(link cause huge image file lol)

http://shilot.deviantart.com/art/Toy-Collection-419900994

...part of it, anyways. The more expensive stuff like the pullips, my larger Sonic and Disney figures, etc are in the living room. I'll get pics of that later once I get the living room fixed up and cleaned lol. ...oh, and there's a lot of ponies hiding in my art room so... yah. ^^; Got this setup all finished today, the good thing I'm not a carpenter cause I suck at building shelves. XD

My Pinkie Pie herd takes up an entire shelf on it's own. XD

Pony Corral / So, uh, Octavia has taken over my pony game. o.o
« on: August 14, 2013, 02:40:48 PM »
I glitched the game... now I have over a dozen Octavia's running around! They're not the shifter ponies, they're actually Octavia's! I can upgrade their starts and everything. I'm not quite sure how I pulled this one off, but I can keep adding more and more of her if I want. Then they all run around the game and play with the other ponies as normal. It's quite a sight! It's hard to get them all in a cluster though!

Off Topic / Hey Canadian ponies, new credit card scam...
« on: July 10, 2013, 07:55:39 PM »
Now this could be not just Canada, but here's the latest scam the RCMP are warning about. Just thought I'd pass it along!

The Latest Credit Card Scam

credit cardThis is a heads up for everyone regarding the latest in credit card fraud, the Card Info Scam. This one is pretty slick because they provide you with all of the information except the one piece they want from you, the security number on the back of your card. By understanding how this credit card scam works you will be better prepared to protect yourself.

The scam works like this – Person calling says, "This is (name) and I’m calling from the Security and Fraud Department at (Credit Card Company). My Badge number is (number). Your card has been flagged for an unusual purchase pattern and I’m calling to verify. This would be on your Credit Card which was issued by (name of Bank). Did you purchase an (item and dollar amount) from (location)?" When you say no the caller continues with, "Then we will be issuing a credit to your account. This is a company we have been watching and the charges are just under the $500 purchase pattern that flags most cards. Before your next statement the credit will be sent to (gives your address). Is this correct?" After you say yes the caller continues, "I will be starting a Fraud Investigation. If you have questions, you should call the 1-800 number listed on the back of your card and ask for Security. You will need to refer to this Control Number (the caller gives you a number). Do you need me to read it again?"
Here is the important part … how the scam works.

The caller then says, "I need to verify that you are in possession of your card. Turn your card over and look for some numbers. There are seven numbers. The first four are part of your card number. The last three are the Security Numbers that verify you are the possessor of the card. These are the numbers you sometimes use to make Internet purchases to prove you have the card. Read these numbers to me please." After you have told the caller the three numbers, they will say, "That is correct. I just needed to verify that the card has not been lost or stolen, and that you still have your card. Do you have any other questions?" After you say no the caller thanks you and hangs up.

"You actually say very little. What the scammer wants is the three digit Security number on the back of the credit card. With this number they can make purchases. Don’t give it to them. Instead, tell them you are going to call the credit card company yourself for verification of the conversation. Credit cards companies will never ask for information because they already have that information since they issued the card to you in the first place. By the time you get your statement you will see charges for purchases you did not make and by then it is too late or more difficult to file a fraud report with the Credit Card Company," says Cst Angela Rabut, community policing Terrace RCMP.

You probably ought to get to bed, Tilas
...just realized the top of the forum changes throughout the day.  I've been here HOW LONG and I JUST noticed that? I'm attentive. :P

It's right though, I probably should go to bed... but I've been unable to sleep for nearly two weeks now. These 1-3 hour nights is starting to really wear on me. X.x Last night mom gave me half a sleeping pill and I went to bed early. Got 5 hours of sleep.  Oi. My NORMAL sleep cycle is 8 solid hours. That hasn't happened in weeks. It's getting so bad my left eyelid has been twitching out for over a week now at random, and it's so severe at times it closes my eye entirely. That's annoying.

