them away for free and I just pay shipping haha

Example:
$2 for hair + $3 for shipping = the hair is actually $5

The more the better!
I'm looking for all colors (for customs + rehairs)

I found someone in my state and it would cost $3.49 for the hair and I wouldn't have to pay for shipping but would of course have to pay for the gas because I love about 40 minutes one way from them. That said, the total would have to be more worth it than paying $3.49 plus gas. Figured I should say that right away because I don't want to waste anyone's time!

Thank you

Pony Corral / UK vs US family
« on: December 07, 2020, 08:02:17 PM »
I know there are differences in the babies but are there any noticeable differences in the moms and dads? I'll be selling a mommy and daddy Apple Delight soon and want to make sure there isn't any differences I should be looking out for before selling them. I also sell vintage and new toys as a second job so I get new ponies in every week and I'm trying to focus on my inventory of the lesser common ponies, including the families, so I don't know if I should be paying special attention to the parents.

Thanks in advance!

Pony Corral / All of the G1 My Little Pony Hallmark ornaments
« on: December 05, 2020, 07:04:56 PM »
Does anyone have a complete list of each of the Hallmark ornaments for the G1 my little pony?

I know of...

Cotton Candy (2014)
Moondancer (2017)
Firefly (2018)
Seashell (2019)
Applejack (2020)

I've seen one picture of bow tie in the collector's pose position, but there really wasn't any information with it so I couldn't tell if it was real or not.

Did they do ponies for 2015 and 2016?
And if so, who were they?

PS: I want one of each ;)

Pony Corral / Is this a real G1 plush?
« on: November 02, 2020, 12:28:29 PM »
Still haven't figured out how to post pictures on here so if anyone wants to help me with that too, please do so! And yes, I have tried putting the URL between the [ img ] code. I also forgot the website someone recommended where I can upload pictures and get a URL for free since that's no longer an option with photobucket or tinypic.

Anyways...

click the link and it will take you to my Tumblr where I posted a picture and also some information

Pony Corral / Size of paradise estate for shipping
« on: October 24, 2020, 03:51:52 PM »
I am planning on having someone ship me Paradise estate but I need to know what would be the smallest box I could get it into. Length depth and height please. I'm not looking for the size fully set up but what size it could be broken down into for shipping.

Pony Corral / Price check: baby lemon drop, baby bow tie & others
« on: October 20, 2020, 04:43:10 PM »
Before I confirm a purchase with someone I need to verify prices. I did not realize that my offers were being written and sent in a foreign currency. Typically it shows me what I'm offering in USD (my currency) and then it converts it on their end, but for whatever reason it didn't do it this time. So all of my offers were quite a bit more than what I was thinking I was actually offering. I hate to back out but this was a glitch on the site because I have never had it show me another country's currency before. I feel that the prices are still pretty good but I just want to be 100% sure before I spend so much money and then find out I not only didn't get a good deal, but on top of that I spent more than I should have.

All ponies are in good and display worthy condition. No major flaws to note. Doesn't even look like there are any minor flaws to worry about either. A couple of them are still in their sealed bags.

G1 mermaid pony, pink
G1 baby Lemon Drop
G1 baby Bow Tie
G1 baby Blue Ribbon
G1 sweetheart sister Goldilocks
G1 mail order exclusive, Li'l Tot in sealed bag
G1 baby Cuddles in sealed bag

I am NOT looking for the lowest and highest they have sold. I need to know what is a fair price for them. I don't mind if you give me a set number or if you give me a price range.

Also please include TWO DIFFERENT PRICES if possible:
one price stating what they would be worth by themselves if bought individually, and also a second price of what would be a fair price if I were buying them altogether as a lot

Even if you are not sure on a price for all of them, even just one or some of them would be appreciated!

Thank you in advance

Wanted! / ISO lots + so softs to deflock + hair!!
« on: September 25, 2020, 01:54:22 PM »
*** US ONLY ***

UPDATE - I NEED HAIR!! And I mean quite a bit of hair. Please DON'T contact me with enough for just 2-3 ponies. Looking for at least enough for 10 ponies, but would prefer A LOT more than that. Even willing to buy actual G1 tails if you have multiple.

I'm interested in purchasing lots/bundles
This will be most weeks

Very few requirements, but read all of them please!!!

THIS WEEK'S LIMIT --- not sure yet
STILL LOOKING --- NO!

I can spend A LITTLE over my limit, but remember I have to already spend extra on shipping, so I usually won't pay much over the limit. Will consider spending less if the price is worth it for the quantity. If it says "still looking - no", that means I've hit my limit for this week. BUT you can contact me if willing to hold for the following week. ONLY contact if you'll hold.

I COLLECT BUT ALSO RESTORE & RESELL
I'll keep one of each that I don't have + swap out any that are better condition. The rest will be restored and resold.
That said, I DON'T PAY INDIVIDUAL PRICING
I need to be able to make whatever I spent on the pony + profit
*** so only looking for people selling lots at lot prices ***

Unfortunately the people I usually go through can't keep up with how frequently I buy (usually weekly). I'm perfectly happy with a one time purchase, but would love to find someone to purchase from multiple times!

ABSOLUTE NO WAYS
- holes
- missing horn, ear, etc. (basically: no holes)
- serious pindot mold
- serious mold in general
- so soft ponies that are so stained they can only be customized (not worth the time to deflock just to customize it after)

HAIRCUTS ARE OKAY!
I'm also okay with bait ponies that could only be used for customizing if they're just $1 or $2 each

LOOKING FOR OKAY+ CONDITION
Most will be restored and resold
So I'm NOT interested in ONLY bait ponies
Need to have some in good quality condition

SO SOFTS NEEDING TO BE DEFLOCKED...
I'm gonna sound crazy, but I actually enjoy deflocking! So I would love to have more ponies to deflock. Can NOT have serious body stains though. As stated above, it's not worth the time or the products/cost to deflock a pony just to customize it. But if only issue is the flocking and MINOR issues, that's fine!

