So as I'm sure everyone knows, DH's Daquiri Ice has been a different color than the original for a while now. Does anyone know if Tina will bring back the original color or if she's ever talked with the company that makes the hair? There's certainly a demand for it, and it's not like DH hasn't had incorrect colors fixed before (like Lucky Clover vs. Unlucky Clover).
I'm sure it's especially frustrating for people restoring the Nirvana ponies that have this particular color, since it's just getting harder to find someone with original Daquiri for sale. It seems odd to me that this one color hasn't been addressed for... a year? A few years?

I received some hanks from Dollyhair recently, and one of the colors I got was Daiquiri Ice since it always looked so pretty on the site. In person, it looks a lot greener, which I just chalk up to my computer screen being a bit off. I still think it's pretty, but I remember seeing a thread within the last year or so about new hanks of that color being different than old hanks. Was this ever fixed or is the 'new' Daiquiri Ice a slightly different color than it used to be?

A few days ago I went to my local Savers to see if they had any ponies I could add to my bait pile. As usual I found a couple G3s and interesting fakies, but then I passed by the large toys section. Lo and behold, I find this: visitors can't see pics , please register or loginNot even a G1, but a My Pretty Pony!! I actually said "oh my god no way" to myself when I saw her.  I've never found anything earlier than G3 in the wild, so this was a great surprise. I think it would be fun to fix her up; poor thing looks like she hasn't seen a comb in ages.

I have a Kailey doll that's just collecting dust that I'm thinking about selling... but I have no idea how much she's worth.  She's nearly mint and has her original clothes and dog, too.

I have a Medley and a Sunbeam whose symbols need restoring, and I'm not sure which shades I need. Naturally I want to match the original glitter as closely as possible. I'm looking at the colors offered here and here. I don't really trust my monitor or the photos to be true-to-life so I hope someone can help with these specific ponies.

Lately I've been looking into color-shifting paints, and even after doing a little digging in the Arena and the internet I'm still not sure about which brands are better or could achieve the effects I have in mind. I'd like to be able to get something like you'd find on a scarab beetle or an oil slick, but I feel a lot of 'iridescent' paints will only look pearly or metallic - they shimmer, but they don't change color with the viewing angle  Does anyone have any guidance to offer me? Or pictures of projects where you've used color-shifting paint? (ideally at several different angles)

I made a Drama Pony custom a year or two ago, and I just noticed that she has a lot of cracks on the surface in addition to some weird discoloration on her ears and nose. She was my first full custom so I'm really bummed. I used matte Krylon spray to seal her. Is this a common problem with Krylon or just a fluke? And is there any way to fix Drama without making her worse?
I would hate trying to find another good sealer - Mod Podge doesn't work for me and I haven't seen any Testors Dullcote in my area (which I know is also popular with customizers).

So I recently got my hands on a few G1s and I'm working on fixing them up... unfortunately it looks like all of them have had mane cuts. I guess my first question should be, should I rehair them at all? They don't have mohawks but their manes are definitely shorter than they should be. And if I do, what are the original mane and tail lengths? (they're all Y2 ponies) One of the ponies is Medley, and I know there was a long-haired version of her. Is there a way to tell if she was a short or long haired version? Medley's texture is also a little weird. She doesn't feel as smooth as the others and if I look closely, the color looks kind of like 'noise' in a bad photo. Should this concern me? I think that's it for now. I'll update this post if I think of anything else.

I was doing some cleaning recently, and apparently I have a ridiculous amount of acrylic gems. Naturally my first thought was to try using them up on a custom or two. I'm not quite sure which direction to take, however. So, help give me inspiration and show me your gem-encrusted pony customs! The more the better.

I was out thrifting recently and managed to find Twilight Sparkle with bangs (packaged in a baggie with a few other random toys) and didn't notice that she had gum in her hair until I got home.  What's the best way to get it out (if possible)? I'm assuming peanut butter would do it, but I don't want to do anything before getting any advice.

I went to my local TRU today to take advantage of their Buy 1 Get 1 1/2 Off deal, and I saw they had Zecora there (and promptly bought one! Believe it or not this is the first time I've seen her there. Additionally, they only got the Favorites collection sometime after Christmas, and last summer they still had a few Carousel Boutiques in stock when everyone else was buying/selling them online for about $60! The strangest thing about this is I live in a decent-sized city of about 70 thousand, so you wouldn't expect such a delay. Anyone else encounter pony-selling stores that seem slow on the uptake? Did you take advantage of it? I still kind of regret not getting those Carousel Boutiques and reselling them.
