 Hi, I'm Khoufu, and I'd like to open sewing commissions on here. I'm in the US and I enjoy handsewing with fake fur.

Examples:

Butterick patterns readily available:
Popple 16"

Butterick patterns most wanted:
Proud Heart Cat
Treat Heart Pig

I will buy almost any plush pattern if commissioned for it. I will also happily recolor a pattern and change any symbols to make OCs!

Prices: (shipping is extra)
Tails: (simple pattern, 2 colors)
-Small (~10") $30
-Medium (~18") $70
-Large (~2.5-3') $100
*Complexity and additional colors will likely affect price.

Butterick plushies:
$50

Materials:
I tend to use 1/2" luxury fake fur for the main body on plushies and 1.5" luxury shag fake fur for tails. Fuzzy fabric and details may be Joanns quality as I see fit.

I may also be interested in a partial trade for 80s toys or Nintendo games but they'd be a lower priority so they'd count as being worth 80% of their listed price.

Arts & Crafts Corral / Ponywear sewing patterns?
« on: September 18, 2018, 09:40:37 AM »
Hi, I'm looking for ponywear patterns. Capes are easy enough to figure out but I don't have any pony shirts or the like to make a pattern from. Any generation would be appreciated.

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / What are your obscure toy collections?
« on: September 03, 2018, 08:01:00 PM »
I'm sure many of us have collected toys that aren't nearly as famous as MLP, at least in our area. If you've ever told someone what you collect, and they gave you a blank stare, mention it here! Please feel free to include pics so we don't have to google it. I might edit in a list im this post to include everything mentioned in here.

Here's my most obscure, at least in the US:
Diddl mouse and friends

Plushies and stationary were sold at Toys R Us for a brief time around 2004ish, shortly after my mom's Danish friend introduced us to Diddl, and I obtained as much as my 9-year-old self could while it was available. Aside from my BFF at the time and my sister, no one I've mentioned it to in the US has recognized it. I've hear that he's rather famous in parts of Europe, like Mickey Mouse.

I've also had to explain Popples to several people but (girl) toy collectors seem to be familiar with them.

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Polly Pocket ID/price check, please?

Once I clean this set up, I'm thinking of selling it and most of the figures. The blond bowl cut figure has almonds no face left, the others have minimal wear but intact faces, and the pool set seems to work but the lawn chair is broken.

If I keep the gymnastics(?) girl in the green shirt, how likely could I make at last  $12 off of the rest?

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Help me ID these TMNT toys?
« on: August 22, 2018, 11:16:10 PM »
So, I'm pretty new to TMNT. I liked the old cartoon as a kid and was hunting down the turtles at the flea market. All I needed was Donatello, and my sister surprised me with a lot that had a few odd versions of he turtles, some sort of playset, and a few other characters. Sewer Samurai Leo and island vacation Mikey are straightforward enough, but I know absolutely nothing about the rest besides the original 4 turtles (and 2 of them are the soft head version!) There's a Mikey that twirls something in his hand, a wind-up Donnie, Raph with a hole in is shell and you can put some sort of object on his back and it spins...

Names, at the very least, would be appreciated.

I'm curious how quickly (or slowly) discoloration such as age spots, regrind, acne cream damage, and others may spread. Photos are most welcome if you have "then vs now" examples.

Trader & Shipping Support / Ebay: how to get refund after 30 days?
« on: August 09, 2018, 11:59:06 PM »
I hadn't run into an issue on ebay yet and I thought I wonder have the usual 6 month protection from Paypal, so I gave this seller a month to ship my item. I opened a request for my item to be shipped, only to realize that ebay only will step in up to 30 days after purchase, and it has been 38 days. Is there a way I can get my money back through Paypal since the seller isn't responding?

So, this was my first plush: Spumoni the Popple, lover of retro nostalgia and cold drinks. Most of my sewing experience is from making wearable fursona tails.

Not bad for my first plush, but it took me a few minutes to figure out that the lines of the pattern are where you cut, not where you sew. Despite that annoyance, I may be tempted to try a Pony or Care Bear pattern. Does anyone have examples of plushies made from Butterick patterns, especially those two?

EDIT: I'm considering taking on 2-3 commission slots for handsewn Proud Heart Cat made with the Butterick pattern for $50 each. I'll find a better way of doing the eyes before then, though maybe the eyes won't look so wide against non-white fur. I may later do Treat Heart Pig, Loyal Heart Dog, or Playful Heart Monkey.

