Ok this topic has come up a few times and I think I finally have a good photo showing the difference between the glitter picks sold with princesses VS sisters. Beyond colors, the big difference is that princess combs have more glitter and the glitter is finer than on the SHS combs. The magenta comb on the left is from a prom queen SHS and the princess comb is from Serena (both are childhood collection) visitors can't see pics , please register or loginOrange/gold on left is from a prom queen SHS (childhood collection) and right is Misty's yellow comb visitors can't see pics , please register or loginHope this can help some folks ID their combs!

Hey I see the Canada post strike is happening and wanted to offer to help and see if others can help too.
I'm in America and will be traveling to Toronto in late September, I'm happy to receive packages for Canadians and hand carry to Toronto. If you are not avalable to pick up the week I'm there i can leave your boxes with trusted collector friends in the Toronto area. I'm also happy to hold packages until the strike is over and ship them then. Can also collect packages to bring down and ship from America if the strike is still active in late September. All of this I can coordinate with Toronto locals to help accommodate different time needs.
Are there other folks traveling in and out of Canada in the near future that could help too? Maybe we can get a network going and all help eachother!

Hello,
I hope this is the right place to post this, please move if not. I have two my child pets, a yellow cat and a brown puppy both in really superb condition. I picked them up in a thrift years and years ago thinking they would trade well for ponies but honestly they grew on me and I ended up keeping them to decorate the bed in my guest room. I know very little about this toy line and don't collect them or anything related to them; so I'm hoping someone here can help me!
Also, what is a good place to sell these? I really don't want to list on eBay if I don't have to.
I can post or email photos if that helps, they have all tags, marked Toronto Canada, joints and "skin" is tight and no stains or other damage that I can see, they really are in nice condition in my opinion.

Anyone make their own laundry or dishwasher soap and willing to share experiences and recipes? I'm looking at switching to all food grade cleaning products but would love to share notes with others and maybe save myself trouble if anyone knows tricks  My laundry machine is HE and front load BTW. So that limits what I can put in it.

With the pop culture popularity of the g4 line and retro appeal of the original g1 I'm surprised we haven't seen another pony project. Anyone know why we only got the one? Would you attend if there was a new one? Thoughts?
For clarity, I'm referring to the big G3 vinyls that modern female artists were invited to customize and then show/sell at a art exhibition in NY NY.

AH!
I saw that the Arena gallery lists HK white Tootsie as Scandinavian rather than generic Euro'. ?????? Really? I've had more than one and all came from the Netherlands so Id always thought she was Euro?
Is HK white Tootsie really a Scandinavian exclusive? Is this newer information I might of missed over the years?
Sorry! This might be silly or old news, I'm just really surprised and not sure how I've had this wrong for so long.

Hey! I just had a couple collector friends visiting from out of town and realized I really miss just connecting with other people in the hobby. I've met up with individual collectors several times, but I'm wondering if there would be any interest in something like a semi regular club or gathering? Nothing fancy or formal, just get together at a coffee shop, mall, park something casual so those of us with kids have options to entertain them.
What do you guys think? Anyone interested? Thoughts? Ideas?
I'm in northern Virginia BTW.

Hello,
So I'm wondering if anyone has any clever ideas to reduce shipping costs from the US to Europe? It seems the US postal service has dropped the cheaper option I used to use and now it will cost me around $75 to ship a 5LB box that I used to send for about $50. I assume Ill be stuck eating the cost, but as a last hope I'm posting here to see if anyone has come up with a clever work around (I know a lot of us ship over seas here!) I have checked and getting a smaller box did not help and splitting to two boxes did not really help either.

Hello,
I rescued a vintage Strawberry shortcake raspberry tart with flat hands from the thrift today. she is in great condition and has all but 1 shoe, her hat and pet. eBay sold listings were only for the curved hand one, so I'm wondering if the flat hands is worth any more or less? I don't collect these and plan to rehome her, but trying to figure out if she is worth listing at all since SSC doesn't sell well. any help is greatly appreciated!

So I don't collect G3 and know little about them, but I do thrift store hunt semi regularly and find a lot of them. Is there any easy guidance of what is worth buying or do I really need to know them well to know what to get? Yesterday I left some early year ones, babies and some pink peg's (hidden treasure? I figure if there are three in a bag she is common) is there anything simple that I can keep in mind, like buy all unicorns or don't bother with early years. are the big styling ones worth getting (I normally buy those because my toddler plays with them).
Help me G3 experts! I hate to think I'm leaving good stuff behind, but I know a lot of them (minty) are worth less that the thrift charges to rescue them.

Random thought/question: Were the Macau production ponies more prevalent in Portugal? Macau was a disputed territory during the 80's having been a Portuguese colony and only recently becoming an official part of China in the late 90's. (Portuguese language and names are still very prevalent on the island) Macau is actually a bit of a black sheep in its area with a colorful character (its the Las Vegas on the east) so its kind of interesting that the ponies they produced were so earthy and modest. In any case, I've noticed these selling second hand in Germanic countries most of the time and it seems a little odd to me, I would expect them to be centered in Portugal instead.

Hello, Can someone help me with the first twin sets night gowns? Some websites separate the sets by the color of the bow (green or pink) and others separate them by the color of the gown (white or pink). I had both sets as a kid and they matched both ID's (white with pink bows = Doodles & Noodles and pink with green bows = Jangles & Tangles) My question is: I have an extra set of the pink gowns with pink bows! and I see the white gowns with either color bow in the MIB photos on the reference sites. Is this a known general variation, could it be Canadian (I know the twin accessories had several variants in Canada like the mini bottles.) Anyone know anything about these? I'm trying to organize my Fairy Tail Birds and cant find a good resource for what stands and combs went with the 6 European exclusive birds or the combs for the wedding set. Any bird collectors out there that can help me with a list, web site or MOC photos?
