I’ve always wondered why Dream Beauties didn’t stick around... Or at the very least, why Hasbro has never tried to revive/reboot them. Sales are the obvious reason, but it strikes me as odd that they were never big sellers. I’ve always partially attributed that to the time they were introduced: towards the tail end of G1.
I feel like there’s a real gap in the toy market for something like Dream Beauties, Fashion Star Fillies, etc... The closest thing I can think of that’s on shelves today would be Schleich’s fantasy horses and Breyer’s occasional dabbling in unicorns. A few years back there was “Pony Royale”, which reminded me a little of Dream Beauties, but it didn’t last.
What are some of you guys’ opinions on why these lines have never seen the broad, lasting success of the main MLP brand? Price point? Durability? Aesthetic?

I’m trying to clean the flocking on my So Soft Ribbon. I’ve washed her with Dawn Ultra, scrubbing with a toothbrush and Magic Eraser, soaked her in dilluted Oxi-Clean (the powder form), washed again, and still can’t get all of the grime out. She’s improved quite a bit, but there are gray-brown patches that are still bugging me. Is bleach my only remaining option? I admit, I’m kind of terrified of the stuff. My Ribbon doesn’t seem like she should be a particularly special case as far as cleaning So Softs goes... But for some reason, the ponies in the tutorial vids I’ve seen always turn out a lot cleaner. Am I just terrible at this, lol?

I have a Dance ‘n Prance D.J. who is missing her flower button/knob... What’s left is a rusty, sharp, metal bit protruding from a gaping hole in her chest. XP Is there any way to replace the button, or at least cover up the gap in an aesthetically pleasing way? Bonus points if there’s a way to keep the mechanism functional (it still works, there’s just no way to turn it without getting rusty fingers ). visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I’ve been going through my G1 collection and touching up some of their issues (surface grime, chipped symbols, etc.), and now I’m ready to tackle the hair. Some ponies have pretty bad frizz, others could just use some conditioner and a boil perm. My question is: what products are known to have the best results with MLPs? I’ve heard baby shampoos/conditioners, but is there a particular brand that’s recommended? Are there certain ingredients that should be avoided? I also need advice on what kind of anti-frizz lotion to buy for use with a straightening iron...I’ve never tried that technique, and I’m a bit nervous. So, what products have worked for your pony needs? I’d love to hear your experiences, and they don’t have to be limited to just the issues I mentioned. Detangling? Styling? Softening?

I've been trying to remove some nasty mold spots from a few of my G1 ponies... It's that icky brown spotting that I think is referred to as "pony cancer". Anyway, I'm trying to avoid RemoveZit, since these ponies are blue, pink, etc., and I don't want bleaching to occur. I heard that mold spots can be sanded off, but I'm not having any luck. How much sanding does it take to get past the mold!? Is there a better technique for this? Please help!

I'm missing just a few Fashion Style ponies to complete my collection! I don't care if they're boxed or not, or whether they have every accessory (though major accessories such as crowns will be missed). I am seeking Fashion Style: Daisy Dreams Through the Mirror Luna Through the Mirror Celestia SDCC Muffin Wonderbolts 6-Pack My details: I use PayPal, and pay very promptly. I have 100% positive feedback on every site I've ever bought or sold through, I'm pretty sure. Here's my Ebay profile (shared with family, ATM): http://www.ebay.com/usr/stoneborder?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 I am located in the U.S., but am willing to buy internationally if an item is not readily available in the States. Please help me fulfill my pony dreams? 8D

With dolls and the like, I tend to collect complete lines and display them in neat, organized arrangements. But with ponies... there are so many types, sizes, generations, series, and styles that my collection starts to just look like a giant vault of randomness. o_0; Trying to "complete" anything seems like an insurmountable task, due to the sheer volume of releases!
My question(s): is there rhyme or reason to your collection? Do you only collect certain generations, or certain types of ponies from said generations (brushables, blind bags, Funko, plush, etc.)? I seem to have collected a bit of everything. ^_^; And how do you display them in a way that's orderly and aesthetically pleasing?

So I've been blogging for a while now, off and on, and I'm ready to get serious again... I have a toy blog, as it happens (see sig). I love to improve in things, and blogging is no exception for me, so I'm seeking a bit of advice from fellow bloggers, webmasters, and those who read blogs.
1: Being 'on top of the ball'. When something new is happening (first photos of a new toy discovered, new trademarks discovered, etc.), from where is it best to get ahold of photos, info, and the like? Is it poor etiquette to ask permissions of someone who posts a photo to a forum if you may repost it?
2: Gaining momentum. How is it most efficient to promote your blog? DO you promote? Or do you let Google searches and the quality of your work earn your traffic?
Constructive advice is very welcome. As I've said, I'm hoping to improve in my blogging, and would love some insight into what a well-oiled blog or site needs to function. Thank you. =3

My ponies are extremely disorganized at the moment, and I'm trying to come up with a creative way to display more of them. I was wondering... How do you display your collection/s? As I'm sure many of you know, collections tend to quickly outgrow their allotted shelf space. If you have photos, all the better. :3 Thanks!

Nice to meet you! You can just call me by my username. =3 I'm 21, from Michigan, and I've been collecting ponies from every generation since I was around four years old. I have several hundred now, spanning G1, G2, G3, G3.5, and G4, as well as a small "fakies" collection. I also collect lots of other toys, such as fashion dolls, plushies, action figures, Transformers, etc. I love 80s cartoons and toys... and clothes. The 80s had the best fashion, in my humble opinion. I'm a blogger (*pokes* siggie). I love to keep up on toy news and post about the latest additions to my ever-growing (and ever-space-consuming) collection. I'm also a hardcore nerd. I do pretty much every stereotypical nerd thing known to man... I collect comics (and have a stache of them in the basement), play video games, read fantasy novels, collect action figures, watch anime, and so on. And of course I love Star Wars and D&D. I hope to be an active member of the community!