Pony Corral / Regrind or bleach or what? Photos included
« on: August 05, 2018, 06:08:36 PM »
So, I got this lovely Mountain Boy for relatively cheap because of his discoloration. I don't mind it, but I would like to know what it is so that I know if he requires isolation.

Off Topic / Anyone at SDCC? ISO Neopets code!
« on: July 20, 2018, 07:05:33 PM »
I still play Neopets and I heard there is a cool code and I would love a code if you grab an extra (or two) for me (and my sister). My sister can offer a bit of art as trading fodder.

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Star Wars toy thread
« on: July 14, 2018, 09:11:56 PM »
What do you think. Star Trek as well? Sci-fi action figures in general?  Anyway, talk about them here.

I collect R2 units and other droids. My Star Trek figure collection has far more variety. What does your collection look like?

Pony Corral / Collected ponies older than you as a kid?
« on: July 12, 2018, 07:47:41 AM »
I was born in 1995 but I collected all the MLP I could find as a kid, especially G1, even before G3 came out. Every G1 and G2 pony from my childhood herd (except 2 of the 3 G2 McD's ponies and Skyskimmer) were found secondhand.

Did anyone else have a childhood herd that was older than themselves? When people mention their childhood herd, I get curious if they're old enough to have been a kid in the 80s which I imagine a lot of folks here were.

Customs / Rit dye: what am I doing wrong?
« on: July 10, 2018, 01:03:16 PM »
I have never dyed a pony or pony hair before. I got HQG1C Frost and tried using powder Rit dye in black. I used vinegar and liquid detergent and followed the instructions for bucket/stove top, but when I rinsed it, it all came out! :(

What am I doing wrong? How do I dye a pony's hair?

Pony Corral / Forum game: Pony Simon! The game is on!
« on: July 02, 2018, 08:58:59 PM »
This is based on a game (Avatar Simon) that I've played on sites like Neopets where you collect avatars. In this case, we'll be using ponies we own. I'm open to suggestions for changes.

Rules:
-Just like in Simon Says, the person deemed "Simon" is copied by everyone else.
-Simon posts a single photo of 5 of THEIR OWN ponies and list them by name, OR post a themed photo (i.e. 5 pink ponies, or 2 ponies with flower symbols) including 2-5 ponies.
-Everyone else posts a single photo of as many of those ponies as they have, along with their names and the number of ponies they have out of the total. (Ex. 2/5) OR post their own version of the theme photo (i.e. your own 5 pink ponies)
-Each Simon gets to host 2 rounds.
-1 round lasts for 24 hours after the initial round post by the Simon, though posts for round 1 still count up through round 2. After round 2 ends, the winner, the person with the most points OR as chosen by the Simon if it's a theme round, gets to start their own  game, consisting of 2 rounds.
-The old Simon is encouraged to alert the new Simon via PM that they won.

Detailed Rules
-Nirvanas and alternates count the same as their common versions. (I.e. Italy Tootsie and US Tootsie both count as Tootsie.) Hybrid ponies count as both ponies individually.
-Simons may use any generation.
-By default, the generation doesn't matter, HOWEVER the Simon may specify a generation if they choose. (Ex. Applejack is any gen; G1 Applejack is just G1 Applejack)
-An army of 1 pony counts as 1 pony, unless it's a theme round.
-A custom of a pony on a Hasbro body counts.

I'm open for suggestions! If it looks good, I'll start the first round.

Hi. I'm Khoufu from California, and I have a bunch of fake fur that I primarily use for making wearable animal tails, and I'm hoping to trade a craft or two for some G1 or G2 ponies!

Examples are in my gallery: http://www.hasbro.com/mylittlepony/en_US/gallery/khoufu/folder/349593/Fursuit-Parts

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

My USD prices are as follows:
Price depends on the size and complexity. Simple deer/nub tail is $30
Knee length is $70
Calf/ankle length is $100. USD Paypal, everything is plus shipping.

I can do other things like a furry pillow case or keychain.

I will HAPPILY accept roughly equal trade for g1 or g2 ponies. I like white ponies and boys especially. Some defects ok, just no major symbol or face damage. Ask for s wishlist, or show me what you have to trade. Trading ONLY IN THE US, please.
