I don't come over to the customs form very often and I don't know if I've posted this in the right part so if not I'm sorry!

I am looking for someone to do a G1-G4 custom as a present for my best friend. I am looking to spend about £25 max, however it will need to be worked to a deadline as I will need the pony here to give her by the beginning of March. In particular... brushes and combs?

I have always used Lady Twilight's website in conjunction with Ponyland tours. They are both absolutely brilliant websites and have proved very useful to me over the years however they are both lacking some information and also show conflicting information. I am also finding it very difficult to tell the difference between ten or so blue butterfly brushes that are listed

Is there any more comprehensive information out there? Of course I understand this is really difficult as ponies were released with different coloured accessories all over the world.

I just thought I'd ask how other people ID which brushes and combs they have

I'd pretty much given up on car boot sales for ponies... a few years ago I would always come home with at least one or two but lately there have been a few mankey G3s at best. I suspect that the only carboot sale near me is always frequented by dealers who buy up all the vintage toys to re-sell online.

I just went today on a whim though... and I was in luck! I came across a stall which had a few 80s looking barbies on it so I just thought I'd ask the lady if she had any ponies and the answer was YES she had a box full!

A variant Princess Ruby!
She's actually the third variant princess I've found at this same car boot sale though and even though she's lacking most of her tail she's got more than the other two I found :p

All these ponies and accessories... £5! Can't say fairer than that!

I am just kicking myself a little bit for not asking the lady if she had any playsets too... but I didn't really go through the box and notice the playset accessories until I got home. She must, at one point, have had the Dream Castle, the Lullabye Nursery, the Pretty Parlor and maybe others. Whoops!

I decided to spend today going through my collection, sorting and cataloguing. While doing so, I made two horrible discoveries. Just two of my collection of around 1000 had gained cancer spots since I last looked at them... my Ice Crystal and my Mimic, both of whom were pretty minty last time I looked. I am so so upset, I can't believe that it would be those two out of every single pony! I don't understand it either... they were both in separate boxes, stored in the exact same way as all my other ponies in little paper bags and they were the only victims...?

Well I've been completely put off looking at my ponies for now. I bought those two at a time when I had some spare income, there's no way I'm going to be able to afford replacements for a good while now and I would be scared to do so in case the same thing happened again.

Sometimes pony collecting can be a very cruel sport...

Primark seems to be the place for pony stuff these days, I just picked up this awesome top today for just £6. Finally something (kinda) MLP which suits my figure. Those normal tops with the sleeves don't do my large shoulders any favours at all! It is slightly cropped though so the sun will have to be shining for me to get away with it.

I was thinking about this the other day...


When I began to lurk in the on-line community in 2003, you couldn't really go too far without someone saying something bad about G2s, people couldn't stand them!


Nowadays however (perhaps alongside the release of G4s) a new found love seems to have emerged for G2s but people can't seem to give away G3s now. They're really not popular at all.


Looks like people aren't valuing things on aesthetics, but how old something is. G2s are from the 90s so they can be considered retro now (urgh I feel old!) and people suddenly love them. Perhaps when G4s come to an end they will be shunned in a similar way? Because I know when G3s came out people absolutely loved them.


Strange hmm...


PS. This is a completely generalised observation and I am in no way hating on any particular generation...