I need sleep so badly... but the heat, bugs, heat... stress... all of it is getting to me. I have a huge fan in my room to cool me down but it's loud that once it wakes me up it usually keeps me up. But turn it off and I overheat and the mosquitoes get me. Ugh. I have the other half of the sleeping pill which I just took, so I hope it'll help tonight... might need to go see the doc about this, it's getting ridiculous...

Off Topic / Oh boy thunder!
« on: June 25, 2013, 03:24:54 PM »
After a week of blazing heat, with a mighty crack of thunder so loud it rattled the office walls and nearly scared me outa my chair, it's pouring rain outside! My poor dogs, I sure hope my dad brought them in, they're gonna be SO scared.  At least we finally have rain though... we need it. Alberta is getting flooded but the Yukon is on fire. 4 new fires in my district in the last 24 hours (thankfully the closest is 200KM away), and we are marked as extreme fire danger.

Love the weather, don't you? Which extreme are you getting right now? Fire? Flood? Snow? XD

The Dollhouse / Wanted: Vanellope Doll
« on: June 25, 2013, 02:19:04 PM »
I really love Wreck it Ralph and Vanellope is my favorite character, but I can't find her doll for a reasonable price! Amazon wants a fortune for her, and most other places won't ship to Canada. >.>  I've heard you once could find this doll in a Disney Store, but I have none in this part of Canada.

So I was wondering if anyone could maybe pick her up for me if they happen to come by one? No problem paying for it or maybe a trade of some kind. I don't have many ponies left (all G3/G4 and I can dig out what I have), but I do make buttons and sew, so maybe we could do some sorta sale/trade for an item I make? PM if you can help, thanks!

This has been going on for a few weeks now, and it's so cute to watch! Just outside of Whitehorse there's an eagle's next with 3 baby eagles in it, and they've been filming since the eggs were laid. Check out the little clumsy babies!

So, look what my brother found for me yesterday! :D It was at the recycling depot and was heading for the e-waste scrap heap, when he saw it and asked if we could take it off their hands. They said sure cause it would only cost them money to ship it out. So we took it home to the shop! It was dropped there by a owner of a bar that's been closed for about a decade. No water damage that we can tell, and while the case is a bit rough, it's nothing that can't be patched. If we can't get it fully functional I want to retrofit it into a MAME unit. Either way, it'll be a wicked project!

Back of the beast. The Primary power button is on the button left, we taped it as it's made to not stay on if the back panel is open and we need to be able to fiddle with it.

This is the game's motherboard. Classic. I found the original manual online (amazing what you can find on the internet) so I was able to figure out the play settings. Now to tinker!

Power box and everything that can electrocute you. The manual actually says to perform a "Smoke Test", meaning, WATCH FOR SMOKE!

Power switch box I'm guessing? To tell it how much power to send where?

Side panels, some damage but but nothing that can't be repaired with some putty, sanding, and paint

Secondary power button, for some reason this will not stay on, on it's own so we'll be taping that too lol.

This is I am assuming the coin counter, which, if my calculations are correct, means this beast has had $31,254 pumped through it in it's lifetime. DAMN!

And, Finally, I've been tinkering with it, gave it a quick cleaning (need to actually take the time to wash it) and for a brief moment... it had life! The screen booted up, it went past the "WINNERS DON'T USE DRUGS!" screen ( rofl ) and made it to the main screen. I put in some coins and it did accept them to allow 2 player mode... but it didn't register the controls and when I wiggled the joystick case and it all went dark. So, that tells me there's loose connections everywhere. I'll need to take some time and carefully check over everything.  But look! Proof that for a moment, it lived!

EDIT: Oh hey, post 5000!

Pony Corral / 3 Complete Big Brothers...
« on: May 07, 2013, 02:05:27 PM »
I was visiting a friend and she took me to her aunts place. Her aunt had a bunch of G1 ponies that she had let her 2 year old granddaughter play with. Out of curiosity my friend showed them to me. Mostly basics, but in the collection were 3 Big Brothers.

