Pony Corral / Hasbro copyright unicorn with dice in its chest?
« on: May 02, 2014, 12:07:52 PM »
Hey guys!  I ran across this weird little critter a while ago and was hoping for help identifying it!  It's a pink hard plastic unicorn with a brushable tail and a dice in its chest.  The little dome can be popped and the dice will show "Yes", "No", or "?".  It's copyright 1995 Hasbro, made in China.  I tried to do some Googling but wasn't having any luck!

Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated!  And please excuse the cat hair all over my mouse pad!

For Trade / Closed: Found it!
« on: April 17, 2014, 02:53:16 PM »
Edit: Managed to find one, thank you!

As the topic says, I'm still hunting for McDonald's Luna!  She can be opened but I'd like her to come with her stickers (because I am a sucker and I'm totally going to decorate her! )

I have an unopened Celestia I'd be willing to trade.  If Celestia is of no interest, I'd be willing to trade/partial trade for items in my sales thread, or outright buy her from you.

Please send me a PM if you're interested!  Thank you! :)

Customs / Fuzzy Flocked Baby Glory!
« on: March 28, 2014, 12:11:17 PM »
I had a poor Baby Glory with some really terrible body marks, so I decided to play with making a baby So-soft!  She's flocked in the blue "flitter" (flocking/glitter mix) from CraftFlocking.com, with eyelashes painted on top of the flocking.  She also features super glittery symbols protected with Mod Podge.  She is very soft and while taking pictures I kept petting her.

She's actually for sale!  I'm asking $15 plus shipping for her.  If you're interested, feel free to send me a PM. :)

Customs / EqG Rainbow Dash gets a new face and outfit!
« on: March 06, 2014, 01:46:08 PM »
Hey guys!  This girl has been sitting completed on my shelf for a month or two, but I thought it was about time I shared her!  I got an EqG "Hair Styling" Rainbow Dash back in December when Amazon had a big sale, so she only cost me $10.  I thought, "Eh, why not, I'd love to see one out of the box!"  I was pretty unhappy with the doll though, so she was shoved to the back of a shelf for a month until I figured out what I wanted to do with her.

She's received a new face up with acrylic paint and watercolor pencils, repainted wings, a new outfit with sparkly pants and a reversible top, and new detailing on her boots.  Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Price Check Archives / PC on a bunch of MOC G2's
« on: March 05, 2014, 01:11:33 PM »
I'm in the middle of a pretty major collection revamp / refocus, and I found a ton of MOC G2's in my closet that I forgot that I had.  I have all of these ponies loose and I'm not a MOC collector, so I'd rather sell them to someone who collects that sort of thing.  Does anyone have any ideas as to proper pricing on these?  Also, some of them are in German, does that make a difference on price at all?  Thanks so much for the help!

Wanted! / Alipes's Wantlist
« on: February 17, 2014, 01:00:43 PM »
Hey there!  Welcome to my want list!  I decided that I'd really like to collect Breezies, so they are listed here.  I AM currently buying, so if you have any of these ponies for sale, please PM me!  I'm located in the US and would prefer US sellers, just due to shipping costs, but if you have several ponies from my wantlist and are located internationally, I would love to hear from you still!  Also, I would prefer to only pay by Paypal.

I am also looking for undamaged / repro SHS earrings of any sort!  If you have any of these for sale or trade, PLEASE let me know!

If you've come here from my sale thread, I am potentially interested in trading the following for things I have for sale:

  • Bait condition ponies (G1/G2)
  • MH/EAH dolls, nude or with stock (especially Scaris Cleo and Dance Rochelle)
  • MH/EAH stock (especially Sig Rochelle's outfit, or any Operetta outfits except for Sig)

These items are really on a case by case basis, but I am certainly willing to entertain offers, so feel free to send me a PM!

Customs / An Extra Fancy G1 -> G4, MGR Flower Bouquet
« on: January 22, 2014, 01:46:35 PM »
Hey guys!  This girl has been completed for a bit, but I just now got around to taking some pictures.  I adore merry-go-round horses and absolutely love the G1 MGR's, but G4's simply don't have enough "saddle" space to recreate the full designs properly.  That's where I got the idea to do an extra fancy interpretation instead, and which pony better than my favorite of the MGR's, Flower Bouquet.