PONIES I WON'T PAY MUCH FOR
* because I already have so many, and they just don't sell well. When they do sell, it isn't for much
- Baby Cuddles
- Baby Tiddly Winks
- BBE Baby Lofty
- Sundance
- Bow Tie
- Glory (unless excellent condition)
- Moondancer (unless excellent condition)
- Majesty (unless excellent condition)

*** PICTURES ARE A MUST. Must be able to send photos of the ponies on each side + explain any major flaws. I DON'T need individual pictures. Group photos are fine!

Please comment or send me a message with ALL of the following:

--- a list of the ponies available
--- asking price IF under or close to this week's limit (see top of post for this week's limit)
--- If you have so many that it's quite a bit over this week's limit, just send a list and I can pick some out but ALSO include the price if I bought everyone. I might save this week's money and buy next week + it gives me an idea of what you want per pony
--- where I can go for photos, or a phone number to text to receive the photos is fine

Questions? Just ask!

*** US ONLY ***
Due to wanting decent sized amounts, shipping would easily be over $50, so unless you are selling good+ quality ponies for $1 or $2 each, it wouldn't be worth it at this time. I will be looking for ponies in Europe in a few months, which will be picked up in person. I'll edit this when that time is closer.

Pony Corral / How to upload a picture
« on: September 14, 2020, 08:11:53 PM »
I know someone told me once, but  I can't find the thread. I know the code ([ img ] urlhere [/ img ]), I'm just wondering what site allows free uploads so I'm able to get a url.

Photobucket now charges and tinypic is gone  :pout:

Pony Corral / Deflocked prices?
« on: September 14, 2020, 06:02:48 PM »
so I'm deflocking several ponies, and 3 will be for sale. I noticed on Mercari, prices are quite "high" for them. And they've all sold. However i couldn't find a deflocked Best Wishes anywhere (for sale).

So....

What do you think is a fair price for:
- deflocked Best Wishes
- deflocked Shady

Best Wishes are excellent condition. No flaws. Shady has a slight mane cut. Excellent otherwise.

Thank you

Pony Corral / Pricing complete sets...
« on: September 13, 2020, 05:10:57 PM »
how much would you charge for a full set of rainbow ponies (1st set)?

Typically I would give a discount for multiple, but since it's a complete set I'm not sure if I should give a typical discount. Or do I charge more for complete sets?

I'm also about to have a couple of other complete sets for sale, so it be nice to know the general rule of thumb here.

someone on mercari brought it up. Why didn't I think about it before!? So now I have my very own Instagram for my ponies  check out my collection on IG @ hennessy_ponies

I'll be checking out all new followers so I can follow back all of the fellow MLP instas out there!

Question!! Do you prefer pictures with:
- no background: pony only
- minimal background
- fully decorated background

When you see a picture, what draws you in best? I love decorated backgrounds, but I dont wann distract from the main point. So let me know what you think!

Pony Corral / Who hates people calling common ponies "rare" FOR SALES?
« on: August 25, 2020, 06:09:46 PM »
There's a girl on a website who had about 8 ponies listed. All were common except one was sea pony Seawinkle in her shell. Which I guess can be considered not common. Definitely wouldn't say rare though. After seeing Melody listed as a "rare glitter pony" for.... get ready.... $90 PLUS $8.50 shipping... then Tex, with no hat, bandana or comb, as a "rare cactus pony" (haha, cactus pony) for $125 + $8.50 shipping, I had to say something.

I VERY politely explained I was messaging to help with sales. Said any questions, just ask. And included most of her ponies are extremely common. Then listed the average price she SHOULD be charging for each of her ponies.

I was super nice about it. Was literally trying to help. Wasn't going to buy any and even told her I wasn't interested in purchasing, just trying to help, so she didn't think it was a ploy. Also told her two different sites to price check.

No response. Forgot about it.

Two days later and it's today. What do I see?

A "rare" Twice As Fancy Milkyway (which i think we all know is most definitely NOT a rare pony) for sale... are you ready for the price?
................. $176

I am sooooo sick of people lying for sales. It's gross. It makes you a crap person because you could be scamming some poor girl who's just getting started, and scam her out of every penny she's raised. All for one pony who's got a 10x inflated price. Yes, the buyer should do research, but still. I guess I just dont appreciate scamming people. Even if the buyer should be smarter. *shrug*

I honestly might flag all of her posts as scams. They say inflating prices isn't allowed. Nor is claiming an item to be of higher value due to quantity (so you cant say a commom item is rare... *clears throat*). Kinda feel rude flagging them, but I'm also sick of these a-holes screwing people over. Not cool! I sell on Mercari & ALWAYS price check. I try to do at least $1 less but if already low i will match the lowest price I see. Only time I ask more is if (A) mine is better quality, or (B) the person selling isn't a collector and is selling dirt cheap.

Anyways.... i just wanted to rant haha

How do you feel seeing people lie about a pony's value or rarity just for sales? Does it bother you? or could you care less if they're screwing people over?

Pony Corral / Did you know most of us have been saying it wrong?
« on: August 23, 2020, 09:46:35 AM »
So today I learned "Merry Treats" is actually "Merry Treat" - singular. I have never "heard" (read) anyone call her Merry Treat before, and so I've always just assumed it was "Treats", plural.

Although... Merry Treats sounds better *shrug*