Salty, Steamer, and Barnacle.

I saw them and I really liked them. I mean they were MINT. No scuffs, no marks, hair was perfectly vibrant. Then the gramma mentioned she "had a bag of stuff for the ponies". I asked to look, and what do I find?

Each brother was 100% complete. Bandana, Brush, Hat, like they just came out of the package! The letters on the hat were PERFECT! I got super excited, and I told the mom of the granddaughter what she had, what that meant to collectors like myself, and I made an offer to buy them. $100 cash, for the lot, which I thought would be fair (maybe a little too much, but I WANTED them for my collection...).

...she didn't bite. She decided she wanted to keep them for her daughter to play with, and she "didn't really get why they meant anything to me". Outwardly, I understood and thanked them for just letting me see and hold them, but deep down, I cringed, big time. I tried to buy just the accessories since her 2 year old is too young to play with them but nope. I offered to spend that $100 on NEW ponies and MAKE the kid a collection. Nope.

I know, I KNOW it's nice that she wanted to keep her toys for her own daughter to play with, I know that's sweet and they're hers to do with what she pleased, I know it could be a family thing or whatever but.... as a collector... eeeerrrrrgggggghhhh!  The thought of seeing that perfect set of 3 getting thrashed by a toddler... :yikes:

Gah. Part of me was slapping myself for even telling the mom/aunt what the ponies were worth to collectors. I mean, I might have been able to scoop them if they thought they were just toys, but that wasn't right to me, I had to be honest. I had to be fair.  And I'm STILL thinking about those 3 perfect complete brothers and how they slipped form my hands. Help me feel better, I can't be the only one who's had ponies slip away... :yikes:

Yay! She's all done! I enlarged the pattern by about 50%, and boy did that make a HUGE difference! Much easier to sew and work with! Took a LOT less time to make :muffin: Pony then it did Pinkie, since I was more familiar with the pattern. Still, what took a long time (which I don't count into the actual "making" of her) was drawing the patterns for the hair, tail, and wings. Did the wings 3 times before I was happy. ^^; Really happy with her mane, and since her cutie was simple bubbles it worked well with the printable cotton!

- Height: 13 inches
- Mane & Body are made of Minky
- Eyes and cutie marks are Printable Cotton Fabric
- Details on wings is done with sewing machine

This. Took. HOURS. X_x Over 10 hours form start to finish- not counting prepping the pattern! I'm hoping the next one won't take nearly as long... I learned a LOT from this one. Ponies are a lot harder then I thought, but then, she's also smaller then many ponies, at only 11 inches. Need to enlarge the pattern. A LOT. ^^; She turned out pretty well though. Her cutie mark is pretty rough, but I have never hand embroidered in my life so... yah. LOL. One day I'll get a machine. Overall though, I'm pretty happy. Original body pattern from :iconvalleyviolet: , but I made the mane and tail pattern myself. I'll get more pictures of her later when my camera battery is recharged. I got two before it quit. ^^; Need to tweak the ears next time, they got a little wrinkled, but it's not that noticeable with the hair.

As for the inevitable "are you selling these", YES, I will make ponies to sell. This Pinkie... I'm debating selling her. She is the prototype after all and she's not perfect... but if someone really wants her, I'm open to (reasonable) offers. :)

--Details--
- Time: 10+ Hours
- Mane & Body are made of Minky
- Eyes are Printable Cotton Fabric
- Cutie mark is hand embriodered
- Details on mane is done with sewing machine (wish I had harder thread but... eh, it makes it pop)
- Height: 11 inches or 29 cm.

My first Hero Chao is finished! While I'm not totally satisfied with the head pattern, it's getting there and I'll make further improvements as I continue to tweak the pattern. But for a first, he's adorable! What's really special about this little guy is he is POSEABLE! He has joints in his arms, legs, and head so you can turn them however you want! His halo and tail sewn to his head, while the eyes and wings are glued.