Fancy Flower Bouquet was made with a Pinkie Pie base, painted white and rehaired with a mixture of pinks for most of her hair, with a mixture of greens for a contrasting stripe.  Her breastplate was made with Apoxie Sculpt, painted with acrylics, decorated with Swarovski crystals, and coated with Triple Thick for protection.  The saddle was similarly created, but there is a magnet inside both the pony and the saddle to keep it in place or make it removable.  The blanket was sewn out of a scrap of cotton fabric, with lace along the bottom edge and decorated with handmade ribbon roses, more Swarovski crystals, and ribbons.  There is also a magnet along the bottom of the blanket so it can be removed or attached, either together with or separately from the saddle.  Her bridle was made with soutache braid and ribbons and decorated with additional Swarovski crystals, and is removable via doll velcro in three spots.  She also sports two hairpins featuring handmade ribbons roses.

Whew, that's quite the explanation!  Anyway, I hope you enjoy!  :)

Customs / Vinyl Scratch, G3 to G4 Kimono, super sparkly rainbow OC!
« on: August 13, 2013, 11:49:00 AM »
Hey guys, it's been a little bit since I've posted anything new here, but that doesn't mean I haven't been working on stuff behind the scenes!   These three girls have been done for a bit, but I finally got around to taking pictures today.  Hope you like them!

First up is Vinyl Scratch, with magnetic removable glasses.  Rarity base, hair is Dollyhair Water Nixie and Forget Me Not, with glasses sculpted out of Apoxie Sculpt and using magnets inside the head and glasses to hold them in place.  Her crazy hairdo was styled with water but there is no product to hold it in place.  She's been done for a couple of months and her hairstyle has stayed like that!

The second girl is named Silver Prism.  I saw CSA's thread where she created some gorgeous rainbow hair, so I knew I had to buy a hank from her and use it for something!   Fluttershy base, painted with acrylic paints and covered with micro-fine holographic glitter, symbols have gems and Triple Thick for protection.  And of course, rehaired with CSA's amazing rainbow hair!

And finally, we have a generation swap, G3 Kimono as a G4!  There are not nearly enough G3 unicorns, so Kimono is an honorary unicorn instead!  I was trying to give her that same sort of sparkly look that some of G3's have, so I mixed two colors of pearl ex pigments with acrylic paint for a FBR on a Twilight Sparkle base.  I also wanted to recreate the G3 eyes, so her matching style eyelashes are dark purple and she has little pink hearts for the highlights.  Rehaired with some unknown purpley stuff (it's from Dollyhair, but the baggy was not marked so I suspect it was from a mystery pack), as well as Dollyhair Moonlight since I don't like tinsel.

Customs / G1 to G4 Rainbow Curl Ponies! (pic heavy)
« on: July 01, 2013, 10:24:26 AM »
Hey there!  I've been working a couple more intensive customs lately, so I thought it would be fun to do a set of pretty girls that don't require FBR's!   I didn't realize until I was most of the way done that there was currently a group collage in progress for the rainbow ponies, so I sent a message to heftysmurf76 to make sure I wouldn't be hurting anyone's feelings if I shared these girls, and he was very supportive.  He had a very good point, that everyone's style of customizing is different, so hopefully you guys will enjoy my customs, and I can't WAIT to see the collage when it's done!

Each of these girls was hand painted with acrylics, then sealed with Triple Thick.  The hair is all Dollyhair nylon, color matched from the website in the customs sticky (with the exception of whoever needed Pineapple -- DH mentions that it doesn't curl well, which is part of the fun with these ladies, so I subbed it for a color I used for one of the others).

Customs / Post your personal customizing horror stories!
« on: June 20, 2013, 01:51:55 PM »
We've all been there!  You're working on a custom, and everything's going great, when BAM!  Things go horribly, horribly wrong!  Let's share our personal horror stories!

