When painting, do you ladies use primer when you're doing cutie marks (TM)? Does it help control streakiness? If you use it, is there one you like?

What is going on with the new heads? They are fatter, and they have lines running from the ears to the forehead. They're clearly meant to look the same (not a new pose). So what is the change?
I know you have all noticed this too. Between my Sunset Shimmer and my Chrysalis pack, all the normal-sized ponies have these new, cheap-looking heads. Cadence got a new molded head too!
Does anyone have any ideas why they made this change? The new heads look more like fakie heads than Hasbro heads. And the plastic they are made out of looks cheaper too. It's making the newer ponies hard-to-love. . .

I actually did this early in the summer, but didn't have time to post. He has My Little Custom pink UV colorchange polypropylene hair. I used color-change because I got some as a present, and I didn't want to buy pink hair. Also, this way it's not pink all the time--though the body color reflects off the white hair to make it look light pink when out of the sun. I love the mask on the Cadence head--looks so luchador! I sealed the paint with Modge Podge Matte. . . it said it couldn't come off after dry, and that it would dry in 20 minutes. However, when I was rinsing the hair to make it sit down, the finish started loosening up and coming off! Was this because the Modge Podge was so old? Any suggestions for a different sealer? What it says in the title! Post your pics of this set! I just got this set a week ago. The quality is definitely down, but I'm still excited to have new ponies--especially villains! So, everyone show off this set! I especially want to see how people are styling their hair! Has anyone cut Bubbles' hair to make it show-accurate? I'm thinking of doing this. I'm also interested to hear what quality issues people found. I had to look through 5 sets to find one I was satisfied with. Half of the Shining Armors didn't have painted hooves, a few ponies had bent legs. One Bubbles had hair from a rooting accident sticking out from under her wingpit, giving her under-wing hair. And ALL of the Chrysalises had the head turned in a way that permanently bent the wing back a little bit. Still happy, but good grief! Here is my set! After seeing the more recent preview and some of the spoiler images over in the FIM forum, I am starting to look forward to Equestria Girls. Also, my niece is excited, so I'm going to watch it with her (in August  ). As for the dolls, I'm not really a doll collector (outside of ponies, He-man, and transformers). So I wasn't really planning on getting any. But it occurred to me, if they were going to be on scale with ponies (the playful ponies that I actually collect), it might be cool to pick up one or some. Unfortunately, I believe I saw it reported that they will be more on scale with Barbie. I gotta admit, that makes me way less interested. So I wondered what the rest of you think. Well? What'd'ya think?

I'm thinking of dying pony hair for a pony using Shining Armor's base. Can anyone tell me about dyed hair bleeding into the vinyl? Is soaking it in vinegar enough to seal the color? I don't want to stain the body.

I got alicorn Twilight, Sunset Shimmer, and Lily Blossom from a seller in China. I got Cherry Pie from Family Dollar after I finished a particularly terrible final. Funny--my Lily Blossom has kinda wonkie eyes! She'll have a new sister in August! visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I have feelings about earth ponies, and these feelings fall into two categories: disgust and pity. Let's focus on the latter. How would you feel if you were a earth pony? I would probably cry. Then I would poop, wherever I happened to be--after all, let's be realistic; I am a horse, and they do that.

Hey guys! Hasbro asked me to find out what you think about the new Twilight (and by Hasbro I mean the little boy who lives in my mouth--Mrs. Torrance).
Anyway, I just ordered her last night to distract me from the pain of finals. She wasn't a must have, but getting her for a good price along with Sunset Shimmer, I figured I might as well. So, what about everyone else? Is there much interest in upgrading, or even just add to the ranks of your alicorns?

Here are some customs I did. G3 RR I rehaired years ago, but didn't paint until just recently. I HATE painting symbols. Maybe my materials are just too cheap. They absolutely won't make fine lines. Anyway, they're good enough just for me. As to the UV color change custom, I'm thinking of naming her Meraxes--I was reaching for something old and kinda ugly/pretty. Hey, I just removed Cadences wings, and there was so much glue I didn't get them out cleanly. Does anyone have some good pics of a clean removal? I'd like a better idea of the shape of the base, so I don't have so much trouble next time.