***** Please note: I would like this to be a safe place where we can have a little laugh at ourselves, and maybe share things we've learned from our experiences.  So with regards to that, please only share your own experiences, and don't call out others for mistakes or things like that.  I'd like this to be a fun thread!

I will start with my experience from this afternoon, and the one that inspired me to make this thread!  I was working with a G4 Fluttershy and trying out some new painting techniques to make a super sparkly pony, and by the time I gave up, she was sparkly, but also SUPER DUPER goopy and sticky.  Bleh!

So I started using acetone to strip her down to try again, and I kept thinking about accidentally melting G4's with acetone.  I thought to myself, "Oh well!  At least if I melt her body too badly, I'll just turn her into a seapony or something!"   Thankfully she pulled through, and she's currently in the garage with a new coat of primer to try again.

My lessons from this: 1) If you're working with new stuff, be extra careful about the dry time!  and 2) Learning to recover from mistakes is just as important as learning not to make them!

So how about you guys?  Did you dog eat half of your custom?  Accidentally knocked something to the floor?  Share your stories!

Customs / Custom G4 Cloudchaser
« on: June 19, 2013, 10:21:57 AM »
A few days ago I posted a picture of a custom I had completed, Flitter.  I adore the way she turned out, so I knew I had to make her friend Cloudchaser!  Cloudchaser was made from a Rainbow Dash base with extra holes punched for bangs.  She was hand painted with acrylics, then sealed with Dullcote and rehaired with Virgin Snow and Water Nixie from Dollyhair.  She's got this adorable mullet-y hairstyle in the show, so I did my best to duplicate it.

Customs / G4 FiM Background Character Flitter
« on: June 12, 2013, 03:24:13 PM »
Why hello again!  I think I just posted a custom here not too long ago!   Today I have to share with you a custom Flitter!  She was hand painted with acrylics and sealed with Dullcote, then rehaired with about 4 colors of Dollyhair, none of which I remember the name of at this point however!

Unfortunately, I prepped her Rainbow Dash bait ages ago, and managed to break the neck plug in the process, so her head doesn't turn.  I did decide to make a cute choker for her though, so I guess it's a lesson in mistake recovery!  Hope you like her!

Customs / Making a giant mess while making hair plugs!
« on: June 12, 2013, 10:49:39 AM »
I'm sure I can't be the only one who has this issue, so I have to ask!   When I'm rehairing a pony, it seems like I always manage to make a giant mess out of loose hairs in the process!  Basically, while separating enough hair for a plug I end up with individual hairs that get everywhere!  Do you have any tips or tricks to keeping the rest of the hair tidy while making plugs?

Customs / G1 -> G4 Custom Sparkle Sky Rocket
« on: June 10, 2013, 12:20:30 PM »
I absolutely adore sparkly ponies, which is why I decided to do my own take on one of the G1 Sparkle ponies, Sky Rocket!  Sky Rocket was made from a Pinkie Pie base, dusted with Pearl Ex True Blue to give her a great metallic base color, then coated with about six different colors of glitter so she's super sparkly!

I'm not a big fan of tinsel, so when I rehaired her with nylon, I opted to go with dark blue stripes (matching her original tinsel color) instead.

I think she's gorgeous, and I hope you like her too!

This is an issue I really haven't had to deal with before, so hopefully I can get some advice.  I recently had two auctions purchased by the same person, who has already sent me payment.  Unfortunately, she also sent me two different messages that said her address had changed and provided me with a new address -- that was slightly different in each message.  Looking at the addresses provided it seemed pretty clear that one was a slight typo of the other, but there was no easy way for me to tell which was which.

I sent her a message back immediately through eBay and mentioned that the items were ready to ship but I needed the address confirmed because of this issue, and didn't hear a response back.  This was on Sunday, so I sent her another message on Wednesday mentioning again that I could not ship her items until I had received a fixed address.

It's Monday now and I still haven't received a response.  I've gotten payment, and I've got the items packed up and ready to go, but I just can't send them until I hear back from her and she hasn't responded.  Is there anything else I can do in this situation?  How long do I wait, and what do I do once I give up on hearing from her?
